It seems every time I go out they can't cook steak. I ask for "well done" and they brought me under cooked so I had it sent back. Few minutes past and it looked ok but as I was eating the other small piece I notice it was still under cooked. Are you serious! I was thinking OMG so the manager came over and only offer me something else. I was thinking in my mind that so they can screw that up too. So said no thanks. People I guess I am going to have to become OCD and check every crumb of food from now on. Can't trust folk. read more

Pretty good location. Staff was friendly and food was tasty. My chicken cost like $18 which seemed a little expensive but it was good. I would recommend checking this place out. The croutons in my salad were super fresh, they were still hot. read more

I gave this a 1 star because there was not any less. We are from out of town and my wife wanted fresh coffee and we were told, after waiting 10 minutes, at the table that the waitress told us that she did not have time to brew a fresh pot although we were told by the guy who brought my beer there was a fresh pot on. Do not know the gals name or I would definitely put that on here. To start with she brought our water and slopped it on the table soaking the table and never even tried to apologize. She was very rude and extremely slow. This place should be shutdown. The guy that sat us tried to do his best, but with the incompetent wait staf it was impossible. Never again read more

We were sat down right away and our drinks taken. We took about 8 minutes to scan over the menu. I asked for a bacon cheeseburger but forgot to ask for it plain. I caught this 3 mins later and informed my waitress. The burger came out with fully furnishings on it. I respectfully requested it be fixed. The waitress took it upon herself that meant to remove the furnishings in the burger and bring it back out immediately . I caught this when I opened my bun up and then got the waitresses attention. I asked her why the burger was not new. It had scrapped off sauce and the pickle seeds were still there. She said I had too late asked for the change to my burger. So they decided to bring out the burger with everything on it. I requested they make a new one. The waitress said she didn't want to bother the kitchen. She said if it was okay if she came out with a new bun instead. I had to refuse this offer multiple times in a row, with her pushing on the busy nature of the kitchen each time, before she finally conceded to bring out a new burger. The new burger was received 5 minutes later. I don't know why I had to argue for a new burger. Yes I understand I asked for it plain three minutes later but this didn't change how weird this was. To be fair, I don't fully blame the waitress, management grilling into staff about bringing food out to tables causes this type of thing to become common place. The new burger was hot and so were the fries. When we presented a single coupon at the end we were met with a cross attitude that we were supposed to present the coupon at the beginning and announce it. Overall a bad experience with rude staff & okay food to boot. Please train your staff and please don't let your staff get away with such rude behavior. This place has gone downhill. I used to go there for the salad bar to go, the lettuce was slimy, and some of the vegetables were either non existent or appeared old. I thought maybe it was a bad day but went there 2 weeks later and it was the same. The bar tender had no idea to place a to go order and the manager was more involved with singing to the music playing and talking to staff about the weekend than she was of actually seeing the up keep of the facility and staff. read more

For some reason I've found myself here twice in the middle of the afternoon when it's deathly quiet and I had to find a host after standing around getting ignored. So, don't go between lunch and dinner. This last time (really), I got a salad that was pretty good, but food from the back of the salad bar trails to the front in globs and I have to pick through for fresher toppings. Maybe they could make sure it's cleaner? I also got the veggie mini sliders which were killer and I'm definitely going to make at home (only a little healthier). Terrible service. Our server -- we'll call him J. -- is not in the right line of work. He started off by slamming our drinks on the table with more force than was necessary. Then he said he would bring us biscuits, but they never came. We asked about them 20 minutes later, and he said 2 minutes on the oven. Well after we were nearly finished with our meal, he finally dropped off three little burnt up, hard biscuits that disintegrated into crumbs if you tried to tear a piece off. In the meantime, he stood around and told one of the waitresses about how he proposed to his girlfriend. Ok, but where are these alleged fresh-out-of-the-oven biscuits!? We were hoping to get in and out of whatever restaurant my father chose fairly quickly, but yeah right. The food tasted fine, but it took forever. What a waste of an afternoon -- we should've vetoed my dad's choice. We observed a couple at another table with a different server get up and leave because they were all but forgotten after the waitress took their drink order. They sat at least 20 minutes waiting on their drinks, but the waitress never returned before they walked out. Got there to meet up with someone. Hostess just stood there and looked around while a waiter actually walked around to help me find them and it wasn't even my waiter. Bathroom door was sticky and toilet paper everywhere. Ordered a steak medium rare. Came out medium, but my meal tasted good regardless. Got dessert, cake was basically frozen and had to stab it with the spoon to get a bite. I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for a few years now. In the last months I have noticed a steady decline in service and portions of food. I am sure this a result of the pandemic and labor shortage. The one issue I have is that lately I can not depend on opening times. Sign says 11:00 am. Sometimes it is 11:15 and once 11::30. Yesterday was probably the 20th time we've eaten at RT on Madison, and every time we go it seems to have slipped just a bit more. We were there in the early afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner and they tried their best to seat us in the bar/lounge area. Had to spell it out several times that we did not want to sit in the bar/lounge area. Not sure why they were so dead set against us sitting in the main restaurant area. After all, both of us had showered and applied deodorant that morning and we were neatly dressed, so not sure what the issue was all about. The food: We ordered entrees -- bourbon salmon and a rack of ribs, both edible, but nothing really outstanding. The "rice pilaf", however, looked and tasted like it had been sitting on a steam table since the Carter Administration. The Ceaser Salad was really a disappointment -- soggy, wilted Romaine lettuce and a few croutons with dressing drizzled on the top. Probably not as old as the rice pilaf, however. I'm guessing more like something in a Clinton - Bush timeframe. Overall, the doggie box was the best part, and very popular with a couple of four-legged family members who liked RT's cooking a whole lot more than we did. Service: I supposed you could call it that. There was a gal who brought out the food and drinks, and we seemed to be her only table. I think she must have been practicing for a new career as a magician's assistant because she did a marvelous job of vanishing into thin air and staying "vanished" for long periods of time, especially when drinks needed to be refilled, or if we were waiting for the check. I wonder what will replace RT on that corner when it finally goes under. read more

I inquired about their gluten free protocols prior to placing an online order. We ordered 2 burgers, one with a gluten-free bun, appetizers and desserts. When my husband arrived according to the pickup time the order it wasn't ready so he waited. I had pre-paid for our dinner yet they asked him for his card. I'm like your driver's license to make sure you are who you're saying you are? And he's like no, they said we need to pay. ...We got that eventually worked out and apology accepted. Unfortunately, our order was incorrect when he brought it home. They didn't mark which burger had the gluten free bun or fries. I called and spoke to the manager and she apologized for the mixup and agreed the gf items should've been labeled. She relayed she would contact corporate and provide us with a credit. Well, several phone calls and 2 months later we still haven't received the credit. In today's restaurant business food allergy protocols (especially when you inquired prior to ordering) should Never happen. Horrible food. The fried pickles which cost just under $9 had very few pickles a lot of loose extra batter to make it look like more and were very oily/greasy. I ended up not eating these they were disgusting and definitely ever if they were good would not have been worth what they cost for what you get. The Mashed potatoes were very thin and running, also disgusting. The dirty rice was pale and had little flavor to it but better than the other two items. And the ribs at best was tolerable but not at all enjoyable to eat. I will not be going to this restaurant again after this experience. Fast food taste much better and is much cheaper read more

Wednesday lunch post rush. Place is at 40% capacity and I, party of 1, am first and only in line for a table. 7 minutes pass before I'm seated and another 6 for the menu. Menu plus 11 minutes waiter takes drink order only ( no pad, will return shortly) ...........45 minutes in and just ordered lunch, a Blue Cheese Burger, White Cheddar and a salad. ........... at about the 1 hour mark my food arrives and on the first bite halh of the bootom bun falls off because its stale and dry. There is as much blue cheese as there is beef on this burger, which I'd like if it were any quality at all. The white cheddar mash was brownish, BUT... The salad was ok. Oh yeah, the hostess will not speak to anyone, waves menus to say follow me and is wearing a red bra! So sad its comical!!! read more

It was dry, hard, and looked as if it's been sitting out allday. The house long island tea was disguising, sent that back. Tasted like watered down spiked raspberry tea. The salad bar was delicious as usual. And the waitress, horrible. Very direct, inattentive to our needs. With a combination of bad food and poor customer service... On our recent visit to the restaurant, we had a trainee waiter who was clearly trying hard but alas, was woefully inept. He was not ready to be on his own. A second waiter finally helped him out and we did get our order at last, but the food was indifferent and it took forever to get a simple gin and tonic from the bar. I had the grilled salmon which was tasteless and overcooked. The salad bar was only okay; selection was limited and some choices looked bedraggled. I'm not a big fan of this chain as a rule, but this particular restaurant left a lot to be desired. read more

Went there on 8/29/18 around 3pm. Maybe a total of 6 people there to eat. Got seated right away in a booth by a very unprofessional hostess if you will. Reviewed menu. We as a party of 2, sat and kept waiting for our waitress to come and at least take a drink order in which no one showed up. This after about 10 minutes of sitting there with menu' s closed. It gets better, right behind us sat a manager who was on her computer who never acknowledged we were there. Needless to say, we walked out and went elsewhere. A very pleasant experience. I was with a party of six after church this past Sunday. Our server was very sweet and prompt in refilling our drinks. I ordered the smoky mountain chicken with spaghetti squash and the salad bar. I recommend this dish but without the cheese. It comes also with bacon and BBQ sauce on top which was delicious. The salad bar was very fresh with the exception of the massive bowl of chopped onions. The smell of them was overpowering and my eyes actually watered up every time I went to get a salad (I'm a veggie fiend, what can I say). I think a smaller bowl of onion pieces would have sufficed. I did like their different choices of greens though and that they had oil and vinegar for dressing instead just having cream-based dressings. Overall I really liked how they have great variety of healthy side options and you aren't just stuck with fries. Lots of fruit and vegetable choices, including in the kids' meals. We've eaten here several times and there's been a problem every time. Usually the problems are related to slow service or the food taking too long to come out. But there have been other things like the time my entree was forgotten when everything else came out right, the salad bar was practically empty once and we had to wait for it to be restocked, and we've had orders messed up. I have one kid that woke up with food poisoning from the burger I got them, the zucchini that I ordered was mushy with grease, the steak I ordered was dry, tasteless and 90% gristle. The only things that were edible was my lobster and rice pilaf and my son's brussels sprouts. Not a good deal for $50. I'll bet money this place is shut down by year's end. Food was not very good and definitely overpriced. Ordered a burger medium and it was at least medium well. Not a bit of pink in it. My husband ordered the Thai Foon Shrimp and said it was salty and he couldn't detect any of the chili sauce that was supposed to be on it. My daughter was clearly ordering from the children's menu and asked for the raspberry lemonade. The server asked if we wanted the kid's size or an adult sized "because we have to charge for refills." I wish I had paid better attention because the kids' menu clearly says free refills so I don't know if that was her way of avoiding having to refill my daughter's glass or upselling us to a $3.79 drink for my 10 year old. We had to get the check corrected because our server rang up my daughter's $1.99 salad add as a completely separate kid's meal and my salad sub side as a $3.99 add. Never again! read more

my sweet husband invited me to a late lunch or early dinner at my choice of restaurants near us.we decided between a local new mexican place near home or ruby tuesdays at madison st.it wasn't busy when we walked in.we were happy to see our favorite server and to be seated in her area.her name is ellen.our food was excellent.i just had the salad and fruit.he had the steak,shrimp and ribs.i'm a vegetarian but tasted a bite of the ribs.they were great too.the salad bar was fresh, clean and not crowded either.i've met the day manager and ellen the same day about 3 years ago and just fell in love with both of them.i've told him what an asset ellen is to this place too.my husband said his food was hot,fresh and cooked perfectly.i've always believed in if you have bad service you would complain and being in customer service for almost 40 years i know a lot of people will never say anything good about your service or leave a good review but I believe we should especially reward people and places like this Ruby in Clarksville on Madison St. read more

On Saturday evening, 8/20/2016, my family and I went to get dinner at your location on Madison Street in Clarksville, TN. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 6:30pm. The restaurant was not full and we were seated immediately. We placed our food orders when our waitress, Allie, came to get our drink orders. We got our salads from the salad bar and waited and waited and waited. Our waitress came by to say that the kitchen was backed up and our food would be right out. By 7:30 another lady came around, she could have been a manager, I wasn't sure, and we asked to have our meals packaged to go because we had an impatient and hungry two year old. At that time, I took my child out to wait in the car. 20 minutes later, by husband finally received our food and was able to pay and leave. The waitress at that point apologized and said that she was sorry, it was her first night by herself. Two different explanations for the bad service, I'm not sure which it really was. The waitress didn't offer to compensate us in any way for our meals and when we got home, my husband's order was wrong. He ordered a baked potato with his steak and got french fries. It was overall a very unpleasant experience and we will not be returning. read more
