I love raised the track compared to when this was pole position but not a fan of the full face headsock/fee at pole position back in the day before it became RPM, they gave you a headsock as part of the cost of racing and they washed them. There is a reason this gets 2.5 stars (or less now). It's expensive and the experience is substandard and not worth the money. First I paid for three tickets for three people. Was told it was $25 per race only to find out after I ran my credit card that they charged $3 per head sock which they neglected to mention. No big deal but failure to disclose was annoying. Then when you are waiting around (over hour and wasn't that busy) the woman who was organizing everyone to get ready never uses her microphone and it is very loud there. Hard to hear her and she wonders why no one responds. They say wait to call your name and then shout out a number. What's the number for? Oh it's in your receipt that you stuffed in your pocket. But by far the worst is that when you pay $25 I expect a full race experience. They cars went about half speed for nearly the entire race. We were half way through and I was thinking this was boring before they finally kicked off full power but not once did we get around one complete track without getting slowed down. It was a complete joke. To add to the frustration you are at half speed going around a corner when they decide to kick off full power and you go much faster than you were expecting so you were always anticipating this jerk of speed unexpectedly. You had no control. My two older boys had the same frustrations and poor experience as I did. We'd never go there again. Oh and if you look at pricing online don't expect to buy a three race deal with the discount for three people. They won't let you split the purchase across multiple drivers. It's a huge money grab that has no interest in repeat customers and relies on passersby that might rave once or get three race tickets and be forced to go three because of their no refund policy. No refund is a red flag!!! Skip it and find a real track. read more

They took our money for my son who was old enough (7). Then took him back and measured him and he wasn't tall enough. They did not measure until getting him ready for the car. He was devastated. They then told us they don't do refunds even though this was their fault (we were never even told there was a height requirement). We got store credit for "when he's older" despite being from out of town. I was told a refund takes 2-3 weeks and to start the process I had to email the GM who wasn't on site at 2 PM on a Saturday. It makes absolutely no sense why he wasn't measured before we paid. read more

When we were on the tracks, the dude with the flags wasn't paying attention so we had a lot of players tailgating each other since he didn't flag according to their "safety video". We "rented the whole place," showed up 20 minutes before our first race was scheduled, and they claimed we were late and over booked, causing us to have a massive delay and many other people were there, and we didn't get half of what we payed for. We will never book another event here. read more

I am from Buffalo New York and I visited the location in Syracuse while visiting Destiny USA . We were told there would be about an hour wait because there were 10 groups ahead of us . We came back 45 minutes later and a new employee (the general manager ) told us there were now 14 groups ahead of us and it would another 2 hour wait and that whoever told us the original time frame was wrong . We explained we were out and town and needed to leave in the next hour to take care of my friends dog , however she showed no interest in our situation. I looked on Yelp once I got home , and this is a very common problem. (People are being told they are one number in the queue and they end up being another and hours later ) . At almost $18 for an approximate 7 minute ride , I believe the customer service should be of higher quality and they should disclose more information about the process and wait times , especially when not offering refunds when you are told the wrong information . I know wait times are approximate , but this was an extreme difference , and since there was only 2 of us adults , I would think the general manager would try to rectify the situation instead of seeming unapologetic and disinterested . The service could 100% improve, and the race was ok the only fun I had was winning. The guy that checked me for seatbelt said I cannot touch and it was very loose and I fastened it just a little bit because that's how I thought I was gonna race. Then the very nice lady fastened it and I felt secure. The same lady doing flags could've been paying a little more attention because I kept getting bumped right in front of her, and the safety video clearly said no bumping. The front desk said I was in next race and I waited 3 races. Races before me it looked like employees were treating them horribly. Screaming at the people that did nothing. Also the people behind me bumping me didn't get slowed down I got slowed down and kept getting bumped and I never got the blue with orange striped flag. Service could improve big time. Wanted to take our family racing today, only to find that they could not accomodate our son's requirements so that he could enjoy in the family fun. Karts are fast! And the flag guy I had was pretty relaxed. Still made sure everyone behaved appropriately and passed when required, but not much slowing of karts or stopping of race. I've had bad experiences where they take it too seriously. Overall it was tons of fun, if only two of the people during my race would've gone faster! read more

RPM Raceway was an addition to the expansion of the mall when it became Destiny years ago, but was originally known as Pole Position. After a current rebranding process in the last year according to the management. A lot of people are confused as to if they are even there anymore. But a indoor go kart track in the city is a fantastic thing I've been meaning to try for a while. The cars themselves are an electric Italian designed vehicle that reminded me a lot of a formula car by the sounds they made as they ripped around the track. I've driven gas powered go karts in the past and they were always a lot of fun but handle completely different than these do and it took me a few passes to get used to how they braked and accelerated through corners. I know I'll be back to improve on my time. Because by the time I really was able to drop the hammer down I'd already burned through about 10 laps and my time was almost up. I'll be much more comfortable next time. Plus after an accident 10 years ago on a ATV I haven't raced anything or driven fast in a while. But man this was some stress relief that really gets the adrenaline flowing. One thing I like as well is how much safety is thought about here. The cars are highly maintained being torn down once a month and rebuilt to make sure they are safe and they give you helmets and five point harnesses in the cars as well as people that are running controls on the side to make sure no one gets hurt and everyone has a high energy good time. The staff and management are wonderful friendly and caring. The way the races work you are really racing against yourself not against anyone else. There can be others on the track but they have a computer system that saves your best lap times and you are trying to beat those. So if you're passed by another racer. You don't really take it personally. All in all. My visit here today was a fantastic experience and something I plan to do now a few times a year to get some adrenaline out. Bravo RPM. So a lot of you may not realize, but Pole Position Raceway didn't close at the mall. They rebranded and are now RPM Raceway. I can tell you that there is only good news in this review, as it is still so fun to go there. My family was visiting from out of town and were looking for things to do on a cold winter's day and so we took them here. The reason we were able to do this is that this entire track is indoors! Don't let that worry you though! The tracks are huge, there are no stinky smells, and safety is their number one priority! One of the things I love about this place, is that the races are still competitive without sacrificing safety. It's not about who finishes the race first, it's about who has the best track completion time. This is a great way to make sure someone doesn't drive like a maniac, but also maintaining that racing vibe. They also have 3 different age brackets so that you can bring children, teens, or adults! Pricing is fair for the amount of time your on the track, but they also have memberships for those hardcore racers. I highly recommend coming here ASAP! read more

This was definitely an exhilarating thing to do!! Those little karts really can move! (as long as the other drivers stay out of your way and let you pass). If you're looking for a fun, competitive thing to do, go! This is the former Pole Position, just with a name change - plus added laps! I like that they extended the amount of laps that you are allowed to race. It was really the perfect amount of time - not too long, not too short. You get 14 laps and I think that they said the track was 1/4 mile. You start by signing a waiver and entering your info. You then watch a safety video and are given the run down by the staff. They explain the flags, how to operate the karts, basic safety info. You get your helmets - they give you a head sock to use, for sanitary purposes, get in, buckle up and get out there to kick butt! LOL In looking at the price board, it appears that if you plan to go more than twice, the annual membership is worth while. This is definitely a fun outing. Plus they do offer lower speed karts from younger kids, so don't think that you can't bring your younger kids too! I think it was 7 and up. read more

After 2 hours we tried to talk to Mgr but she was very unpleasant and said no refunds and it wasn't her fault because she can't predict how long the wait was. After a 3 hr wait we raced. Tonight our family went to RPM raceway syracuse ny, they are NOT autism spectrum disorder (ASD), FRIENDLY!! A family outing that started with encouragement and interacting socially turned out in a pointing, laughing phones out humiliating moment for us! As a business I would expect RPM Raceway to encourage everyone to enjoy their Raceway instead a young employee walked away from his register to pull out his phone when my brother crashed. Instead of owning up to the situation when confronted told the manager who backed this young man that we simply made the situation up. And would not refund us what so ever.Nor were we even given an apology for what had happen. Yet made us feel like we can't even go out as a family and do normal high function activities.. At point of sale I was given the impression by the person selling the ticket that it would be 30-60 min wait. I founf out later that I was 6 rides doen at 15 min a piece. Waited 2 hrs still no ride. Apparently a birthday group came in late. Very dissappointed. After explaining the situation management refused to give refund. It was either continue to wait or miss my movie. It could have been a fun afternoon. Just know if you go you will end up waiting waaay longer than expected. Very dissappointed at the inflexibility of the management on duty. read more

What a great place to get your adrenaline pumping. The karts here go super fast and are well controlled so you don't spin out easily. It can go up to 45 mph in a few seconds. They even have a junior's sized kart for kiddos that go up to 25 mph and is a smaller size. Outside of the race karts, this space has videos games, crane games and a basketball hoop arcade game. The space is very well organized and clean. There's a back room where I think you can book for private parties. They inspect the cars monthly so you can ensure that you're riding in a safe vehicle. The helmets come in over 5 sizes and you get a head "sock" to help your head slip into the helmet and to prevent the helmet from getting stinky or gross. They have lockers for you to keep your belongings so your valuables don't fall out during the race. They space you and the racers apart and you race for time not position. This way, you have space and aren't as likely to be playing bumper cars. They have different flags that tell you what to do. Green means the race is starting. Checkered flag means the finish line. Blue with a stripe means someone behind you is about to pass you so you should move to the right and slow down to let them thru. And black flag means you're doing something wrong. Your karts are controlled by red remote controls that workers use to help manage your driving in cases where you're getting out of hand or if they want to slow everyone down due to a crash ahead. I had a ton of fun racing here and felt like I was going super fast! (Even though I got 6th place out of 8 people ....). I'd recommend this for people of all ages. read more

Racing really isn't my thing. I've gone twice here once when my family was in town for vacation and again for a yelp event. Neither time did I get in the car and race but still I had a good time. When my family were in town my step mother and I picked up a quick snack from the desk and sat and watched the kids and my dad race. Just watching everyone else have a good time and taking photos and videos was a blast. The yelp event was similar except I got to learn a bit more about the company and all that goes into it before being a spectator. I like that many of the seats around the track are in the common area of the mall so if a race is going on while you are out shopping you can steal a quick seat and take a break. I'll definitely recommend this place to any of my more adventurous friends and family. read more

Went here with my two kids. After their races they seemed upset but wouldn't say why until we got into the car. Then they told us that the pit crew were jerks and wouldn't help them. My kid needed his seat adjusted and the employee told him "just deal with it". Ruined their first (and now only) experience here, said all they did was get yelled at. Waiting for management to call me. Only nice employees were the ones at the payment counter and the ones helping with helmets. My kids said the rest of them were jerks to them. I have been working at raceways like this for two years now; it was my first job working at speed Raceway. And going to college and not being able to race has always been a downside for me; however, when going to rpm Raceway, I was very excited to gain some credit and go back into my racing hobbies. But was enormously disappointed by the lack of character, staff dull and sharp track and very rude attitude the whole place had for someone who has a lot of experience racing let me first say that the track didn't feel right the attitude in the pit towards the actual racing was a huge disappointment. They discouraged things like leaning while racing and any other helpful tip that we encourage at my raceway very disappointed, and the prices are so high! Their annual membership pass -- that we call a "half-price pass" is way overpriced. It's basically our normal prices that they consider "half" RPM Raceway was a very big disappointment for someone like me who loves to race and is familiar with the whole dynamic of racing and work environment of my over two years of work. It does upset me that it was a bad time because I only get to come home so few times. I look forward to racing and doing something familiar well up in college, but sadly it is not the same experience. Still, with the same equipment, I was not impressed by anything of the employees, their attitude, and clear lack of organization that the employees and manager had very disorganized very laughable, and extremely disappointing still had a little bit of fun. They had left things in an awkward state to say the least. However, the positives were the one remoter dude with a lot of charisma and expression while dancing around on the remote stand. Definitely someone I'd love to work with. The dude in the pit kept jumping my kart and pulling my straps when I had told him to back off. Personally I would say maybe making a more straightaway track encouraging and teaching customers how to race properly and definitely making it wider. also the track can be very dangerous because of the quick turns and lack of allowing to pass the track is so narrow that I can barely pass only at one point which leads to frequent kart on karts and possible injury. Their use of no paper though and emailing the results is a brilliant idea and something I wish we did. Still very poor and disappointed in general with track and customer service. read more
