Pad Cha Talay
Kim V.

Ruan Thai has a good selection, including dishes not often found at other local restaurants, including Pad Cha Talay (seafood w/mussels, squid, shrimp, & fish; spicy with herbs and fresh peppercorns, and slightly sweet). They also have a nice selection of drinks and desserts. We also tried the Larb (pork), and Spicy Basil fried rice (chicken), ordering spicy levels of varying degrees to gauge their range. Ruan Thai has a 1-5 scale of Thai "hot", versus Farang (aka gringo) "hot", so err on the side of caution if you aren't a Spice Connoisseur. My tip when ordering fried rice with a spicy level, order it 1 level down than you would a meat dish, because the rice grains absorb that spicy heat, and can easily be hotter than you expect. Service was friendly, the food and drinks were good, and prices reasonable. We will definitely be back to have more tasty Thai food in the future. note: Like many businesses nowadays, they do pass on the fees they incur on bank cards. So, if you don't want to pay the 3% charge, then bring cash. ...and don't be a Karen; the cost of everything is going up for everyone, so be kind, and understand that if you want an affordably priced restaurant, than this is one thing that they can do to stay in business to feed you AND their family, too.

Absolutely amazing every time I come here, this place needs way more credit man, it taste amazing great prices such nice humble people too. I tried ordering a mango sticky rice once and they said they didn't wanna serve it because it wasn't in season and they didn't want to give me a plate that didn't taste right, shows they pay attention to detail and I respect it a lot

This place is a hidden gem! The food is amazingly delicious and you can tell it's made from love. The staff here are super accommodating and they will recommend certain dishes. It is located in a very "busy" part of Las Vegas but I could tell when I walked in that people truly enjoy the food because the phone kept ringing for orders and delivery drivers keeps coming.

This place is absolutely amazing. Great authentic Thai food and a great atmosphere and service. We found this place as a local joint and it does not disappoint. Will return again.

Ruan Thai's food is so good!! Always is. Our waiter, Chase, was extremely friendly and he was also attentive and available if we needed anything. Also, super cute inside. 5 stars.

This spot is recent change of ownership and name. Very close to my home. The inside is clean and nicely decorated with simple modern design. The food is good My favorite is their pad Thai noodles So moist and delicious Crab ragoons are done with artistic expression..... chicken satay again very moist with great flavor This is definitely a great gem Totally recommend it They charge 3% for card cards, but give a discount for cash that's a great incentive very small business move!!!!!!

Found this adorable place recommended by a friend. The inside is decorated classy and was well light . The waiter was nice and personable. The star of the show was the food!! The pineapple curry was light but had depth of flavor . The Spicy eggplant was amazing and filling. And the chicken wings were massive size. The crab rangoon was very good as well . All the portion sizes were good and everyone left the table with left overs. A definite must try and I'm sure I will be back .

They make the soup homemade everything of course is made from scratch but it is delicious and authentic Thai they're pen and curry is very delicious their pad Thai is yummy I love their spicy basil chicken service is excellent and the atmosphere is casual. A good place to grab Thai food if you're on the east side of Henderson Las Vegas

Ask the Community - Ruan Thai Restaurant

Can you dine inside? Or did the continue with to go or delivery only as the previous owner did?

Yes, dining in is encouraged you won't regret it. The previous owners, with their carry out only, is nothing compared to the new ones. Dine in, or carry out.. either way the food is great.

Service was amazing and sweet. Our servers were on top of it. Everyone worked as a team and ket our glasses full and bellies busy with the good food. Ambiance is beautiful inside. You are greeted quickly and placed on a waitlist (it was busy when I arrived). There's a seating area near the front door but also a few seats along the far side of the wall next to the kitchen door. It's designed to look like a high end restaurant: impressive bar, beautiful ceiling lights, and a mixture of booths and tables. There is seating at the bar as well so if you want to stop for a quick bite with a cocktail, it's perfect. Service: Quick and courteous. What else can I ask for? They use OpenTable so feel free to reserve a seat on that app, it'll help them out immensely when it's rush hour. The servers are quite knowledgeable about the dishes. They even warn you when you've chosen dishes with the same flavor profile. I heard our server guide the tables around us as well with the same attention. Their most known dish is their fried A15 Prawn. Garlic-y, crispy edible shell, and a springy fresh shrimp meat underneath. Yes, you can eat the whole thing, shells and all. Our second dish was their Nam Kao Todd and it had just the right amount of spice and tanginess. The crunch from the rice was a lovely texture because the dish was served fresh. I don't know how it would do if you ordered this for takeout, though. This one is VERY spicy so buyer beware? Third dish was Me Krob. This one wasn't my favorite of the three but I still enjoyed it. The crispness of the noodles absorbed the sweet and tangy sauce they pour on top. Overall: I'd come back if I'm in town!

Servers were super helpful and quick with everything we needed. The place is relatively small so I could see it becoming very very in here. The staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free and the menu is very well marked. I was very disappointed because I wanted to substitute the noodles the had in a different dish for gluten free noodles so I could eat it but they wouldn't allow it which was insanely disappointing and frustrating to me. Everything we had though tasted good and I like that you can customize the spice level. The short rib fried rice is their thing they are the most popular for and I can see why, it was good. The biggest negative on the food was the steamed sticky rice. It was dry and hard and really difficult to eat.

The space itself is inviting with stylish décor and a warm, modern atmosphere that makes it perfect for both casual dinners and hosting friends. Service is consistently excellent--attentive, welcoming, and polished every time we visit. Our Usual Order: 1) Garlic Herb Crispy Prawns - Hands down some of the best in the city. The prawns arrive perfectly crisp with a generous coating of golden garlic and herbs. Each bite has that satisfying crunch before giving way to tender shrimp. 2) Mango Crispy Catfish - A beautiful contrast of textures. The crispy catfish is topped with bright slices of mango and finished with a chili-lime dressing that ties everything together. The dish is vibrant, colorful, and bursting with flavors. 3) Crab Fried Rice - The rice comes generously packed with large pieces of crab and works perfectly alongside the other dishes. It's hearty enough to share. 4) Dessert here is as much about presentation as it is about enjoyment. The Mango Sticky Rice is beautifully plated, and the Egg Yolk Ice Cream is a unique treat that's rich and creamy without being overly sweet--the perfect way to end the meal. The wine list is surprisingly impressive for a Thai restaurant. We usually pair our meal with Orin Swift Blank Stare Sauvignon Blanc, which complements the dishes wonderfully. There's also a full bar, and the Lamaii Old Fashioned is worth trying--smooth, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. If you're looking for a spot with great atmosphere, attentive service, and dishes that are consistently well-executed, Lamaii is always a solid choice.

Coming from LA, we have decent Thai food, but honestly this place blows everything else out of the water. Tucked in the corner of a shopping mall with quite a few other restaurants, you might miss it if you're driving by. Here are the dishes we've tried so far: Pad Thai (9.5/10) - The best pad thai I've had - nice and moist, with great flavor. I'm normally indifferent to pad thai but having this one makes me realize that most of the other pad thai I've has been dry - no wonder I enjoyed this one so much more. Garlic Herb Crispy Prawn (10/10) - The star of the show - nice, large prawns fried to perfection and covered with a tasty garlic sauce. This is the one we get every time we go. Gang Pu (7.5/10) - Solid amount of crab meat in a curry sauce. The vermicelli noodles come on the side and you can add them into the sauce when you want. It's good but I wish there was a little more curry sauce in the dish. Pra Dook Pad Pren (7/10) - On taste alone this probably gets a 9/10 but we thought the portion was a bit small. The catfish is very tasty and the sauce was on point. Just wish it was a little bigger portion. Panang w/ Crispy Duck (9/10) - the duck is very moist and flavorful, swimming in the panang curry it's really a wonderful dish. There is a good amount of sauce which we like so we can add it onto the steamed rice. Panang w/ Crispy Prawns (8.5/10) - See above but with crispy prawns instead of duck. Enjoyable but I think I prefer the duck a little more for this type of dish. Garlic Green Beans (9.5/10) - Didn't know what to expect but really pleasantly surprised with this dish. The green beans are covered with a super flavorful garlic sauce. A nice compliment to any of the other dishes considering there's not a ton of vegetable options on the menu. The tasteful traditional decor and dark wood sets a nice mood for a pleasant meal. Sure, the view out of the window could be better (you just get a view of the corner of the parking lot) but other than that I can't complain. Also, the service is really stand out - they always treat us very nice and check on us regularly. Shoutout to Pinky - she's super sweet and they've given us a little ice cream dessert when we've come on our birthdays. In a city with so many great food options this one stands out for me. Can't wait to go back!

The restaurant is very small and quiet, which we enjoyed because it felt like being in someone's home for dinner. I ordered the crab curry noodles (Khao Soi) and my husband ordered beef brisket panang curry. We couldn't agree on who had the better dish because they were both so incredible.
