Love the food and they have great lunch specials. Their patio is so nice and the staff is very attentive.

Came in for a quick dinner at 5 o'clock with my fiance. First visit. I was a bit skeptical at first, but service was great and fast. Sat us to a table quickly. Grande burrito is huge and spicy for those that like a smoky roasted pepper kick. $7 jumbo margarita special on wednesdays

I orded steak and chicken enchiladas. It didnt come with rice so I orded that as a side which was $5 I think. The enchilada shell itself tasted like straight mop water. I dont know what they do with it so I took it apart. I wouldve been better off with just chicken, cheese and rice. I did order a strawberry daiquiri and it was good and strong!! I also orded mozzarella sticks and they were good.

We were greeted and seated right away. Friendly staff! We received our food quickly and it was AMAZING!

Visited with friends on a weekday. Since it was not packed, social distancing was easy. The staff had masks on. I ordered A carnitas plate. The food was delicious, but I didn't find it to be different from any other Mexican restaurant in the area. I will say -- the queso dip was AMAZING! I almost bought some to go.

It was a cool January evening when I found my way to El Caporal in Colonial Heights. Claimed by my little buddy to be "the best Mexican food in Colonial Heights!" It was high time I put this place to the test. Could El Caporal (aka The Chief) dethrone the mighty Patron? There was only one way to find out. I had no choice but to order my gold standard; carnitas. The server was adorable. She heard my fantastic Southern California Spanish accent and complimented me on it. It would seem there is not an abundance of Mexican people in Colonial Heights. The wait was minimal and the food arrived nice and hot. I really liked the refried beans, I found the rice to be fair. Seems to me they took the shortcut approach to making their Spanish rice. Using a bouillon cube in favor of blending up an onion and tomato. Then we got to the carnitas. They gave me a monster size portion which had a great crunch on them. Could I have used more fat and flavor? Yes, yes I could. They weren't bad, but they weren't good enough to take the #1 spot. I still wiped my plate clean. I fully intend to return to try other dishes. Their tacos, the carne asada platter, burrito asado, pollo sabroso, maybe even their enchiladas? One thing is for sure, I've been spending a lot more time in the Colonial Heights area.

Ordered ACP. The salad was drenched in sour cream and not much chicken. Taste of chicken and rice was good otherwise.

A wide variety of Mexican dishes. Plenty of seating. The food was mediocre: salsa was bland, queso wasn't hot, entrees lacked flavor.

Since we were informed that we couldn't make reservations on the same day, we did have about a 45 minute wait when we got there but we didn't mind. We were sent a link to track how far we were in line, which I thought was very helpful. Once we were seated, our server came over right away with waters. She was extremely nice and gave us time to look over the menu. The Potato Leak Soup was on their March Specials Menu so we decided to order that with a Bread Basket to start. The bread was delicious, very soft and warm, it was served with a whipped, honey butter and herbed oil. Unfortunately, the soup was cold when we received it. I'm not sure if it had been sitting a while but we did have them returned. Oddly enough, they were returned in a larger bowl, not the same size cup, but with the same amount of soup lol. It definitely was weird but it was indeed piping hot and the soup was delicious. The Crab Stuffed Mushrooms were great as well. I decided on the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, my daughter chose the Chicken Marsala and my sister went with the Hand Cut NY Strip. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp, the flavors were great and the NY Strip was cooked perfectly. My daughter wasn't a fan of her Chicken Marsala but they did switch it out for some Salmon. Overall, my daughter had a great birthday dinner yet again. Our server was new but we couldn't tell because she did a great job at making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious! I will always recommend Sedona Taphouse for anyone looking for a great meal and dining experience.

I so wanted to support this place over and over but I can and will not EVER go back to this place!…read more We came in at 6:22pm and placed our order for two sangrias, two orders for 3 piece wings (was suppose to have a slice of bread with it- never got that) and a BBQ sandwich. 25 minutes later we get two drinks, NOT sangria. The bartender comes over and apologizes for not having any garnish! Well? We also didn't any fruit since it was suppose to be a sangria. It tasted like a wine cooler that was mixed poorly. It was syrupy... The waitress took our order at 6:25 and did not come back to our table until after 7pm. When got a hold of another waitress and told her the drink was not good, she told my friend" why didn't you get up and take it back to the bar"! Excuse me? Last I checked we don't work with you or for you. Our waitress walked past us at least 4-5 times and never came to see about us. At 7:05 after the waitress STILL had not come back, my friend went to talk to the hostess and explained the situation. About five minutes later, the young man comes from the back and states the food will be out shortly... he comes back five to seven minutes later with chicken wings- no bread and some overcooked cabbage. My friend's bbq sandwich was cold and the bread was not toasted, Mac and cheese was cold- cheese was hard. The waitress comes back around 7:15( her first time back to us since taking the order) and asked how was everything. We asked for our checks and a box. She brings the check over, never apologized for the long wait time, inconsistent food and bad service! You know what my biggest complaint was? THEY OPENED AT 5pm on Friday on a happy hour special! We came at 6:22. You were not ready! It's the happy hour and the Friday before Christmas. How can you all be behind in service, no consistency, no garnish or fruit for sangria and no sliced bread for the chicken wings BUT you want us to support, leave huge tips and be happy with subpar service and food? Very disappointed and will NOT be back! Ambiance was meh! No Christmas music, no music period and it seems very chaotic in there. Ppl and tables were walking out. I live in Petersburg but I'll take the extra time and ride to Richmond, Chester or even CH. I wish you the best in 2026 but you have to do better if you want returning customers. Didn't take pics of food because I was so disappointed. let the record reflect I still tipped our waitress. She didn't deserve a tip but she is still human! And it's the holidays. Take care.

Perfectly fried and seasoned. Clam chowder was new england style. Delicious, but not hot. Just warm. We were so hungry we didnt send back. Got a local IPA on tap. It was warm & stale. Our server was so kind & honest about it. She shared that several people returned their tap beers that day because they were warm, and admitted she didn't know enough about beer to help me so the bartender would come over. Wow! That's outstanding customer service! Apparently the IPAs in bottles were EXPIRED as per the very nice bartender. So I got a Sam Adams instead. Whatever, you're here for the seafood and it is excellent. Just disappointed with a huge bar, you would expect the beer to be ok. Our server, i wish i could remember her name because she was so nice and smiley. Definitely would return here if in area again. This was a pit stop on a roadtrip vacation.

What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. A few in our group ordered the Masterpiece Theatre cocktail on our waitress's recommendation -- she did not steer us wrong! Food-wise, everything was a hit. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. Such a great experience all around -- can't wait to go back and try more wines!

They like what they are doing. It's in a strip mall parking lot so parking is pretty easy; if it's crowded, you might not be able to park right in front of the restaurant but there's still plenty of parking. We chose flights of wine to start out and really enjoyed each of the three we picked. For appetizers we got the pumpkin hummus and the Muhammara which is a roasted red pepper and walnut dip with toasted pita. My friends enjoyed their hummus, and my husband, and I thought the pepper and walnut dip were out of this world. We wanted more for dinner. The pita was the perfect crispiness and accompaniment for the dip. Having had limp pita at another restaurant recently makes me especially locked in on this detail lol For mains we got the duck confit tacos, the gnocchi bolognese and the hippie chick salad with roasted salmon. My friend enjoyed her salad, but I forgot to ask how she liked the roasted salmon on top. It looked tasty and was something I was considering for next time. I got the duck confit tacos which were definitely different from your standard fare and had a nice kick to it without being overwhelming. On my first bite I thought it was gonna be too spicy, but the heat did not build to unbearable. Still not sure I'm a fan of duck, but it was done very well and I wasn't disappointed. My husband's gnocchi Bolognese was done perfectly. I was shocked how light and pillowy the gnocchi were and loved the Bolognese, which was the perfect amount of savory without being too rich; elevated comfort food for sure . We were too full from dinner to order dessert which kept our bill down to a little over one Benji for drinks, one appetizer and two beans, , which is pretty typical for a nice meal out these days. I do miss the days when you could go out for $30-$45 a person even with a shared appetizer and drinks but WW is more on the reasonable side compared to most. We will definitely be back though and Iwoll be investigating the private room option for a milestone birthday or anniversary. Well done WW!
