I was traveling and got a flat tire. I pulled into this place to see if they could fix my flat. The…read moretire wasn't repairable so the mechanic told me to move my car so he could put on the spare. I guess it was naive of me to think the ask was out of kindness. I pulled out the spare. He jacked up the car and changed the tire. I put the bad tires in the trunk and began filling the tire with air from my own person air compressor. They then asked for my keys so they could move the car to use their equipment to fill the tire. I went in my car to grab $20 in cash to thank the mechanic but the mechanics said to check out with the owner. When the clerk said "that will be $89, I thought he was joking. $89 for less than a 5 minutes job?!?! When I questioned the absorbent cost, they were kind enough to remove the $9 hazmat fee. Now I should have asked about the cost up front. That's on me. BUT they could have also mentioned there would be a 30 minute labor charge for less than 5 minutes of work, and the use of their tools. Lesson learned. But these guys are shady. Take your business elsewhere.

He may be a great mechanic, so I have no criticism there - we just had ordinary maintenance, so I can't comment on that. But he will do unnecessary work under the guise of saying he is thorough and only does things right. But to run a computer diagnostic for a tire pressure light, in the fall when the tire pressures always change with the weather, was overkill at a cost of $128 an hour. Of course he did say he would have had to charge .3 hours just to put the air in the tires. Other places do that for free. The charge for the oil change (only, no other fluids or air filter), front brake pads (only - though he says he disassembles and cleans everything), the unnecessary computer diagnostic, and air in the tires was over $500. When we questioned the young woman at the desk she got the owner, who came at us with a nasty attitude out of the gate, which set the tone for the whole conversation. Ultimately he knocked the price to $410, which we appreciate, but even at that price, if we had known in advance, we would have picked the car up and gone elsewhere. He gave a few excuses as to why he did the work without telling us the price first, but they were poor excuses. He said he had to run the car extended warranty info to determine if any of the work was covered, and by the time that came back the work was done. That never should happen - if there was a delay in getting that answer, they should have delayed the work or told us the max cost to us and asked if we wanted it done anyway in case nothing was covered. Again, other people use him regularly, and he may be a great mechanic - but his business acumen and customer service is terrible. He could have had a new regular customer had he handled this differently.
