The prices are average, not too expensive but you can chow down enough to feel overly full and ashamed while you lay in bed watching my 600lb life. I ordered the turkey biscuits and eggs with potatoes. My food..... was great. I ordered poached eggs just to shake things up a bit. It came out really good. The potatoes were large and crispy. The biscuits were big and juicy like a nice booty. I wanted to slap them but I just ate 'em. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and complimented the biscuits. They also had fresh juices they make on site. Morning meditation is dope. The prices were fair, better than most. Overall, this place is great, they have big booty biscuits the visuals are nice and the price is right. Give this joint a try, just make a reservation or be prepared to wait to be seated.

Its an option, but outside seating is not an option. When we asked if we could be seated inside (remember, first available), they said they would have to add us back to the waitlist (45 minutes) after we waited 30 minutes and although there were tables available inside. They need a better process for those who don't want to sit outside, especially in the cold air. Not to mention, I'm literally allergic to outside and yellow jackets are flying around everywhere. As were eating, things are falling from the roof onto our plates and into our food. We weren't sure if it was debris or pieces from a birds nest, but we stopped eating. Service was also not good. We ran out of drinks without anyone returning and asking if we wanted another. The toast also had a ton of butter and was not palatable. We love First Watch, but wont be returning to this location.

I looked up the history on Google because I was curious about how old this diner was. This little diner has been open since 1920 and in its current location since 1939. The food is good. The grits and greens are made with water so it's a little more runny than I like (I like my grits made with milk). The potatoes pancakes are always good, definitely a staple. I also ordered the biscuit and gravy, I will say this was not a favorite of mine. The gravy wasn't a smooth consistency and again made with water vs milk. The eggs and bacon, are just that. I ordered my eggs over medium they came out more so over well. Overall I like the Dixie, I go back every now and then. The inside feels and looks like your typical diner. Interior (8/10) - The inside looks good but the chairs at the glass tables were a little too tight for me so I decided to sit at the bar which was a good choice. The chairs at the bar felt a little wobbly but I didn't mind. I sometimes drive past this place during the night and it's always packed so I guess it's best for a post work visit. Service (8/10) - The staff were extremely friendly and on top of things and it's a local restaurant so I not going to complain. Food (9/10) - and now for the main attraction, the food tastes pretty good. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich and it was seasoned and savory. My friend ordered mozzarella sticks and they were the best mozzarella sticks I've had so far, crisped and cheesy to perfection. And the crab dip was pretty decent, too creamy and juicy to my taste (No Diddy). Overall, this place doesn't come off as a place for dinner for me but it's the perfect place for Lunch. 8.5/10
