Those experiences consisted of contradictory information on each visit, them requesting authorization from my insurance for a service I explicitly told them I did not want and explicitly instructed them not to request, him telling me there was a dental issue that NOTHING could be done about, and rude staff who told me I had no right to any receipts since my insurance covered everything. I essentially wanted paperwork from them for my records, but apparently if you don't pay for anything, they have nothing to provide you... I don't think that's how patient information legally works. For my next cleaning, I visited Bell Gardens Dental Group, and the experience was night and day! On my first visit, I saw Dr. Mahmoud, who listened to my concerns and set my mind at ease. She listened to every piece of information given to me by Metropolitan and said the service they suggested (which cost over $1k out of pocket) was not necessary. And the dental issue Metropolitan said nothing could be done about? Well, there is a treatment. Dr. Mahnoud was honest in that nothing is a 100% guarantee, but that patients have had success as long as they stick with the treatment and the patient does what is required at home between visits. The ladies at the front desk and Nixx, one of the dental assistants, were amazing during this visit as well. The ladies at the front were welcoming, and Nixx, who took X-rays before I saw the dentist, heard my concerns and made sure that I didn't forget to mention anything to the Dr. Fast forward to this past Saturday (10/10), and this time I was helped by Dr. Yesenia Lara, loved her! She was so kind, answered all the questions I had, and made sure to pay special attention to one tooth that is extra sensitive. She also checked in throughout the cleaning, which was completed in ONE visit, and I felt no pain at all as the cleaning was underway. Dr. Yesenia is phenomenal, and I look forward to working with her again! I can't convey enough just how relieved I've felt walking out of Bell Gardens Dental Group both times. At BGDG, I don't feel like a walking money sign the way I did at Metropolitan. Dr. Lara, Nixx, and Dr. Mahmoud seem like they truly want what's best for their patients. The experience here is the type of experience I'd want for any of my friends to have. No one looks forward to a dentist visit, but knowing that the staff there care made it much better. Huge thanks to ALL the staff for being kind, professional, understanding, and for taking the time to listen. To anyone reading this, apologies for the novel, but I truly want to give a comparison to the experience I've had at BGDG considering the horrible experience I had with Metropolitan.

While she was doing my root canal, she made sure I was comfortable and kept checking in on me. I didn't feel a thing while she worked on me! I had a root canal at another office about a year ago, and it was painful because the dentist was rough. But this doctor took her time and ensured everything was perfect. The temporary crown was great, and the permanent one was done flawlessly--I couldn't even feel it when I closed my mouth. She's truly an incredible doctor, and I'll keep coming back to this office as long as they accept my insurance. The staff was also fantastic and attentive. I give them a 10 out of 10!

So basically, she admitted she didn't hear a word I said, even though I was in pain and clear as day. She didn't get the gist at all and had a hard time just getting my name down -- even when I spelled it, gave examples like 'S as in Sam' nothing helped. Even like that she kept coming up with different last names. Listening issues are common via phone, but this was a lack of Attention and presence. If they can't get pull your account, why bother here? If the front desk can't follow simple info or tone, it makes the whole place feel questionable. Avoid this place.

I stopped by to get x-rays and have my teeth exam and I was getting ready to hear a lot of bad news. Knowing that I had not visited the dentist in about 8 to 10 years I knew that there would be work that would be needed to be completed.. The dentist was very helpful with letting me know the severity of it, but at the same time showed optimism and made me feel comfortable. Not only are we looking into the repairment of my tooth but also he explained to me the things that would be needed to be done in order to restore my teeth. I had plaque built up and my gums were very swollen with numbers high as fives and six which is not great and he explained to me that it would take a few appointments of deep cleaning and laser treatment in order to restore them. The appointments that I've had with them have been painless, and they have always made me feel comfortable while visiting them. This really helped me overcome my fear of visiting in the dentist and I actually do look forward to seeing them for my next appointment. I arrived earlier and they were able to see me pretty quickly. They were all very friendly and the doctor was able to fill my cavities and give me a cleaning all in the same visit.
