Called the office and Adam came out a couple of days later to inspect our lawn and give us a quote. After talking to a few other local vendors, we decided to go with FENIX and we are really pleased we did. Adam, Kimberley and Erica communicated really well and answered any question we had about the entire process. They provided us with a few turf samples as well as an extensive list of referral addresses we could use to inspect their craftsmanship and the quality of the installed turf product. When the day to start the project arrived, Dylan and the large crew arrived right on time as arranged and immediately got to work. They were very professional and skilled. They were able to complete the entire project in one day and cleaned up the "worksite" nicely. I had my backyard completely redone with this company in 2020. I had a patio awning installed. They…read morehad it permitted through the city and inspected. It passed. Just two years later we started noticing that the window directly under the awning was leaking during severe weather. (So once or twice a winter) it has been a nightmare ever since. I called Salens to have them come inspect. They did not come out. They gave me the number of the company who did the awning. My husband and I both reached out to them to NO RESPONSE. At that point I felt like I wasn't going to get help from Salens or this other company. I reached out to several awing companies and explained the issues I was having, to see if they would come inspect the work. To no surprise very few people felt comfortable inspecting work that wasn't theirs. I found someone who did come out, pulled back flashing, recaulked, and sealed some cracks around the area. This helped initially but the leaking came back. I had a leak detection company come out and they couldn't replicate the leak. At this point my option is to pull the awning down and throw 6,000 down the drain or cut a whole inside my home in the drywall to see where it's leaking. Pulling the awning down will require me to completely resucco the backside of my home. Theres no visible damage from the leaking. Our Insurance company couldn't find the source and declared it wasn't from a storm. I called Salens back because I really wanted to speak to the owner about this and I left a message with another staff member. It's been two weeks with no call back. All of this to say I would vet the subcontractors this company uses. I also would not recommend drilling into stucco !

I did see a few bad reviews here and there but decided to overlook them as not everybody is perfect and was hoping that the overall quality of the positive experiences and review would shine through. This was honestly the worst contractor decision of my life. Pros: -Turf work and retaining wall look clean/sharp Cons: - Sales representative Jose kept promising me 0% finance and pushed the project to start asap. He even sent his crew to start unloading stuff without telling me. - I agreed to 0% finance plan and signed a formal contract with them on it only for the project manager to freak out on me on day of the project and kept calling/harassing me to pay everything within start/completion of the project in 48 hours. A huge difference between what I agreed and signed to. I explained that their financing bank had conditional approval already and what was agreed between me and their sales representative Jose but he didn't care and said Jose "overstepped and shouldn't have said that" and still demanded I pay everything asap for him and his team or they would charge me another $700 if they had to stop and wait for finance. He kept complaining this is what the original contract started, I said yes but Jose said we can switch and signed a new contract, but he didn't care and kept repeating the first version of the contract. Jose and I had signed multiple new versions as we made a lot of new revisions to the work. Horrible communication and definitely untrustworthy right from the start. He then decided to demand the entire check upfront while we wait for the bank, I immediately said no as I don't trust them at all. What's to stop them from cashing my giant check and then a third person calling me saying Juan overstepped and shouldn't have done this or that. - I explained to them that the bank verification took longer as I owned multiple property and they needed to review everything and that I was ok with starting later. Jose insisted to start asap and that a conditional approval was fine, apparently it was not as Juan did not accept that at all. It was exhausting going back and forth, there is literally no communication at all between the two. Juan was nice in the end, he explained Jose lied to "cover his own butt". But in the end I was the person that suffered for it. Paying everything upfront is a huge difference between being promised 0% finance for 12 months. - I was hoping that the quality of their work would shine through, but the pavers damaged the side of my home and I told them but they refused to take responsibility for it. - I also paid extra for charcoal border with my pavers but they got it wrong as well. I had to point it out for them to switch it. Juan was good about it, but it is exhausting to have to watch them for everything to make sure it was right and that they are following what was written in the contract. There were other things I requested done that weren't done that I had to remind them of as well. - Cleanup after alright was 80% good. A lot of plastic bottles, gum wrapper, bottle caps, random pieces of trash and tire marks all over my driveway after they were done. - The second worst experience of this is easily the pricing agreement with them. We agreed on a price for the wall, paving and turf work. One of the addendums was to add lights with a transformer. However, after not being fully informed of how it would work, I decided to remove it. Jose told me that it would jump up the price to $2,150 and I had the screenshot to prove it. I showed Juan but he kept insisting that everything was only $1,100 and that he would refund me an additional $700 as a favor for me and to not write a bad review on everything that has happened to me. I was confused as basically the price was going up 2150 for the work but removing it only dropped down 1,100 and that I was basically lucky that he was giving me another 700 back as well. In the end, I am still negative $350 for the lighting work that I removed. The price basically increased per our original contract and Juan couldn't explain why he was still charging me that higher amount if I was not getting anything else new or in addition to it. At this point, I was beyond mentally exhausted and just agreed to it to get it over with. I was not going to post up a review online as it was just too tiring and now I am stuck looking for somebody to fix the exterior of my home after their damage -I have never thought about paying contractors less than what we agreed on for their work until I met a company as unprofessional and irresponsible as this one. Even worse, I reported this to their company and got ignored.

I was quoted one price and was then informed that I needed something else with a different price when the installers came out.the price went up $1200 when the installers came out to inspect prior to the project getting started. I explained what I wanted when I spoke with the rep and was quoted something else. The company does not attempt to hear customers out. Their response is "page 6 of the contract you signed." It's pointless to speak with them about anything. I should have went with another company after waiting for almost two hours for someone to get back with me the day of my install but I was tired of looking for someone to do my fence. The fence was supposed to be out in the found but thy did not happen and there is still space at the bottom. I wanted to update my review since Peta, escalation manager reached out to me to try to rectify the situation. Peta sent me a gift basket and submitted a refund of $600 with the hopes that I will take my review down. I informed her that thanks for that but I will not take my review down. On the contrary, a day after speaking and receiving text messages from Peta. I noticed that cats were getting in my backyard and was wondering how. I went to my backyard only to find two pieces of my fence missing. I reached out to Peta via text and still have not received a response. My fence was completed on 7/16. How could it already get broken. This is insane to me when I was informed the wood is sturdy.
