Who in their right mind would take the G line. Stranded me downtown First day. Had to Uber home

Denver RTD gets to point A from point B with no fuss at all. If you are trying, say, to get to Denver from Boulder, you will experience a most pleasant departure, including a warm greeting from an even hotter bus driver followed by an excessively comfortable ride, complete with a breathtaking view of Downtown Denver in addition to some classic Coly landscape. Finally you will emerge safely and happily in Denver itself, where you can easily roam to city based on multiple RTD paths to and fro the central RTD station. For instance, after taking the free mall ride along 16th street you can perhaps take a connecting bus along Colfax or, for example instead take an equally glorious bus further down Broadway to explore boundless tasteful and campy charm. When you return to Boulder, however. Take care not to catch the 2:30 bus on a weekday.--very crowded. read more

Thanks useless RTD, would've appreciated a better notification than the one I received standing at your stop late at night that your trains would not be running this evening. Now it's cold and I'm stranded. Appreciate it! read more

This is the worst example of public transportation in the nation. In the top 6 in most expensive in the nation. And number 1 in rude drivers ( drivers who moved here from another country or state) number 1 in worst at staying on schedule. Homeless people sleeping on the bus taking up seats from hard working people. They need to fire 80% of the drivers and managers. I'm buying another vehicle asap so I don't have to ride this disgusting bus line again. read more

I was at the bus stop today waiting for my regular 44 bus westbound. The driver decided not to make the stop, making me late to my next destination. The customer service offer a vague response to my complaint. Be aware, these drivers don't care about their job at all, plan ahead. read more

Beware of trains and buses are always mess. RTD managements do not care about passengers and people with disabilities. They are lying and crooks on taxpayers. Fares had gone up and they want money to screw people. I believe RTD has no clue how to run commuter trains. One example, G Line still not open. See that showing managements lies to passengers. I believe trains need to shut down for good. Since they can't handle it. Just prepare on your commute to work or pleasure. They still and will screw on passengers or commuters. Do not trust them 100%. read more

I love the RTD of Denver and since I've been on various transit systems in the world I'm glad our city's system DOESN'T SHUT DOWN after evening rush hour (i.e. 7pm like many cities). Also the light rails are fast, clean, and void of any gang-related issues faced in other cities. Last, I can't wait for the entire buildout of the rail system. Although it's entangled in ever-increasing costs I can't wait to ride the rail all the way up near Boulder or DIA ! read more

Rtd use to be a pretty reliable bus service but over the years it has changed for the worse, when it became undependable people would prefer other forms of transportation such as Uber or Lyft, now I'm told that they will be eliminating the 157 in Aurora to the community college this very sad for the students who attend the college and are already on a fixed income , perhaps if the bus was dependable ridership would improve and if the drivers pay would increase you would get a better pool of employees. Management should take a pay cut they are not effective at their job . read more

Absolutely a shit show. These guys couldn't get you around Denver if you paid them a billion bucks. No direction no help. People are rude and you have no idea when they randomly shut stations down. Thanks rtd. So how do I get home when stations are closed without warning or direction. read more

A great public transit system for a great city. The light rail system can take you to far-off places that you'd probably never think to visit as a tourist, and it's fast, frequent service. read more

My wife and I use the light rail to get from down south to Downtown. There are times it works great, though other times it is a sardine can. We have been in many other cities with trains and are always wondering about the system that allows riders to jump on the train without a ticket. We have often discussed how easy it would be to ride for free, although we always purchase tickets out of a sense of needing to pay for an obviously expensive program. But we wonder what percent of riders feel no need to pay. Maybe 20-30%? Hard to know. In larger cities there are gates and attendants and police at the stations to deal with those who attempt to jump on for a free ride. Denver probably does not have a critical mass to allow enforced access, but it is disappointing to think that some ride for free for lack of enforcement. Would it be possible to lower the cost if all were forced to pay something for the ride? Or would it cost so much to enforce payment that fees would rise? RTD must ponder these issues, or at least one would hope they are looking at it. read more

Brand new light rail train from downtown Denver to the airport. It was 37 min to Union Station. Way to go Denver!! $9 for the fare to any RTD location that day. I think its a little pricy for lower income people but they will fix that. Train cars were very nice, ride was smooth, keep building those tracks Denver. read more

Dear passenger: You think taking the train in winter, cold or snowy weather would be convenient and a good idea?!! Well, you're definitely mistaken because that's when RTD'S new trains will broke down and will NEVER show up. You will be freezing your butt for hours and miss your flight. You have been warned. I rode the RTD, light rail while visiting here and I greatly applaud the mostly suburban Denver area for putting in a good system. Public transit could be a lot worse. read more

I got on bus #6285 the 15 to East Colfax at 1:15 on march, 18th, 2019. And the bus driver that day had a lady that was a passenger who was hearing voices in her head telling her that everyone hates her and wants to kill her and kept telling that outloud. Out of no where the driver stopped the bus and got on the loud speaker and told this lady " I love you no one hates you but the voices a ND to read her binle that there's more love for her in this world than hate" and other people started saying they love her too and she broke into tears started to smile and said thank you I needed to hear that and it totally changed her mind set and she was happy from then on out that day as far as I know that bus driver could've told her to get off the bus for cussing and totally surprised everyone by how much he was able to touch her with those couple of words just want a shout out to that driver I hope RTD recognizes him for it read more

I have mixed feelings about RTD. There have been many moments where they have pulled through for me. For example, when I was in college, I received the college pass and the bus was easily accessible in Boulder. The buses have usually been consistent but my problem lies within the light rail and the newly built A line. Ever since I started working downtown, I have used the A line, and while it is better than being in traffic on I-25, it's frustrating to deal with the constant delays and excuses. If they are still having issues now, they shouldn't have opened it up for public use in the first place. I'm considering alternate routes now because of how inconvenient the train has been for me. I'm not too sure about the other light rails, but from the past they haven't been much of a problem except for a few operational issues. I think they just need to work it out, it's just sad to see that they're so behind on their technology, while trains in Japan run on time 99% of the time and also have great measures to prevent people from entering the train without paying. read more

I have been riding the bus since before I could walk, and over the years from childhood to adulthood have been pretty shitty. Used to be you could ride the bus for basically nothing, I remember when the bus fare for kids was 75¢. Now being an adult who is poor $3 for a bus ticket is ridiculous. And having read a lot of other people's reviews, I am sincerely appalled by RTD's actions and responses to people. I have gotten on a bus when the bus was late and have gotten into arguments about how late the bus really was, I tell them that I am going to call rtd and complain about them hoping to get him a warning about his behavior, then he stated that he does not work for RTD. I then told him you are the driver of this bus right? He told me yes well there you go you work for RTD, and maybe you should think about how you react to customers because you work for RTD and you're actions define how people look at the service you work for. Then sat back down, If you are driving for Rtd, you may not have been hired with-in the company but you work for the company, and the way that you behave makes the company look bad. read more

This is the absolute WORST transportation system the RTD trains are ALWAYS late or don't show up like today. I've been waiting outside in the cold over an hour waiting for my train to come and it didn't show up for the scheduled arrival time THREE times. On top of that, their online schedule times never match up with the schedules the trains actually come at which is so dumb why even post times if you can't even follow them and be on time? This has screwed up every day of my planning for school arrival this week. It's such a sucky train system. Never on time and so many trains never even show up. Again, so unpredictable and unreliable. Several weeks of my line not working and the trains not showing up at all. Never ride this, even your lowest standards will not be met. read more

Have really enjoyed riding the Light rail from the hotel to the Buckhorn Exchange restaurant and back. The cars and safe, clean and well maintained as well as thje individual stations and platforms. The management and staff ahat I have encountered back in 2009 were really very friendly and helpful and the they certainly know what they are doing 100%. They were not Crude and disrecpectful at all. Just like the Baltimore MD light rail transportation system. Would not mind coming back again. :). Two (2) Thumbs up Indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

One of the RTD vehicle was driving recklessly in front of me. I'm a school bus driver with a CDL license, so I know a thing or two about driving safely and defensively. This driver was opposite from driving defensively. On 30th street in Boulder, as I was heading north toward Valmont, around 4:50pm, this white RTD vehicle - C290 - cut me off was she was "butt-hugging" the car in front of her, jamming on the brakes, switching lanes without turn-signals. I know she wasn't going 35 mph, as the speedometer in my car said 35, and she was passing everyone. I'm sorry RTD, but your investment in this driver is a loss. She is one of the drivers who'd get in accidents that should have been prevented. read more

So sick and tired of this bs. You expect up to pay fares, we expect you to be on time. End of story. I take the rail from aurora to Lakewood every day m-f. 90% of the time it is late and even when it's not, when we get to Peoria station we have to run from one rail to the airport train going to union station. There have been multiple times I've gotten almost to the door and the train takes off..... I'm almost to the point of just driving because I'm tired of this crap. read more

I rode out to Southland today. From Belmar. Got me there for 3.50. Works for me.

I am very disappointed with the new West Line. My husband and I live near the Oak Station, but found out that it costs $4 each way to get to downtown Denver because Oak is the first station in the expensive third zone. The next station, Garrison, is half the price. However, there is no parking there and the very narrow side streets were jammed with cars from people trying to take the lightrail in the cheaper zone. I am glad I don't live near there--I would be furious with RTD. Yes, we could drive to the Lakewood/Wadsworth station to get the affordable fare, but this ends up taking us twice as long to get to downtown. It is cheaper and faster for us to drive into Denver and pay for parking. I voted for the lightrail, but find that it is too expensive to commute from the tax-payer funded Oak station that has ample parking and is convenient to our house. What a shame that RTD is trying to run as a profit-based system, even though it is funded by taxpayers. The West Line near/in Golden is simply too expensive. read more

For those of us who live in Colorado, we are all well aware that is SNOWS regularly between the months of November and April. Perhaps whoever runs the Light rail system could take this fact into account when preparing for the winter months. If you're planning to take the Light Rail for convenience purposes be there a snow day, plan on a "Butt-to-nut" experience, this is, if you're even lucky enough to get on the train during rush hour. Be prepared to wait in the cold. I was forced to wait in the FREEZING cold (4 degrees) today for thirty minutes, this happened for a few reasons: 1. RTD fails to provide any shelter at over half of their "conveniently" placed stations. If there is any shelter its big enough to fit two transients, one dog and you, sounds fun right? 2. It was a snow day, which means HIGH VOLUME on the light rail due to the public being aware of the storm going on outside. 3. Whoever runs this thing must live in the basement of their Mother's house with no windows or perhaps they have no access to a Radio, Television, Phone, Internet, or any other human being that may have hinted that a storm was on the way. Here's my solution: ADD ANOTHER FRICKEN CAR to the train! I know right? Genius. read more

Zero stars. Never on time. The drivers are always rude and reckless. Every year it's raised prices and less buses. The online schedules don't match when the buses actually arrive, if they every do that is. If there is even a drizzle of snow you better leave very early otherwise you'll be late, like an hour early. They blow through red lights all the time sometimes not making it and slamming the breaks so if your standing prepare to go for a flight. At times they will just drive by you, guess they just don't feel like stopping to pick you up. Starting to save for a car, less hassle and threats of being fired from my job for constantly being late. On to the light rail. Every time it's cold or even slightly snowing the things are 15-20 minutes late. Especially if it's below zero, they don't seem to mind charging us to wait in the freezing cold getting frost bite and then making us wait 20 minutes in it and sometimes longer. If there is an accident the entire thing shuts down. Of course we've already paid so we're stuck waiting an hour (also sometimes in the cold) unless you want to toss that already paid 4 buck ticket. You can call and complain but with most monopolies it will get you nowhere. No compensation, barely even an apology. Also their rules and regulations on ticket checkers is completely false on their website. Their website states that you'll only be checked for a ticket while on or boarding the train. Last month I got off the train and tossed my ticket in the trash because obviously I didn't need it. My friend met me at the nine Mile station, assuming that these people came after she was already there to meet me. We both walk down the stairs to the parking area to leave and are stopped by the ticket Nazis. When I explain that I threw it in the trash after I left the train they simply wrote me a ticket even though I even offered to go retrieve it. But here's the kicker, they ask my friend for her ticket, she explains she wasn't even on the train but waiting for me up by the stop. They write her a ticket. While their carrying on I pull up RTD's website and show the Nazi that it clearly states they can't check tickets their. He responds "I'll check in the parking lot if I fuc*ing want to. Here's your ticket have a nice day fa*got." Everyone should just have cars this business doesn't give a rats ass about you or anyone and obviously find any way to get money, illegally, from you. read more

I take the L to Longmont every Monday and Wednesday. The stop is only a few blocks from work and i live close to light rail, so the commute is pretty easy. However, the bus drivers on this route are not terribly friendly. I greet the driver with a smile and a good morning, or a hello and I am met with either a blank stare or a look extreme annoyance. The welcome aboard on the outside of the bus is probably the only modicum of kindness you are likely to find on this route. When the paint job on the bus is friendlier than the bus drivers, there are some serious problems. read more

The buses in Denver are currently terrible. In the past month, I have stood outside in a snow storm for over an hour because the driver never showed up, had my daughter ripped off for her bus fare because the driver refused to believe that she was a student even though she had a student ID, ended up riding a bus that made me 12 minutes late for my connecting bus when the next bus wasn't until 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the bus that I missed, was at 8 o'clock in the morning. In the area that I live in, buses don't run in the evening, so I get to walk 3 miles from the park and ride in the dark, and in the cold. They are overpriced, and although some drivers are cool, many of them are very rude. Further, any time I have called in with any sort of issue, I was promised that someone would call me back, and never once received a call back. If you can afford it, buy a car. I know I am. read more

I purchased a local day pass. There were two routes I was offered by the online Trip Planner system. Depending on which light rail I was able to catch, I had to determine which route would work best for me. However, even though both these routes take me to the same destination, one route is more expensive than the other. Why? Had I caught the W-Line at 11:57 am I would have been able to transfer to the 76 and made it to my destination in Longmont without paying extra (I already spent a whopping $5.20, how much more do they seriously need?). I was only able to catch the W-Line at 12:12 pm (after an appointment I had), therefore had to take the alternative route. I transferred to the LX toward 23rd/Main at Union Station, but the bus driver was required to deny me access to the bus since I only held a local pass. I explained I would have been able to make it to the same destination had I transferred to the 76 for the price of a local ticket. Unfortunately, the driver could not help me, even though he empathized well and understood the situation. Compliments to the driver for handling it well. Because the RTD ticket/route system makes absolutely no sense and has been designed to rob unsuspecting people, I missed a job interview. Thanks, RTD. read more

Where do I begin... What an inconsistent and rarely accurate service. Multiple times a week trains don't show up and more often then not trains are late. Don't expect the light rail to get you anywhere on time. Good for people who don't have a schedule, such as vacationers but a horrible and annoying pain for anybody who rides it regularly and need to be somewhere on time. For instance, today a train didn't show up at rush hour and the next trains were so busy they couldn't even fit everybody. read more

Their fares are going up AGAIN to $2.25 in Jan 2011 (bumping the monthly expense to $90, which is more than my husband's car's monthly gas bill), they're unsafe (since they began plucking their "drivers" from a third-party company, there have been NUMBERS of bus-related accidents), it takes twice as long to get anywhere and their transfers are only valid for 2 hours, MAX...how is anyone supposed to do any kind of running around via mass transit in two hours before the transfer expires?? RTD used to be the #1 mass transit in the US, now they're just as expensive as NYC (I looked it up, people...we're paying as much as NYC's transit). And there's no other mass transit option to chose, so they're a monopoloy, they know it and they are taking full advantage. (PS...on a positive note, RTD's busses are usually reliable and on time, probably because they cut routes and times, so drivers naturally stay on time. If you're looking for reliability, RTD is your ride, but if your'e looking for safety and affordability, it's now better to try and find a car and drive yourself...at least you'll have something to show for the money you're spending) read more
