I got a visit from the city and shut off my water due to a leak coming from an unknown place. I called a well-known plumbing service, the man who came by concluded in about 2 minutes that it was a sprinkler leak and that it would be cheaper to call a sprinkler service company. I did that, thought my problems were solved, but within an hour of having the water on the leak was back. I then decided to give Rub A Dub a try. Aaron came by and, unlike the other two, went to work to find the leak. After some bush-cutting and rock moving, he determined the connection between my copper and PVC pipes had broken in the yard, and he repaired the fitting promptly. Thank you very much for your help. I'm torn on this review. My tankless water heater went out, and while the Rub-a-Dub guys who came to repair it were great, I later found that I had been duped. They told me that my water heater's mother board was bad and was obsolete / no longer available. Thus, the only option was to replace the entire system at a cost of nearly $5K. Feeling stuck and taking their word for it, replacing the unit is what we did. A couple months later, my second tankless system (same make, model and age as the first one) went on the fritz. Troubleshooting this system, it too was a motherboard problem, yet this time (not with Rub-a-Dub), a replacement motherboard was available for $300, a far cry from replacing the entire system at 16X the cost! Needless to say, this was a pretty frustrating realization to have about Rub-a-Dub's service call and recommendation. They definitely got me! :-( read more

We had a tankless water heater break during the freeze. We get quoted around 3600$ to replace a unit that costs around 1200$. The plumber could not tell me how much were parts or labor. The install didn't even work and we had to call them back. We had previously had a good experience with them replacing a cracked toilet upstairs, so we did not expect this price gouging type of pricing and shoddy install, especially when the community really needed a lot of plumbing help due to the freeze. Mike D. Aaron came by to fix a couple of leaking toilets. I decided to get all three of toilets fixed with new parts in the tanks. $700 and two hours later the toilets were leaking worse than before. I called back to get them to come out and fix the toilets and Aaron tells me the handles need to be replaced. I am thinking all of the components inside the tank were supposed to be replaced. I had a leak and couldn't get the company I normally use out on short notice. Based on the online reviews, I called Rub-A-Dub Plumbing. Their technician was courteous and actually showed up early, which was nice, but their pricing is excessive. This particular fix was $367.00 and I was initially quoted $288.00. With the other company, I expected to pay $150.00 or less for the same repair. Just to give you another comparison, I asked for a quote to put in a pressure regulator. The company I normally use quoted me a price of $350.00. Rub-A-Dub quoted me a price of $677.00. This is a quote that I was told wouldn't include overlapping work since the hole for the pipe where the regulator would be installed had already been dug. I was a bit disappointed that the guy didn't use cardboard or anything to put the dirt on and that he didn't try to preserve my Saint Augustine grass. The number of text messages and emails seem a bit extreme as well. I had several emails about the appointment and the technician coming out, but had to call to request my receipt since nothing showed up after the technician was gone and the bill was paid. read more

Rub A Dub Plumbing sold me a $9000 septic system in May and my toilets would not flush in September. When they come out to look I'm told that it's my issue since it's a clogged line. Would you expect $9000 install would include cleaning out the lines going into the house because I mistakenly did. One star gives them too much credit! Mike came to our house 2 times and could not figure out why my shower would not get hot. After spending over $1000 he then told me he was going to have to run a line through the attic (this is after he made a HUGE mess in my closet and cut through my wall, he never patched it)! ! I had gone through another company to set up my mobile home on a property with hookups. They were unable to hook up my septic because they ran into a problem so I called rub a dub and they were able to get it done within a week. The price was fair and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Because of that we decided to use them for our regular septic check ups. Had a gas leak in a water heater at office.. Called them to check it out. They came out and quoted $2300 to replace water heater. I said no thanks then they charged $300 to check the leak. It took them maybe 5 minutes. Called another plumber with good reputation. They quoted $1100 to replace the heater. Had a similar price gouging at my house. They answered my call on Saturday. I thought we had a leak in the slab. they came on Tuesday and checked it and discovered that the ice maker supply line was leaking. They installed a valve on my meter (required by the water supply company) they charged one service charge for Saturday and for the valve. They were very professional and honest. read more

The plumber could not locate a water leak in service line to house. He sold a new water line to my wife for $3500.00, which she did not need. They dug up my yard with a track hoe machine and it is 450' from the house to the water meter. They dug holes at the side of my house and left it as that. Rub A Dub Plumbing does not stand by their work. In May, when my toilets would not flush, they said I needed a new septic system. I followed the recommendation and paid them $9K to replace my septic system. Now in September, my toilet won't flush and they tell me I need to pay them to clear the lines. Apparently, per the office worker, I should have known to "ask" them to clear the lines when they replaced the septic. I recommend using a trustworthy plumbing company. Called them because dishwasher wouldn't drain. In essence, the guy didn't know how to fix it. Since he was there, i asked if he could look at the toilet in the master bathroom. He came back 3 minutes later with the old flapper valve, which he had replaced without even asking me. Then, he charged for replacing the flapper valve as if it was a new call. I was charged $130 for the failed attempt to fix the dishwasher problem, $75 for the service call, and another $75 for the flapper valve. They have a pricing book that is flat out gouging. They are good plumbers. Fast and professional. But they are extremely expensive and bill by the piece and not time and materials. They did a job for me that after they kept adding up all the small stuff it was double what I expected based on other similar jobs by others. I started with a stopped up toilet. They ended up charging for removing the toilet, resetting it, snaking a small line, replacing wall valve, plus service call. That was about $600. read more

They communicated well, but their prices are ridiculous. I had a simple sewer clog that took five minutes to clear and charged me 356.00 dollars. Most plumbers charge 125-175 max for this. read more
