My boyfriend and I stopped in for a bite after driving for 8 hours. The food was fine, nothing special, but the service was where the real issue was. We arrived after the dinner rush and the place was mostly empty. We still had to wait upwards of 7 minutes for them to clear a table for us (because no one was bussing tables). No one greeted us for another 5 minutes after we were seated, but once we got some attention it was a little better. Still, they got the table behind us's order wrong (twice, I might add), and two tables near us sat unbussed for a majority of the meal. In fact, as I'm writing this, one of the tables still hasn't been cleaned, despite the staff walking passed it many times during a quiet time of the evening. Really, the issue lies with the manager; the staff need to all have a meeting to be told how to keep a restaurant rolling, especially during non-peak hours. I'm giving it 2 stars because the food was fine, but I really give it one for the service. read more

The crispy chicken cobb salad on the menu list eight items. I was told one ounce of each item was the reason they're not visible in the salad. My salad was made by manager, said it was correctly made even though items were not visible. I was not charged, I was disappointed with this type of behavior/service. read more

We were on a road trip and decided to stop in Roanoke Rapids for the night. We were willing to try a local restaurant but couldn't find one with rave reviews. We haven't eaten at Ruby Tuesdays in years so we gave a try. Herb-crusted tilapia and half-rack baby back ribs (both with sides) were delicious! Excellent meals for $30 total! Had to wait 50 minutes just get an appetizer. The service is the worst I've had in a long time.

It took 45 minutes for seating of our group of 10, after we found a vacant table available, and we had reservations. It took 35 min before waitress took our orders, then another 40 min to get our food. Drinks took 30 min because they ran out of glasses, then they ran out of plates at salad bar. They were totally disorganized. People were waiting to be seated, but no one would bus the 10 or so dirty tables. Food was fair once we got it and our waitress was friendly. They seemed to lack management or direction. Write this place off your list. read more

Extremely slow and unattentive staff. Food obviously sat for a very long time on the warmer and the meals did not come out together. Probably the slowest service we have experienced at a restaurant in years. Would recommend trying other options in the area. read more

I've experienced one of the worst dining experiences ever in my life, we came out to dinner and decided to eat RT... We walked in and the place smelled as if someone had been smoking marijuana as were seated by the host. The waitress had one of the NASTIEST attitudes I've ever seen! From the time we sat down she was being all snotty and crabby! I ordered a alcoholic beverage that sat on the bar while other waitresses were reaching over it to get other orders... when she finally brought the drink to my table I explained that I didn't want it because it had sat there for over 15 mins... She then sucked her teeth, grabbed the drink off the table and started that she had other tables so it wasn't her fault that it sat there! Finally she brought out our order which was steak and loaded mash potatoes that wasn't loaded because she forgot the cheese! When my husband asked about it she huffed and said hold on.... I was then fed up with this visit so I gathered my items and walked out... Before getting to the dr the manager came out and apologized and said she'll send me some free dinners... read more

What a disaster! Seated promptly with my 91 yr old father. Ordered an entree and salad bar. Went to the salad bar, then waited 90 minutes for entree before leaving $$ for salad bar and tip (waitress was not to blame) and walking out. Must have been a rebellion in the kitchen because no one was receiving their food. Upon leaving, heard employees say "there goes another party walking out". read more

It wasnt many people there on a friday night if that tells you anything. We had to wait several minutes just to give them our drink order, the table beside us got tired of waiting and they just got up and left. The service is absolutely horrible. We had to find a waitress to bring us our drinks, we had to ask for silverware, we got appetizers and the salad bar and our bill was $46. They were out of lids for the to go cups. THE MANAGER WAS GETTING CALLED TO EVERY TABLE! We will never go there again. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The service was terrible. It took 15 minutes to be seated and they weren't busy. It took 20 minutes to order and it took 20 minutes to get our drinks. When the food came, my salad looked like it had been sitting under a warmer and the cheese was melted on it. After a few cautious bites I saw something weird and upon closer inspection it was raw chicken fat in my lettuce greens. Then the waitress didn't take it off my bill and I had to talk to the manager who didn't seem surprised, nor did he apologize. The waitress came back with a new bill and acted mad at me. I have always liked Ruby Tuesday, but may never go to another one after this experience. The bathrooms were disgusting with pee on all the seats and toilet paper on the floor and none of the food that the rest of my family members was any good either. This place has been terrible both times that I have been! Both times the exact thing has happened... You walk in and get passed by staff and finally after almost 10 minutes your seated. It takes 15 minutes to receive your drinks and you never get a refill unless you get up and go grab someone. Our food orders on both visits came our wrong and was never fixed! And we were never seen again to be checked on or to bring our checks. One of the worst places I have ever eaten in my life. Do t waste your time or money ( oh and a second note... In summary: slowest service ever. Food not well prepared . manager with little PR skills. this Ruby Tuesday Not recommended. I knew we were in trouble when we got seated and didn't see our server for 10 minutes. When the hostess wandered back by we asked her if she could please send a server to our table? The server then showed up another 5 minutes did his spiel about drinks and appetizers. We ordered drinks and declined appetizers. It took another 15 minutes to see him again, and placed our food order We then didn't see the server at our table for approximately 25 minutes. I did see him occasionally at other tables, but even then it looked like he was in la la land...space cadet ... slow. We had to request another drink as we waited for our food order, and obviously saw no signs of our food. The place wasn't that busy . The food had obviously sat at the kitchen for a while prior to making it to our table. Everything was luke-warm. and only part of the order came , where's my shrimp It looked as if the part of the meal they brought had been prepared satisfactorily, but the wait time prior to getting to us wasn't helping any. The hostess the best person in the whole place , she reported our concern about the missing shrimp and the server assured me the shrimp would be right out , guess again , shrimp arrived 22 minutes later by the manager after my meal was done and the shrimp were not prepared the way I ordered The manager was very apologetic and asked if there was anything He could do ... hello a no brainer . To get our check we had to ask the hostess , couldn't find the server , the manager drops the check off and hopes we come back . We spent 1.5 hours there, and I suspect we could've sat longer if we hadn't aggressively pursued that check. There wasn't a discount , no coupon for another meal , sorry hope you come back , no brainer eh?? I do expect 5 star food/service/ambiance from a Ruby Tuesday's, thats how the other Ruby Tuesdays across the country are ... 5 stars . I do expect some semblance of service and decent food. We got none , but hats off to the young lady hostess who greeted us when we first arrived . I won't be returning to Roanoke Rapids restaurant again. one of the worst-managed restaurants I've ever been in.If you're staying at a Roanoke Rapids motel,DO NOT GO to this location.Unmotivated,poorly-trained staff.I was there last night.The waitress messed up my order(she punched in boubon salmon,instead of bourbon chicken).I knew not to send it back ,because it would have taken forever to get the correct order.Just getting simple drinks at our table took way too long,as well. read more

We used to come to this Ruby Tuesdays every time we came into Roanoke Rapids for business. Their service was always good, their salad bar is usually (but not always) plentiful and the food is good. They are pretty good about keeping the salad bar clean at lunch time. At dinner, I think there's room for improvement. We always bring our two babies and usually everyone is very kind and understanding. Today was different. We had a server by the name of Country that decided she would apologize to all of the customers about our children and said that her own kids would never act such a way in a restaurant. It was hurtful and embarrassing, as this was supposed to be a family celebration dinner. I went to management and they were very kind, compassionate, and understanding, however as I went to ask to speak to a manager, Country have me a dirty look. I don't know that we will go back, which is a shame because this was where we always stopped as a tradition upon coming to Roanoke Rapids. I do appreciate the many great wait staff and management that we have worked with in the past. read more
