I bought an RS3 in Irvine and planned to drive it back to Seattle. Before leaving I wanted to get the car checked out before taking it and I found RS Autowerks. I wanted a shop that knew Audis (this is my first). JD was great- checked the car and pointed out what I should take care of. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me on some maintenance that could wait and what would be important before a long drive. Really reasonable prices (better than I got from my shop home) and helpful with advice. I drive down every few months and will have RS do a tune on it when I come back. read more

Took my 21' 6 speed gti in thinking all I needed to fix was my throw out bearing. He called a few days after and said we need more work done I said okay cool let's do it. The next day he calls and gives us bad news saying the synchros are pretty much cooked because I was low on trans oil or something which is not my fault because I've had my car for about a year and a half. We go to pick up the car and he's acting super chill and like yeah the other gears are fine, just shift from 2nd to 4th and you'll be good. I start the car, the car still makes the whine noise and it's extremely hard to engage gears. It's frustrating because I spent a large amount of money to fix pieces in the transmission just for him to say I just need a new transmission. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know what needed to be done, I trusted him as he's the mechanic and wished he would've been like let me do a diagnostic before I start so you don't practically throw away 2000 dollars. He laughed it off and was like "at least the whine is quieter" like that makes my life any better? Now I have to spend another 3 grand to find a new transmission when this all could've been done in one go if he would've been like yeah the whine means this and you can't engage because of this. I couldn't even drive my car home because it was so hard for me to get into gears so I had my boyfriend drive it and it's been sitting in my garage collecting dust again because not drivable once again. He charged us 135$ to drain and fill the trans oil and he told my boyfriend he doesn't know if that's gonna fix it. Then why do it? We got brand new trans oil just for the car to still not engage. He threw away all of our money and acted like it was all good but the car came back almost as worse as I brought it in. read more

JD has helped me with my wife's 2017 Subaru Outback twice now. The first time was when I managed to get a piece of plastic tubing stuck in the oil dipstick tube when I was trying to suction out oil (I don't recommend this method on Subarus). I was looking for help on a Facebook group and JD contacted me. Within the day, I had the car at JD's and he pulled the oil pan and fished out about 8 inches of tubing without a problem. 5 Stars for that. The second time he helped me with the car was in performing a timing chain change on the car (routine maintenance at 150,000 miles). I looked up JD, booked a time with him and JD got me taken care of once again with no hiccups. JD is very communicative, has an incredible knowledge of many makes/models (from conversation with him) and brings amazing value to the customer. JD is awesome and cares for the well being his customers. Pricing is fair. Found him when he commented on my forum submission asking help since my mk7 gti had cyl1 misfire. I gave all the info of all that i have done to try and repair myself. Plugs, coils, and injectors changed. Compression test was OK. And that i brought it to another shop and was diagnosed for an ecu issue. He commented his possible diagnosis and offered to see the car as well. I had doubts on consulting with him especially seeing the few reviews and his home garage, but I took a chance and took my car to him. He took 30mins to diagnose that it was the parts that i put that was not OEM. He said changing it to OEM would fix the issue. Lo and behold. He put OEM parts and shes back on the road like nothing happened. Hes also willing to share his knowledge for people that like to tinker but dont understand cars in depth (like me). I think he said he had at least 10 yrs experience working on VW/audi since being owners of such cars. And previously worked for honda. Overall, I hightly recommend JD and his work read more

JD was instantly so open and transparent with everything from the jump and that is one thing I loved and can appreciate lol Our jeep compass needed the head gasket done badd and JD was nice enough to allow use to bring it in a week earlier then we had planned because he his schedule was already so full at that moment. Got the jeep towed and JD helped push it into his lot lol. He got the work done way faster than we thought it would take (took him 3 days) and communicated with me all the way through what he was doing on the car daily. I highly recommend JD from Havens Automotive. I had a well experienced mechanic try and fix my Infiniti G35 but he was stumped trying to fix intermittent misfire. Then took it to a shop I took my truck in for repairs and are also very highly rated. They checked all wiring as they thought it was a wiring issue and ultimately said it was the computer and they said it would be very costly to do. Found Havens from social media and took a chance and he found the issue within a few hours!!! I had him fix it and car runs great. DONT be put off he works from his house garage. Have you ever had a full blown meltdown due to your inability to just know things ? I one hundred and ten percent have . Let me preface this by saying I'm not very bright when it comes to cars. I bring it places and I trust. Come to find out that's not the best way to go about things. Let me tell you how I came to find this out. I took my Honda to a seemingly "reputable" shop. Got some front end work done - didn't realize that if you get some front end work done you need an alignment . I wasn't told that and I'm no expert so I pay and I hit the road. It took me 16 hours to cross four state lines that I can cover in about 9 on a good day. It was the worst 16 hours of my life.. I was a mess I was white knuckled, crying, stressed and just wanted it all to be done. Then I finally reached my destination and there lies before me my savior, havens, dude this name couldn't have been more perfect because this has turned into my safe haven. There my savior stood - friendly, confident , and motivated. "Worry less, my child - as your solution is here" never have I ever received better words of affirmation. There wasn't a single thing wrong he couldn't make better. I don't even believe the word "no" is in his vocabulary. If all you have the energy for is your mental? Let havens take care of the rest - my tears turned from agony to relief in a matter of nine words. On that day my life changed for the better .
