Truly a horrible experience. The Cheap Towing company should change their name to "Costly Towing"…read morefor the costly price they offered. Truly a crappy experience dealing with them and would never recommend their service due to price and lack of customer service. This past Saturday night/early Sunday morning, my boyfriend and I called the company to tow the car from Randall's Island to Brooklyn. Cheap Towing provided the quote of $450 and would be coming from Queens within 30 minutes. We initially thought it was expensive, but we wanted to go and accepted the quote. After the 30 minutes, we called to inquire about the ETA and the representative stated the driver was 7 minutes away. Cheap Towing stated in order to proceed with the service, my boyfriend and I needed to pay the initial $60 via Zelle for the tolls. Cheap Towing would not come unless they receive the initial installment. Therefore, the total cost would be $510. We questioned the process, highlighting these terms were not discussed earlier and that the company informed us about the initial installment only when we called to check on the status. The representative stated that the tow was waiting for the initial installment and we inquired, "The driver is waiting over the bridge until we pay the money? When were you going to contact us?! We had to call you." The representative rudely hung up the phone and ceased communication. If it was up to Cheap Towing, we would still be stranded because we have the sense to not prematurely pay via Zelle. Never using this service!!!

'Auto Salvage' is a fancier way of saying junkyard. But junkyards don't have to be those run-down…read moreyards with a chained up rottweiler salivating over the thought of crunching into your bones. Nope, not at all! My dad is a frequent here as he enjoys fixing up cars and I went with him one day because this place also sells cars and he saw one that he liked driving by. We went the day after a big snow day and were not allowed to go into the yard because of ice, which was actually really thoughtful. The guys there did help answer all of my dads questions about the vehicle and they laid it out to him honestly, telling him what was wrong with the vehicle, the make, the model, the year and an estimate on just how much it would cost to get it in good running order. I know my dad has also picked up spare parts from here and we've benefitted from it by such little things as windshield wipers and I think tires too. Just a quick note about the street it's on: it's a super commercial road so it has a lot of work trucks barreling up and down. At it's worst it has giant potholes and also can be addled with nails that have fallen off the trucks. Be wary and vigilant when driving around here!

They were as funny as Howard Stern (at the time, still in his prime), and I told them they should have their own radio show.
