I'll start by saying that as usual we sat at the bar for the tall shares for my bf. I only had water and due to water restrictions in colonial heights Va I had bottled water which made me happy lol. Troy had a mixed vodka drink which is said was delicious. We intentionally ordered something to share. We both highly recommend the ahi tuna and we added asparagus and a blue cheese walnut salad. All of it was absolutely delicious. I was freezing so we decided to go run a few errands and told our bartenders we would be back. Which we did. Troy decided to get prime rib French onion and wedge salad. As soon as he started on the prime rib he said it's the worst he had ever had. Full of gristle and way over salted. They did comp his meal but boy he's still feeling all of the salt a day later. The soup and salad he said was delicious as always. There was another lady at the bar who order a baked potato and steamed broccoli. She had to send it back several times. First couple times the broccoli was yellow. Then way undercooked almost raw. Our bartenders and the servers were great and on time with food. And as always we will probably go back because every place has off days. The bathrooms were so gross this time though. I literally took hand sanitizer to clean the toilet seat I wanted to use. Not the staffs fault if they didn't know. That's on the other patrons. So gross. read more

My husband, father, and I came during lunch to get a quick bite after some work around the house. The bartender was our waitress and she was a nice older woman. She was also very overwhelmed with all the tables she had. We ordered our food and got bar drinks pretty quickly. I got the new crocodile cocktail and it was delicious. My husband never got his water he asked for. Once we got our food my potato soup was missing so I asked the food runner about it and they apologized it didn't come out before the meal and I said it was fine. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Alice chicken was delicious. By the time I got my soup I was already done eating. The bartender was busy and we didn't see her much at all. Eventually we tried to pay on the machine at the table but it wouldn't accept our giftcard. My dad went and found her and asked her to come over so we could pay. While she was there I also asked for a box, a ramekin, and a soup cup. She ran the gift card and brought back a box saying we could pay on the machine now. I asked about the soup cup and ramekin again. After paying she finally came back with the soup cup but no ramekin. I was getting ready to just leave with the bowl of soup had it taken any longer. Had a really great time at Outback in Colonial Heights. The hostess were so nice and welcoming, and we were able to be seated right away. We went at a time where a large party had just left, but they cleaned it up in a jiffy. We ordered appetizer of the mushrooms and they came out piping hot. It was so fresh and tasty. I almost wanted to order an additional set, but I've decided against it. I ordered the ribeye steak with a loaded, baked potato and a side of broccoli and everything came out great. The steak was cooked properly. The baked potato was fresh and fluffy, and the broccoli was the just right level of firmness. Whenever I'm in the area and have a taste for a steak, I'm going to stop by Outback. You can try for advanced seating so that you and your party don't have to wait too long. read more

What could not have honestly went wrong on this visit. First time service was okay but the second time around the service and food that was received was just horrible. It went down hill has soon as we sat down. The server greeted us but took more than 15 minutes to bring our drinks. There was a group of six and one had a kid. He ordered fries as an appetizer for his kid but not only did the fries never come out, the food came out and still there was an excuse on why the fries never came out with the appetizer. The dad said that he would liked them before hand so I am not sure where there was a miscommunication was with the server. All the server kept saying was that they are coming. The fries never came out and he was still charged for them at the end. I ended up trying the Mac and cheese balls and they were just okay. For my main meal I got prime rib but when it came out it was way over cooked. When I told the server he made a smart remark as if I did not know what I ordered. I reassured him I knew exactly what prime rib was how it was cooked. I know what a med rare prime rib should look like how it should have came out. It took over 25 minutes for my new med rare prime rib to come out. So it got packaged Togo but with no creamy horseradish or au jus dipping sauce, so we waited another 15 minute for that to come. At that point I honestly just watched the server with his tables and it just showed that we probably were not only table getting bad service. The experience overall was just so bad. We ended up spending more time there than we wanted all because of poor service. In all we spend over 2.5 hours there just to eat at home. read more

These people are getting a 5 star review based on service alone!! Our waiter Tyler was out of this would fantastic!!! He was kind and funny. My dad was with us and he is in his 70s and Tyler was so sweet and showed a lot of patience. I asked another waitress a question and she didn't even say this isn't her table or anything, she just helped and I loved that. Tyler even sung happy birthday to me!!! Oh goodness! What a great evening. The ribs and coconut shrimp was sooooo good. The salmon was so good!! The steak and shrimp pasta was a little on the dry side and didn't have much flavor.... But it's okay... I wasn't a fan of the Mac n cheese.. BUT... i would try it again without the breadcrumbs on top... every thing else was so good!! We had those wings as an appetizer!!! And let me tell you!!! Service was absolutely horrible to include the on duty manager. we called @4p for call ahead seating , party of 12. upon our arrival at 452p we had all 12 people there waiting and we were told we had to wait . So after further conversation with the hostess she stated there were tables being held for a group of 25 coming in at 6p. We asked to speak to the manager and he said the same . We also added as a senior group of Veterans we were unfairly treated and made to separate to have dinner and celebrate a 71 year old mother's birthday. Jackie works at lunch time and she is Great! Very friendly and she makes sure the order is correct. I would come here just to be served by her. Typical Outback Steakhouse decor. I order the lunch ribs with salad and broccoli. The meal also came with dessert. and my wife ordered the sirloin steak with sweet potato. 5 stars for each meal and especially the service! I was out voted for Thai food, so we ended up here.. wamp, wamp. I didn't want to be disappointed, so I went with a classic cheeseburger and fries. Our party of 5 met for lunch after our various early morning meetings. Immediately entering, I noticed the slippery floor on a dry day. We were greeted by Dominique, our busy friendly waiter. He managed all our requests with a pleasant smile. We all ordered water and Long Island Ice teas Top Shelf for 3. We enjoyed the soft warm bread, hubby ordered the Mac n cheese bites. Fried Mac and cheese is still strange for me. Our house salads came out. Followed in good time by entrées. My simple cheeseburger with hot fries. Nicely dressed with Outback crispy onions, special sauce, melted cheese, spicy pickles, shredded lettuce, and a cold roll. Still, I cut the juicy burger, and most of the center fell out mostly raw. 3 or 4 bites in the half burger continued to frustrate me, and I set it to the side as I saw no recovery for it. Dominique did come out and ask how the meal was at the table. He offered another burger. Shortly after Matt, the manager came and sincerely apologized. Everyone else was finished eating, as my new complete meal arrived. I grabbed a few bites of the new, well cooked burger and boxed the rest to go. I appreciate Matt replacing the meal. My family all enjoyed their meals. My sister rib eye was cooked to perfection and tasty as she shared with me a couple of the large steak. From start to finish this visit to celebrate a birthday had 5 star service. Welcomed and seated immediately. Had our drink order within 2 minutes of sitting down. The waiter was amazing. Running and taking care of each table with a smile . Other staff would help when they saw a need. Mentioned we were there to celebrate a birthday and they surprised our table with song and ice-cream.... The meal deal was amazing with a salad, side, entree and dessert....Try the coconut shrimp.....above par service and good food. Today's visit was less than average which was disappointing. Sunday @ 12:50pm check-in. Greeted and sat immediately. Then the wait started. I'd say a solid 8 minutes before my wife had to check in with the hostess to make sure someone was working our section. I was ready to leave at that point but she talked me down. I had been watching all sections in my area to see who it could be. Another 6 minutes goes by and as one of the floor managers notices my facial expression asked if we were okay. As I responded, "No, no one had greeted us yet." A female voice from behind me said, "I am right here." Now that normally would be a relief, but, as she stepped to the table, it was the person I had been observing in our immediate section the whole time. She sat at one table speaking to a group of 4. Walked past our table twice empty handed, off to another table. She didn't introduce herself. Just straight to business. We were ready to order right then. We had plenty to review the menu. However, my wife had a question about side options and instead of list them, she told my wife to flip the page to see the options. At this point I might be nitpicking. Next up. I ordered a side salad (hold the wilted lettuce) and that came out before our three beverages. That was another five minutes. I observed similar service to the table adjacent to us, but others it was a totally different display. That's the first time I heard her introduce herself. At that point I was over the experience. The burger I ordered was tasty. My son and wife enjoyed their sandwiches, but complained about the fries being lukewarm and possibly under cooked. Overall it was not worth the expense. My salad had a weird taste, my fries weren't crispy, or hot and my steak was cooked medium well. I give the food 4/10. The service was impeccable though, and the ambiance was there! My colleagues and I went to lunch at Outback for a special occasion. The service was cheerful and on point. Our server, Jackie was a real treat. She had a bubbly personality and served our group of 7 with friendly professionalism. The food was received in two waves (indicating kitchen issues). Very few customers were on site at the time. If you have read any of my previous reviews, you will know that I love my burgers and have high expectations. The brioche roll, lettuce, bacon were fresh and tasty. Now for the burger... Small, flat, gray and flavorless burger. This is was a huge disappointment. The prime rib sandwich of one of my colleagues was reported to be "ok". We celebrated my husband's birthday yesterday by eating dinner at Outback's. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. The issue was the taste and quality of the food - my husband had a medium cooked 8 oz. fillet, and he said it was one of the worst steaks he has ever had. The steak tasted like it was bathed in pepper so you couldn't taste the meat flavor at all - only pepper. I had the 1/2 rack of ribs and again the meat was coated in pepper, even the barbeque sauce couldn't kill the taste. We went this afternoon with another couple. We were sat quickly but 20 minutes later we had not even been greeted by a server. My husband went to the front desk and asked for someone to come to our table. When she did she took all orders at once. Drinks, apps and entree. We got one app and were waiting a long time for the blooming onion. The salads came before that did. I ordered the prime rib and when the food arrived they handed me a strip steak. I let her know it was incorrect and she took it back. Suddenly a manager appeared and rudely told me they had sold out a couple hours ago and asked if I wanted something else. Between his rudeness and abrupt tone and the fact that everything had taken so long and everyone else at the table had their food, I declined. A second manager cane to the table and she was much better but it was too late for me at that point. She removed our appetizer and gave me a coupon for a feee one in the future but we will not be back. My husband's steak was over cooked. His salad had mass chunks of lettuce that were not cut up at all. We struggled to get empty things removed from the table and waited an insane amount of time for drink refills and our check. There are too many other options to have that kind of experience. When we left our friends called it an interesting experience. They said they will not return either. read more

If they had a negative on the review that's what I would rate them. I'm a manager at a restaurant also and never have I heard to tell the customers that none of the servers want your party that you are with. Host didn't know anything ask for manager and she said sorry you should have called. It was a party of 10.. then I ask was that the policy then she stated no but the servers are overwhelmed. I would think that's when the manager come into affect and help out... didn't get her name but she did have a nose piercing!!!! read more

Visited on Dec 13, 2024 for supper to celebrate my and my wife's birthdays. At 4:00 we had no trouble being seated. My daughter and son in law treated us. Our waitress was outstanding. Always on time, friendly, and patient. When our blooming onion was a little late coming a manager came to our table explaining it had been overcooked and they were doing another. He took it off of the bill and gave my daughter a chit for a free one the next time she visited any Outback. Our orders were served on time, fresh, and well prepared. What a wonderful experience. We ordered 2 apps and a full rack of ribs dinner. Delivery was very fast, nice driver. But the food could was subpar at best . Ribs were dried out like pork jerky, brussel sprouts were black on the outside and raw inside (paid extra for the inedible experience), our apps were okay nothing special; wings bland,shrimp on barbie tasty but the bread they came on was totally sogged yech. My friend commented that it was a wasted c note. I agree, sad. read more

Came in tonight for a change of our regular spots, and was assigned the a waiter that was asking us "would you like anything else?" on his first trip to the table. We hadn't ordered a drink or food...can you see we're at a cleared table? Unfortunately...we proceeded to correct his mistake and ordered drinks and food. He continued to have numerous similar trips to our table...was rushing us to clear plates while we had forks in our mouths. Then after we were fed up with him (not the food), we asked for our bill. As soon as we signed the receipt, he was back to pick it up like he was jonesing for something. If you go to this sad place and get Jordan B...just grab your coat/purse and walk out. If you are into chain steakhouses, this is one to visit. The service was prompt and kept our beverages refilled. Filet Migon was served exactly as requested and tender. Lobster was hot and not over cooked and chewy. Broccoli was ala dente and bright green( thank goodness for baking soda!) And baked potato came as requested and not cooked three weeks ago! Prices were very reasonable for steak and lobster. This place gave me exactly what I went there for; a nice job for a busy Friday night. This is as it should be!
