I fractured my ring finger in September. The minute my doctor mentioned physical therapy, I immediately requested RTA for therapy. I received therapy in the past and received excellent care. I wasn't able to be seen right away because no openings were available, but I was totally okay with that because they are worth the wait! Today was my last session and I doubled my strength in my left hand as compared to when I first started. Sanam, the Occupational Therapist at RTA Irvine, has been working with my husband on his hand strength this year after he lost all strength and dexterity in both hands last year and had neck surgery to fix the problem. It was so debilitating. She and the whole team here have helped my husband after surgery to regain his strength and hand function/dexterity. Sanam has given my husband his independence back. He is so much happier being able to do most of the things he used to do before this issue manifested. We still have more therapy we're doing with Sanam to get him back to 100%. I recently finished my PT at RTA for neck pain. It was my second time coming here for an injury/pain over the past few years. I worked with Michael and Damien and they are awesome. My neck feels so much stronger now as a result of the exercises and stretches they showed me. Front desk staff (Bob and Kristin) are always amazing and friendly too. After a broken wrist bone earlier this year, I received occupational therapy at RTA. Sanam helped me gain strength and mobility so that I am good as new. Now I'm receiving therapy for my leg. I just finished up my month and a half of treatment for a shoulder replacement with Brian. First time having PT. EXCELLENT experience. Professional and accommodating. More importantly, I felt relief of pain and had increased range of motion after my second session. I went for biceps tendinitis and rotator cuff syndrome. Diana was awesome. She was very knowledgeable. She explained everything she did and also which muscle was involved. Diana knew how to work with my vertigo and exercises were tailored to me. I also got home exercises to do that helped a lot. I was so impressed that she did "cupping" for me and knew how to help my tight muscles. I can not recommend them enough! read more

When my doctor first suggested I go to physical therapy, I honestly dreaded the idea because I felt like I might not receive enough one on one attention. However, the physical therapists have exceeded my expectations! Malissa was my PT today and she was AMAZING! She had me working hard, to the point my legs were shaking! I love this because I know I pushed myself more than I thought I could today. She was so attentive, kind, understanding, and I felt like I could really be open and honest with her- and she listens! That's all I can ask for in a physical therapist. Joey and Jim have also been great, the physical therapists here are very easygoing and genuinely friendly. I have had a lot of PT over my life and have seen plenty of bad PT offices and some good but none as good as RTA. I have had 3 sessions each time with 3 different therapists who have their own skills and experiences. I really like that and feels they are each adding to my rehabilitating process in their own way. I feel that my progress is much faster than any I have ever had because of their individual ways of approaching my situation. read more

He made me feel heard, but also his recommendations helped to alleviate my pain and educate me on how each muscle group contributed to my pain. My wife had a very bad experience with RTA they caused her great pain during therapy of a frozen shoulder and her neck hernia started to show as a result of wrong workouts and physical therapy exercises , the therapist was only keen of making more sessions to collect more money. The office refused to make a consultation appointment to evaluate the new case and charged my wife a full session for a few minutes talking to the therapist. read more

I came to RTA with a frozen shoulder. Sever tendentious and a tear that does not require surgery, but needed physical therapy. Unfortunately, I did not get to get in with them as quickly as I'd liked and If I canceled I'd lose those appointments...even after an appendix surgery, however this is not the fault of RTA but instead insurance issues and a pandemic that has greatly affected small businesses. So I made sure and made it to my appointments and the therapists I worked with have worked around my issues, I just have to show up and understand/accept they're cancellation policy. I've seen both Ella and the owner and if I follow the guidance and the home exercises they have given me my shoulder will continue to get better. The receptionist is new, very friendly and welcoming & I look forward to continuing my therapeutic journey with them, as they are respectful of my pain level and not hurrying me to push through it but rather work with it, and that I greatly appreciate!! read more

I was going here for a workmans comp injury on both my leg and shoulder. I had a total of 12 sessions I believe and aside from two times, I had Michael for the entire duration. That being said, they work as such a close knit team here and though the pt can be intense, the camaraderie and support from all is greatly appreciated. As soon as you walk in the office Paola greets you with her warm welcome smile and soon to follow all are saying hello. They seem not only like a family but a well oiled machine. The therapists all seem genuinely happy to be working there and helping all of us recover, kudos to the manager for this. I've never had pt prior but I'd say I felt like I was in very capable and knowledgeable hands. I have been receiving OT from Sanam for my recent injury. I have to say the service is excellent. The place is clean and neat. Lisa at the front desk goes above and beyond to help all who come in to RTA. Sanam is an excellent OT and went above and beyond to meet my needs, comfortable chairs, back support. positioning etc. Lisa noticed on my first visit that I was wearing a boot and offered ice for my ankle even though they were not treating that body part. I was amazed at the kindness and compassion of all of the staff. What a blessing it was to me to assist me through my healing process. Sanam speaks, Persian, english and spanish. I have needed ongoing and intermittent physical therapy for many years but never quite felt satisfied with the care I received until I found RTA through a professional recommendation. I was recovering from a major surgery and needed extensive physical therapy. Derek, the owner, was amazing from our first meeting. He is kind, intelligent, and patient--always willing to explain things to me and even pull out an anatomy book to answer my questions about my injuries. I have been using RTA for over 10 years now, off and on, as I have the need, and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, I still feel safe going in to their office. They take safety and sanitation very seriously. I have referred many friends and even my own daughter uses them for physical therapy. I have been here twice and really went to work feeling great. Unfortunately, the receptionist Lisa just kills any enthusiasm to go to them in my opinion. Extremely rude when I called to set up the appointment. Sent to me forms for my shoulder when in fact it is my lower extremities; and they are always booked, double-booked and she is just frankly RUDE. I would give this a 5-stars rating, but she just depresses making you feel like you shouldnt even go, even though you are in pain. Very disappointing. The other physical therapy places all know that you are suffering and try to make you feel better. Lisa is just untolerable and makes you feel worse. Sorry. Check other places; I will be telling my insurance company. Its really too bad because the physical therapists that worked on me were really really good! read more

I'm a former HS football basketball and track athlete that had to go through 2 acl injuries (same knee) post HS with the goal of still wanting to be athletic and play sports. I've been to 2 physical therapy centers. The first I thought would be amazing. It was a huge facility with a ton of people in it and lots of high tech equipment. The second was RTA. A small, no nonsense, workout space with a few PTs. At first glance RTA didn't have the hype of the first place but the differences were huge and 10x better in RTAs favor. At the big center the trainer would give me an exercise to do and then walk away and go talk to his PT friends since their were so many of them always standing around. I didn't feel myself getting stronger or better but I didn't know any better. At RTA not only did my PT, Jim, pay close attention to my body and movements (making me better mechanically in the process), but he would often times jump in me do them with me and his co worker, Derek, would be paying attention too. Today marks my 5 months out of surgery and I'm already much stronger and better than after my first surgery 5 months out and this is on the same knee! I'm looking forward to dunking again one day and I couldn't have gotten this knowledge and ability without RTA. Everybody should use rta for their PT but if you're an athlete it's a MUST. read more
