Since we had never needed one before, my husband and I wanted to be sure we were making thoughtful decisions for our future. We ultimately chose Patrick, and we couldn't be happier with that decision. His focus on sustainable investing made him stand out even more and aligned well with our values. Patrick is not only highly knowledgeable and professional, but also approachable, thoughtful, and easy to talk with. Nearly three years later, we remain extremely pleased with both his guidance and the results. The addition of Rachel Strong to the team has been another positive development. She has been wonderful to work with as well, and together they provide outstanding service and support.

We needed someone we could trust, that can help organize our finances, set up some estate planning, and overall improve our financial literacy. We're so happy to have found Impact Fiduciary and to work with Chris whose always made sure we are set up for success. He's extremely knowledgable and patient in walking us through what financial decisions need to be made, and exactly what we sign up for as we look into certain investments. He's great at keeping up with us, even when we tend to lose sight of our goals or meetings. We've been fortunate to see a lot of growth after working with Chris, and it's assuring knowing we're investing with those who have similar values as us. Looking forward to working with them for years to come!

Jen Mulder has a great attitude about how I could manage money without so much worry and stress. I…read morehad my questions about what to do about my various retirement accounts from different jobs, and Jen was very practical in her advice. Her empathy and kindness makes it possible for me to trust her with what might seem like a "dumb question" in my head, or something very personal. Jen is clear about what options are available and really has my best interest in mind. I also asked Jen to help an elderly neighbor sort out her retirement money so we could plan out how to best support her ongoing assisted living expenses. We also had to deal with a past period of a difficult medical situation. This neighbor was very anxious about everything and had trust issues, and Jen had the incredible patience to help us streamline her finances that were scattered everywhere. This was a time that was so stressful and overwhelming, and Jen's voice of reason made it possible for us to put most things together and now, my neighbor's money situation is on cruise control. My anxious elderly neighbor can now trust that her retirement money has excellent oversight and we can keep her in a comfortable living situation. Thank you Jen for creating Pathway Financial Services so you can help with untraditional clients like my neighbor!

I had reached out to other financial planners, one who never pinned down a date with me and another who was incredibly negative about my situation, and frankly scared me. I shared my debt and expenses with Jennifer and we had an honest and encouraging conversation, she even went over the 30 minutes mark. I hope I'm positioned better soon to use her services more! But it was a nice start. :)

Encourage this significant part of the community to organize both their savings and their investments to achieve that. It was communicated that they are only opening accounts online, and that a only soft credit check is done. I also learned that a self-directed account without margin is free without any minimum $ to open, with the robo algorithm available at a minimum of 5k, with a Certified Financial Planner option for $300 to join, and then $30 monthly thereafter. I chose to stop my submission of my application to Charles Schwab only because of the use of the odd phrases "Transparency" and "Sweep Banks."

I thought that the conversation went well. I was told that a financial advisor would be in contact at the beginning of the following week. I never got a follow-up call or email. I had high hopes for Abacus. I met Brent Kessel, its founder, at a workshop years ago. I was impressed with what seemed to be Abacus' philosophy on money management. To me, wealth management is not just about the money. And Brent did write a book called "It's Not About the Money." I am not sure if my net worth was below the threshold for what Abacus required of its clientele and I would have understood it they could not take me as a client for that reason. It is a business after all and parameters needed to be set for it to be profitable. But I was never informed of that during the screening call. In the end, the courtesy of a call informing me that I did not qualify would have been appreciated. It would be unfortunate if Abacus only caters to the financially affluent (I could be wrong), espousing socially responsible investing and wealth as not just about the money, but not having a division in its company for people who are not as affluent in the material sense. I have since found a certified financial planner who does not only walk the talk but actually applies the principle that financial planning is not just about the money - that it is a part of a broader perspective of life planning as George Kinder, who wrote "The Seven Stages of Money Maturity," believes. He actually showed me that I have more to invest than I thought I did which was a pleasant surprise. And I am grateful to be life planning with him and not just financial planning. In the end, I believe that Abacus did not work for me as it may not have been the best avenue for me to grow my money and my life. It all works out in the end.
