MOST HORRIFIC SERVICE EVER.
I hired Rub and Shine cleaning services thru the Thumbtack app for a deep cleaning service, plus windows, fridge, & microwave. What I got was borderline traumatic. It's now three days post service and I'm still working on undoing what they did.
When I sent out for a quote, I gave a very accurate description of my small townhouse. Lots of kids, animals, tired parents, a mess! I even sent pictures as to avoid misrepresentation. Midway thru, when they were still working on my upstairs beds and baths, they asked for several garbage bags. Amrik stated "there is a lot of trash". Prior to this cleaning I worked on decluttering the area. It wasn't 100%, but it seemed weird that there was that much garbage. I have 4 kids, 1 with special needs, so benefit of the doubt, I thought maybe there was a trash hoarding somewhere I hadn't discovered.
Fast forward, I've paid for the DEEP CLEANING & extras, they have left, and I am ready to take a breath and relax a bit. I'd had them put the garbage bags outside my front door since our can is in the garage. My gut was telling me to double check those bags and make sure nothing was mistaken as garbage. FIVE full bags of garbage. That's what was waiting for me.
I opened the first bag, Confusion and panic quickly set in. I feel like Amrik and his partner went thru my home and just randomly grabbed my belongings and shoved them into garbage bags. To explain the depth of why this has been so awful, here is a summary list of what I've found so far in the bags of "garbage":
Books (personally autographed books!!), brand new art supplies (play dough, water color palette, crayons, ink pens...), a full bottle of prescription meds, a full bottle of excedrin, silverware, kitchen dishes, clothing, shoes, a blanket, USB power cords, BRAND NEW unopened baby proofing supplies, breast pump supplies, a custom water bottle, Stuffed animals (a Simba plush I've had since 1994!!!), a baby costume, DVDs, my toddlers baby shark music player that she carries around ALLL day long, dog's chew toys, children's closet hangers, beauty products (full bottles, hair supplies, combs), toys toys and more toys, imagine all of the accessories to a Melissa & Doug grocery store and a play kitchen being thrown away, unused brand new face mask, doll clothes and accessories, fruit cups that were unopened on my kitchen table!, school provided musical instruments, my dog's leash, dollhouse furniture, a clean and folded pillow case... That's not all of it, but I wanted to provide as much detail as possible.
I was home quite a bit during their service, not once did Amrik or his partner ask me if something should be disposed of. They used paper towels to clean everything, so ALL of my personal belongings were mixed in trash bags with gross wet filthy garbage. I've had to dig through packed bags of trash and pull out my items. Quite a bit of the paper based items are soiled and ruined. A sympathy card sent by my Vet when my dog passed away is soaked and the writing isn't as legible.
These items were pulled off of our dressers, night stands, kitchen table, book shelf, from under my couch... Many of the books (at least a dozen), were in a bookrack on my dresser. Not only did I tell him not to fuss over my cluttered dresser and areas, but why would books properly placed in a rack look like trash?
Let's just add insult to injury. I paid for a DEEP CLEANING. I guess opinions on what that means might vary, But you tell me. During the initial walk thru, I pointed to the baby crib in my room and let him know that the clean bedding for my bed was sitting in the crib. After he confirmed that yes, they do make beds. My baby's crib is now stuffed full of baskets of clothes and other items they dumped in it to vacuum the floor. Underneath all of it, is my clean bedding that was never put on my bed. The bottom bunk's clean bedding in another room was sitting on top of the already made top bunk's bedding. instead of making the completely stripped bottom bunk, they laid the sheets and comforter out on top of the already made top bunk.
I was informed that the pans in the sink would cost an additional $45 for them to wash. HA! I said no thanks, please just move them out of the way. I guess that wasn't possible, so the deep cleaning I was expecting to be done on and around my kitchen sink, did.not.happen. Cobwebs, baseboards, cupboard faces... all still gross. They gutted most of the items from underneath my couch, but failed to actually move the cushions and vacuum them. They failed to vacuum my area rug, rolled it and mopped the hardwood floor. My kitchen and dining room floor were cleaning, but nothing different than what my bissel crosswave does. Still residue, still see sticky spots, still get dirty feet. read more
