Amazing value for the price! It's situated in the middle of nowhere, but the amount of food they give is crazy! We ordered beef and veggie fajitas and shrimp tacos. My beef fajitas were tasty! The meat was tender and well seasoned. Vegetables shone as well, particularly the bell peppers. This was a great stop for us on the way back from DC. Service was good, food came out fast. We stopped for a quick lunch on our travels south. What a pleasant surprise!! One side of the menu is American diner food with your burgers etc and the other side was Mexican food!!! I ordered the Enchiladas Supreme (1 cheese, 1 bean, 1 chicken, and 1 beef) with a tasty red sauce. My husband ordered the Quesadilla Texana which had cheese, beef, chicken, and shrimp inside a huge flour tortilla grilled to perfection! I wish I had taken a picture! My enchiladas were very good, but my husband picked the BIG WINNER! Thankfully he shares with me!! Quesadilla Texana is 5 stars and more!!! What a wonderful lunch! We got off the highway to use the bathroom at a gas station. Lucky for us, the gas station bathrooms were closed. We went to the adjacent Mexican restaurant, and they required us to buy something in order to use the restroom. We weren't very hungry, so we just got a cheese quesadilla. Then we ate it in our car. Then we went back and got another cheese quesadilla. It was the best cheese quesadilla either of us had ever had. Also, the bathrooms were extraordinarily clean. Food is just horrible. They are confused as to whether they want to be a Mexican or American bar food restaurant, unfortunately they do neither very well. The Mexican dishes in general are mediocre at best and the rice and especially the beans are really bad. We tried switching up and the wife ordered a burger with just mustard and onions. It had so much mustard on it I thought it was a joke, waiting for the camera crew to pop out. I ordered burgers and fries for carry out once after that and they screwed that all up as well. I didn't know what to expect so I ordered tacos and rice. I have never had tacos that were just literally ground beef with no seasoning what so ever. They offer diner food that is fresh made and a comfortable place to eat. Plus hand made potato chips (They're GOOD!) and a selection of locally made cheesecake and pies. Well, we have waited and waited for this place to open and what a disappointment it was. First the hours. On weeknights it closes at 5 or 7 o'clock. On Sundays it closes about the time other places are opening, at 2PM. Now, I work and I have about an hours drive to get home. I get off at 5 so I get home either after the place is closed or just as it is about to during the week. On Sundays I am in church until 12:30-1PM, depending on how wound up the preacher is, and this place is going to close as soon as I can get there. My wife and I did try it this past Sunday, with about 40 minutes to spare we slid in the door. I had seen their menu online and was looking forward to trying the meatloaf,being a bit of a ML fanatic myself. We were more than a little disappointed to be told, "Oh, since we close so early on Sundays we only offer breakfast today!" I ordered the breakfast sampler and my wife ordered the breakfast burrito. We waited for about 20 minutes for our food. My wife asked for salsa, for her burrito. They don't have any. My "sampler" consisted of bacon, ham, sausage, eggs and something which were supposed to be hash-browns. oh yes, and toast. My wife informs me that the burrito was fine except for the lack of salsa. We both sat there and poked and my "ham" for a bit. We finally concluded that they had literally taken a piece of lunchmeat, sandwich "ham" out of a package, fried it on both sides, and served it. "Leathery" would be my best way of describing it. The "sausage" was like something out of a can and smothered in pepper. No molasses on hand (this is the South, get with it folks). The bacon was good. The has-browns??? Ummm....hmmmm....I am thinking that they were rehydrated and not very well rehydrated before they were fried up. Kinda crunchy/chewy. What they were NOT were hash-browned potatoes. no toppings were offered other than the ketchup on the table. The eggs were ok. During the entire meal I had to use my hat to ward off the giant, annoying, DETERMINED flies which would not stop. We were seated next to the door though. We left right about the time they were due to close but people were still pouring in the door and the parking lot was packed. Dinwiddie CH has a critical shortage of eating places and folks are desperate. Overall, the staff were friendly, the facility is very nice, up todate and clean. The restrooms are nice. The food? Not so much. The hours suck. I just do not see us going back. read more

I dont even know where to begin. We stayed in Dinwiddie for a weekend and decided to give this place a try. We went there on a Friday evening. The waitress seemed a little unfriendly, not sure if it might just have been a lack of the language or something else. I ordered a Philly chicken wrap and my husband ordered the shredded chicken tacos. When we received our order, I got a sub instead of a wrap. My food was still ok. His tacos were a joke, I can't believe they actually serve something like this to a customer. I attached a picture of his tacos. It was plain chicken, no seasoning, some lettuce and cheese. They literally tasted like nothing and were dripping water. They also came wrapped in aluminum foil. The waitress asked him 3 times if he wanted another beer, in the meantime I was sitting there with an empty cup...I think they rather tried to make a sale on beer than to refill my soda. When we were ready to pay and asked for a check, She handed us the bill and just stood there waiting for us to pay right away. Very strange. We are definitely not coming back ever. read more

This spot is a hidden gem if you are on a road trip and tired of the usual fast food and chain restaurants. The food isn't amazing but is serviceable, the menu has a variety of items to please different crowds, the inside is super clean, and there is a quaint little outdoor space you can enjoy an ice cold beer on. If we could rate half of a star, we would. We had meatloaf and hamburger steak. Never had to use a knife to cut meatloaf before. It appears it was probably frozen and not cooked all the way thru, tough as shoe leather. They tried to cover it up with jar gravy. The "baked beans" was nothing more than a can of pork and beans. The hamburger steak was also tough as shoe leather, no flavor. NOTHING was fresh. For a diner, what a major disappointment. Since this is a restaurant run by a family that has other restaurants in the county whose food is good, it is hard to believe that they are passing this off as food.
