They had a lot of nice touches like a blind date with a bookshelf, color coded tape in the romance section that indicated how "spicy" a book was, and cute stationary and cards. The blind date with the books were so cute, 25$ each but they come with stickers and would be such a good gift for someone. The books were also reasonably priced and they had some discount shelves. It's hysterical, and made even funnier by the staff writers responses. The articles are light reading, but entertaining and informative. Revenue for the paper is generated by advertising so you'll see a lot of that. But it also has a pretty decent local calling (Not that anything ever really goes on here) a good way to keep up on local music and such. Hey, its FREE! How can you complain about something someone is just giving you?

Organization is not the prime directive here, but the selection, new/used/valuable is good and the staff is the right amount of nerdy knowledgeable with out being nerdy elitist - you know the type... "Oh, you just started collecting TMNT and don't know about Groo the Wanderer..." Prices are retail for new stuff. A sleeve and board will set you back $0.25. Collectables are priced in line with the Overstreet guide, but they can be a little optimistic on the grading, so margin hard. I have never sold any used comics to them (hoarder!) and I cannot speak to pricing there, but they are legit is every other aspect that I have dealt with this on. In short, this is where I buy my local comics for myself and as gifts.

I was curious about one description, which sounded vaguely familiar, but the staff refused to give me any details unless I purchased the book--which is nonrefundable. Offering this kind of display as an option is fun; refusing to provide info to customers who aren't committed to the concept is not.
