We visited the Ruby Tuesday in Hopewell, VA tonight and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I ordered the salmon and it arrived clearly undercooked. We let our server know, and he was extremely attentive and professional throughout the entire visit. After the first issue, we could hear the manager speaking to the kitchen and specifically instructing them to temp the salmon before sending it back out. Despite that, the replacement salmon came out raw as well. At that point, the server offered to replace the meal with chicken instead, which we accepted. My daughter had originally ordered plain grilled salmon and received it correctly the first time, though raw. However, when the replacement salmon was brought out, it came covered in hickory bourbon sauce and was also undercooked. Throughout all of this, our server was fantastic and did everything he could to fix the situation. What was frustrating was the lack of management involvement. We heard the server tell the manager after the second issue that we wanted to speak with her, but she never came to the table. The manager only came over after the check arrived and I specifically requested to speak with her. Her explanation was that the salmon is cooked from frozen, which is why it was undercooked even though they were temping it. That explanation didn't make sense and raised serious concerns about food safety and proper thermometer use in the kitchen. My biggest concern is that my daughter ate a few bites of the first salmon before realizing it was raw. I cut into the second one right when it arrived. read more

Since many Ruby Tuesdays have closed, there are only two locations left in the Richmond area. This is my first time at this particular location and they had minimal wait staff available thus the BarTender had to take care of the bar and tables surrounding. Thus a significant wait time occurred. When the BarTender did make his way to my table, he apologized profusely and said that because I did wait so patiently that I was welcome to the salad bar while I wait for my food to be ready. I ordered the Impossible burger with Fries (very happy they have this option)! The restaurant was not overwhelming packed with people and the atmosphere was light. Maybe if more people frequented here, it would be a shiny reflection of its glory days! read more

Since there are no Ruby Tuesdays in our area we stopped off at the one in a nearby town for lunch. Amber took our order. She was very nice. There is a dining area and a bar area that is only for happy hour specials during certain hours. The music in the background is not too loud and their dining area comfortable. I ordered a new dish the shrimp, scallops and crab meat pasta. My wife had the bourbon salmon with rice and zucchini. She said that her salmon was tasty and flaky, just the way she liked it. My seafood pasta mix was good too. I even had to take some in a box for another meal later. read more

My husband got the salad bar. He went up to fix a plate, came back with hardly anything. He said half of it didn't look fresh, it wasn't being taken care of. My meal came, a guy man delivered it and I asked him where the rest was. He laughed and walked away, thats the only conversation we got. This place needs a serious Deep cleaning. This location is horrible. On April 27, I ordered ribs and some other food to go, picked it up and when I got home - I couldn't even cut into the ribs because they were so hard. I called and was told by the manager to bring them back and they would prepare more for me. I drive 30 minutes back and they do not have them prepared, and he tells me that they are going to get me more. As I am waiting, a few other patrons are eating and they order ribs, and they cannot cut into them, same issue. They make a complaint, and decide to leave the restaurant and do not finish the meal. So they bring them back to me in a to go bag but I decided to ask for a knife and try to cut into them and SAME THING they are hard as a rock. So I requested a refund. The manager disappears and does not come back to talk to me. Another woman starts being the middle man between the two of us and states that in 10 days I will receive a refund and they have to contact their corporate office for the refund since I ordered online. So I say I am supposed to leave with nothing and this woman gives me a piece of white paper where she writes they are going to give me a refund and claims that in the black marker signature that's the manager's signature, who still never returns and then they told the cook to start over with the ribs altogether and make a new batch. Absolutely ridiculous. It is now May 24th, and I still have not received a refund of $42.81. I emailed the corporate office and NOTHING. Horrible experience. read more

Today which is May 17th, we visited Ruby Tuesday in Hopewell. We were disappointed. I ordered a dish which supposed to represent a New Orleans dish. I tried it being that I am from New Orleans. The tilapia was extremely small and under cooked, the squash was still stuck together and was not cooked thoroughly. The rice was barely warm and was not rice pilaf as advertised. I sent it back! It was disgusting. My husband ordered a ribeye steak,, scallops , mashed potatoes, and roasted corn. The steak wasn't a ribeye, the corn was disgusting, and not roasted at all. The mash potatoes was ok and the scallops was good. This place is too pricey for the little food they serve. The cooks were awful, I will not ever eat at another Ruby Tuesdays ever again. Well we pass this location all the time but had a craving today and stopped in. Well we weren't impressed. As for the food - it was okay. Just okay. The biggest downfall for today's visit was the service. It was terribly slow. Oh, the server was polite but seemed to disappear and was not seen for a long time. He never checked on us during our meal and we were never offered a refill of our sweet teas, which cost $3.59. Which I believe is way higher than other chain restaurant's. I'm my opinion they were understaffed and they couldn't handle a small lunchtime guest. Again this place was not even close to crowded. I really want to thank Miach tonight for her service and attention to my family. Had a taste for some steak & baked potato. I wanted to cook at home, but my friend ordered and picked food up from here instead. I truly never really like this restaurant & have only been about twice over the years. This is a prime example why. It LOOKED good, but it didn't taste so good. The steak was tough, rubbery, bland, & had a sour taste to it. It's like when meat is about to go bad but you still cook it. Yuck!!! The baked potato tasted old & he ordered before 12 pm. You'd think it would be fresh. Even adding butter & seasoning did nothing for it. The broccoli was not tasty either. It left a bad taste in my mouth, so I spit it out. We had to visit the area today, stopped in for a quick bite to eat with friends who live in the area. Immediately I noticed the parking lot was really empty. Since this is my very first dine in restaurant since covid19 restrictions. Our party of 5 were seated in a corner that was 3 tables placed together with 8 chairs. Pretty good social distanced, even for my hubby and myself. My friend and her hubby along with her mom. There were a few other people in the restaurant scattered far from us. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly, arrived to the table with her mask covering her mouth. I instructed her to pull it up over her nose and pinch to nose bridge to secure it. HUMMM so she took our drink orders and returned with the mask down again with our drinks. Whiskey Wednesday so I ordered a Jack and Ginger which came just a bit over iced and weak. Appetizers took a while to come to the table. We were betting that they would be delivered with the food. I was so happy that they were not. Hubby is a official wing-a-holic received 8 piping hot crispy and tossed in a delicious hot sauce. I ordered spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips. Just boring and what it just it. Our entrees arrived piping hot. I was delighted to receive hot food. I feel like most times, your meals are prepared and sit under the heat lamp until the server gets a chance to bring them out. Again our waitress delivered them to us with her mask just covering her mouth. Penne pasta with blackened shrimp and sausage was flavorful, hot, whey went REALLY lite in the shredded parm, almost like it was a accident. Lol. Hubby ordered New Orleans seafood plate and substituted salmon for farm raised Talapia. Loaded baked potato and nicely steamed broccoli. This was a good meal and quickly made. Ordered food for delivery via Grubhub. We ordered potato soup. Was super thick and the portion equaled half a cup. Ordered the app sampler-Artichoke dip was also a super small portion. Rare that you have 3/4 of the chips left over, not worth the money spent. Consider ordering from other restaurants that offer the same food-will be less money and bigger portions. read more

Well, I was in the mood for a salad bar and they have one. That being said, let me start off by saying Amy our server was the highlight of this experience. Good job Amy! Now, the salad bar was pretty depleted when I made my first trip up. The staff did work diligently at restocking during our dinner. However, one of the staff doing so felt compelled to talk out loud about not being capable of handling salad bar restocking all on their own. Better for the customers to keep those feeling bottled up and vent in the back. Just a suggestion. The food was underwhelming and overcooked. 3 burgers and all where void of fluid or moisture. We're talking fry your mouth out while chewing dry. My wife and I got a half order of fries with our burgers, but Amy brought us out a few more to cover us. I have ordered delivery from Postmates twice this week from this restaurant. Both times, I ordered the T-bone steak and have not received it. I called the restaurant 6 times today to find out what was going on and if they even had the in stock. Unfortunately, they never answered the phone. It kept ringing, and then I got a Verizon message that the number couldn't be completed as dialed. Funny, when the phone connected, I learned how to place orders online, but when I was holding for manager, it couldn't be completed as dialed!!! This place was advertised on DoorDash as "Ridiculous Burger". Anyway our order which tallied up to almost 100- was a learning experience indeed. A complete and absolute waste of money. The food was probably the most disgusting order I can remember. The hoagie was dry and nasty tasting..None of the food came close to the great photos they post on their menu. Today was the last time I will eat at that restaurant. Went in for a special, $4 for entree with the purchase of salad bar, $11.99. Placed my order and went over to salad bar. Spinach was nasty and should go in the compost pile. Put some of the mixed greens and moved down the line. Most of the other ingredients should have been replenished. Time for blue cheese, had to scrape the bowl to get any dressing. Round 2 wasn't any better, the only thing they added was a watered down ranch dressing with the blue cheese dressing spoon in it. For the second time in three weeks we went to this Ruby Tuesday restaurant. Our first trip we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated and our waitress seemed put out that she had to wait on us. Food was okay but I noticed that after we arrived every person who entered was met, greeted and seated in a courteous manner not accorded to my wife and myself. I attributed this discrepancy to a shift change since we ended up with a different waitress than we started with. Today my wife wanted to go again, so we did. We entered the restaurant and initially waited by the hostess station. Just as a matter of situational awareness, I noted 5 employees in the restaurant area and three parties seated and eating except for one man at the salad bar. We were not greeted or told that some one would be with us. Quite the opposite, every employee studiously avoided making eye contact. We walked up and down the salad bar and still were not greeted. We waited for another 3-4 minutes and decided to leave. Before leaving, I asked to speak to the manager and expressed my disappointment. One big difference between our party and the rest of the patrons is that my wife is disabled and in a wheelchair. Both times we went to this restaurant, it seemed that the staff was reluctant to wait on us. If you don't want wheelchairs in your restaurant, put a sign outside. But of course that would be against the law. So the next obvious tactic is to dissuade us from remaining by treating us as if we are undesirable. That tactic is working. We will not be returning. I am angry, but not for myself so much as for my wife who is just now feeling sufficiently confidential to get out of the house. I would give zero stars if that were an option. I ordered curbside takeout Friday because my mother has dementia and it was raining so I didn't want her to get soaked coming in the restaurant with me to pick up the food. Upon arriving I parked in the curbside parking and called the restaurant to advise I was here. The number just kept ringing so I hung up after 5 minutes. The app said my order was complete so I went into the restaurant to pick it up. 5 people were waiting by the bar waiting on their take out as well. One guy grabbed a server as she walked by and she told him " I'm sorry we can't give u a refund you have to work with Uber to get that. He stormed out. Another person came in. The cooks kept loading take out on the top shelf, you could tell because it was in to go package versus the plates of food on the bottom shelf. The servers just kept walking past all of us waiting avoiding making eye contact and taking plates from the lower shelf to their sections. I finally grabbed a waiter and said the app says my order is complete can u please provide it to me. He said I'm sorry we don't have anyone working take out now. I asked can I just go grab it then looks like a ton of orders are up there. He said no. I asked the obvious so your going to let all of the take out food just sit there while all of us are waiting here, he said sorry and walked away. So I walked out. When I got home I looked on the app for a place to give feedback and it generated an email. That's was Friday, says a lot that no one has gotten back to me yet. Why would you let people order takeout if you have no one working it? It's an app just turn that feature off! So we were going to order pretzels and were told the pretzels were coated with butter and the mustard had dairy in it,too. So we ended up getting just the salad bar. Ordered some food to go. Hickory bbq chicken with mash potatoes and zucchini. I also ordered the tempura string beans. It was real simple to create an account and place my order online. I really liked that I could choose the pick up day and time from the online ordering system. My food was ready on time. Only thing I didn't like is that there to go containers don't have holes in them for the steam to escape which caused the tempura string beans to not be as crispy as they usually are. Finally someone answered and put me on hold once I told them I wanted to place an order. The lady left me on hold. 5 minutes later I called back again. She put me on hold again so I gave up and left. Guess who has just lost my business for good. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. The ribs were fall of the bone to the point of being overcooked, and clearly had not been smoked, and the onion rings with it were overcooked. The spinach and artichoke dip was clearly frozen, and served cold with with cold tortilla chips. My burger was fine, but nothing I'd ever repeat again. It's a chain restaurant in an economically depressed suburb.--I wasn't expecting gourmet, and the people and staff were perfectly pleasant. I am grossed out. We got sat at a table that was very tacky and sticky when I asked the waitress to wipe it gown she said that the tables just all feel that way. I then asked another waitress who was cleaning a table behind us if the table she was wiping was also sticky she said yes. She added that someone used the wrong cleaner a while ago and it has left the tables that way. Also that they were suppose to be making renovations but that they never happened so the floor and lights were not done either. It is really gross how the tables are. I took a baby wipe out of my bag and wiped the table and it had black gross stuff all over it. I can eat there with tables like that it is disgusting and very unsanitary!! read more
