First off, the hostess was horrible. She was rude and very chaotic. A lot of motion but she was not very efficient. The table was clean and the chairs were not wiped off so there were leftovers from the previous guests. Two servers for the entire restaurant. Where was the manager? Ruby Tuesday's used to be crappy, then they reorganized some stuff and it got better... I thought. This trip there will last me for the next five years or more. After four days of having difficulty finding a decent restaurant, Ruby Tuesday was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was clean. The staff were friendly and our waitress was accommodating. The salad bar was fresh with many good choices. I had the mini turkey burgers, my husband and daughter-in-law the mini burgers and my grand daughter had the pasta and veggies. Today we decided to grab a bite to eat between events. First and foremost the restaurant was slow at first. I could tell the front of the house was low on staff. We were sat, and ordered drinks, we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. The bar drink took 10+ mins as well as the waters. When we ordered everything was just really slow. Those that ordered the salad bar really enjoyed it. However the food was incorrect on one of 4 plates and one another plate was a big hair under the food. This plate was compd by management and we opted for the salad bar instead of a replacement. . All around the service was ok. Could have been alot faster and smoother. A big issue is the lack of staff. This location is surrounded by major hotels and we thought it would be fast experience. Don't be in a hurry if you go and focus on salad bar and you'll be fine! read more

Dirtiest bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant, really. The dirt caked in the corners and grease on the doors would have made your stomach curdle. I regrettably ate my food prior to going in the restroom, boy now I wish I hadn't.... because if you don't have pride to take care of your bathroom, there is probably little pride in the kitchen. Besides the food being 'chain quality' the state of the interior is sadly declining. I just ate at the restaurant tonight and had to change booths because my side of the booth was broken. The wait staff RARELY gets an order right. The food often comes out lukewarm, and don't even give them special instructions like "may I have my side salad before my meal". It always comes out together. Often, if you sit at the bar waiting for a take out order, almost all of the wait staff will be behind the bar socializing. I was there the other night with the entire restaurant full and almost every single waiter was behind the bar chatting. I don't know if the kitchen and the wait staff get any training, but it is NOT apparent. I gave this place 2 stars because of the salad bar. Someone should teach the staff to hustle and make sure they can get orders right. Maybe because it's a small town, maybe the staff thinks that no one will complain. Put the customers first. Cook the food correctly and get it to the table in a timely manner. read more

Had a horrible experience with a waitress a few months ago. Never refilled our drinks, snotty attitude like we were bothering her, and just wasn't up to normal RT's quality. Plus the food portions are hit or miss, with it usually missing. Decided to try again a few days ago, and we got the same waitress. We wasn't happy, but we decided to give her another shot. We all have bad days, right? Yeah... no. Another horrible experience. Waitress would be gone for a long time, and forget to bring us stuff we asked for. Had to be chased down for a refill and again, met with attitude in a way. We decided right then RT wasn't for us anymore. I hate not tipping, and usually I tip 20-30%, but when I tip ZERO... there is a big definite problem. read more

Went Thursday evening 5-10 and the place was total chaos with staff. When we walked in the male employee at the entrance said it would be a 20-30 minute wait. Mostly all tables without customers were dirty. I told him we couldn't wait that long and asked him if it was because of the dirty tables. He literally rolled his eyes and he walked over to a dirty table and at a snails pace started bussing the table. I think I have seen snails move faster then he was moving and I felt he was doing it deliberately. We waited another 5 minutes and he was still cleaning the same table. We left and went next door to the Waffle House. I drove around the building and could see empty tables on the back area by the windows. I got mad and tried to call the restaurant and no one answered. Tried again 10 minutes later and a lady answered. I asked to speak with the manager and the lady asked what it was about. I explained I wanted to complain on how my wife and I had been treated. She said hold on and I hung up the phone 8 minutes later when no one picked up. When we was leaving I drove back over to Ruby's and was going to talk to the manger. There was a few people leaving and they were mad and upset. I asked the man what was going on and he said they had been there two hours just for burgers. He said the employees all seemed upset and didn't even know what they was doing. I never went and spoke with the manger. Not sure if there was a manager. read more

Took my wife to dinner here last sunday. There were ants on the wall, spider webs under the table, salad bar was trashed. We had sliders that were under cooked and i was sick for 2 days after eating here. Call mgr asked for refund. Received no call back. Ill never eat here again. read more

My wife and I went to Ruby's today since it is National Hamburger week. I had a coupon for a free burger with purchase of an entree. Our waitress was nice but she was slower then molasses in the winter. My wife ordered the slider burgers which she has ordered before. Last time she got 4 little burgers and her side. This time they brought her 2 sliders and her side was steamed broccoli. She only got 6 small pieces of broccoli. I had the burger with onion rings. My rings were small and I got 5 on the plate. I asked a waitress walking by if my wife could have more broccoli with what we was paying that wasn't enough. Also a few more onion rings for my plate also. She explained Ruby's was under new ownership and that is the amount the new owners had passed down to the restaurants. She also said the new menus had higher prices which I had already noticed that. We waited for our waitress to walk by because our teas was empty and had been for a bit. I had to get up and go find the waitress and she was standing behind the bar talking with other staff. I asked her to bring more tea and she said ok. Timed her at 8 minutes later she came with the tea and very little ice. I asked for 2 cups of ice and it took her close to 5 minutes to return. When she finally brought the check I told her to wait a second and I would give her my card. She said I will be right back and she was gone over 10 minutes. I don't think we will return to the Athens restaurant for a while. New menu, smaller servings and higher prices. I don't think so!! read more

I used to love Ruby Tuesday especially for the salad bar that used to be included with the meal, but now you have to pay extra on top of the price of the meal. NOT HAPPY, so probably won't be going back. read more

This place used to be good, maybe 10 years ago, but now you couldn't pay me to eat here. The food is overpriced yet subpar. The salad bar used to be great but the last time my family ate there my mother got food poisoning from one of the mayo salads on the bar. It's sad that this place has gone so horribly wrong. read more

My wife and I ate here for lunch and each ordered the Petite Tilapia. As always, the fish was delicious. We both substituted the spaghetti squash for the potatoes since we have enjoyed the squash very much in the past. This time it was very bland. We tried seasoning it with salt and pepper, but it didn't help. Otherwise, the cost was very reasonable and everything else was very good. Will be continuing to eat there. read more

I'm definitely not too happy with Ruby Tuesday's and Athens we were there not too long ago and my glass was so filthy so they brought me a new one. When we ate the food it just was a drag the chicken was very very dry. Needless to say out of all the places to eat in Athens Tennessee I will not be going back to Ruby Tuesday's there is an Applebee's right down the road. read more

Terrible. Don't waste your time. I called and placed a to go order, waited 10 minutes on the phone before placing the order. Was told 20 minutes, when I went in to pick it up the man explained to me that he couldn't hear what I ordered (lettuce wraps, on their menu) and that they didn't even have those so my order was never placed. But for some reason nothing was said on the phone 20 minutes ago and nobody called me back? I had a traveling toddler in the car and was told it would've been another 20 minutes to get any food at all. read more

My husband and I went here for a overdue date night last night (August 11, 2016). Absolutely wonderful experience! Our server (Jen) was a rare find. She was on point from start to finish. Very personable and had the answer to any questions we had.I had trouble deciding what to order (neither of us were very hungry) so she recommended splitting The Big Dipper Sampler, and my husband was eyeing the Garden bar. Excellent suggestion. It was exactly what we needed. The Big Dipper was well prepared and tasty. And my husband really enjoyed the Garden Bar. It was well stocked and clean. Not a single item looked as if it had been on it long. We enjoyed our visit so mush that not only am I planning to go there for lunch, I even called the GM to thank them for the great experience and found out when Jen worked (ever day except Monday and Tuesday) so we could request her when we come back!
