Our guardian angel saw we were having trouble, this perfect stranger passed us but turned around and camp back to save us, his name is Mike Starett. Mike just happened to be the uncle to Joe Starett, who proundly owns, operates and is very much an active owner to MountaineerRV in Jane Lew, WV. Mike helped my husband take the remainder of the lift off the camper and loaded it and my scooter into the back of his truck, called his nephew who told us to call service in the morning. Mike then proceeded to take us to a local campground where we could park for the night. The following morning, service dept . was called, Joe came to our campsite with Mike and another young man, loaded up the lift, scooter and led us to MRV. Joe ran to the shop to pick up the new bolts we needed, had them installed, put the lift back on the camper. Dee, service manager, made us comfortable while we waited for install, Gina, Joe's wife came and turned on the TV and fireplace to make sure we were comfortable, I can not say enough great things about the staff and service, except I wish we lived closer to be able to use MountaineerRV on a regular basis. The price for parts and repairs were very reasonable. We were well looked after while waiting and all done in 2 hours. We were incredibly relieved to have this fixed! We were told they could do it in 2 weeks, and they would need to keep it for a week. We dropped it off on June 5th, before we left for vacation. When we got home on June 17, they said it was not done. We said we had to have it for a show by the 21st, and they said it would be ready by then. It was not. There were still two minor things that had not been completed. They said it would be finished by the following Monday or Tuesday, the 24th or 25th. We picked it up on the 21st just for the weekend to use it for the show, and dropped it right back off on the 24th. And on July 1st we went to get it, and they still had not touched it. We picked it up, paid for what they completed before the 21st, and we will never be back. They claimed they were "busy" and couldn't get to it. No communication whatsoever, and no effort to rectify the situation. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We will be taking our business and our money elsewhere from now on!

Looking at their website all of their reviews of a 4 or 5 seems bogus to me…read more I drove 185 miles to look at a used older model. My Salesman was Mark Raddish. He said the unit was in perfect order and that a couple had bought it for $4000 cash never used it and was trading it in for a unit with A/C. After driving thru 3 major rain storms to get there their service guy started showing me all about the unit. Don't remember his name but he was a great guy. when he was taking down the unit the front slid wouldn't even go back into the unit. The only way they could get it to work was have a guy push on the front and hold the pop up at the rear. You could see where somebody used a pair of vise grips or some other tool to try and getg the slid to go back. The channel was all mangled up. To say I was really upset would be an understatement. I then had to wait about 45 minutes for them to refund my $500 deposit. Lesson learned don't buy or put a deposit down with this dealership until you see it in person. And don't buy a used unit off Mark Raddish until you see it first. For sure the dealership doesn't earn all the high marks they have on their website and I couldn't even post one there. This review reflects a series of connected failures, not a one-time problem…read more I responded to an RV listing advertised at $6,499. The initial quote included a prep plan, which was later removed. Once removed, Camping World Fairmont then claimed I had "denied" the prep plan and used that as justification to refuse a walk-through inspection. Pricing and terms shifted repeatedly. Communication was chaotic. I dealt with multiple sales contacts, unclear authority, and last-minute changes -- including being told the RV was AS IS and required a cashier's check, despite extensive prior communication and disclosure that I was purchasing from out of state. On Friday, December 5, 2025, I was kept on the lot until after 4:30 PM. A hole in my tire was known to staff, yet I was not assisted on-site. Instead, I was pushed to leave as the store closed and directed toward Tygart Lake State Park. I was told to find help elsewhere. I am a Platinum Elite Good Sam member, and this occurred after payment, late on a Friday, in winter conditions. The campground was closed, and I remained safe only because a Park Ranger intervened. Earlier that day, a hitch installation at Camping World Fairmont was followed by electrical failure in my vehicle. After roadside assistance and a tow, the dealership declined delivery and redirected responsibility to insurance without evaluating the issue. Posting this so others can make informed decisions.

After an hour of fruitless calls I was lucky to find Ft Ashby. Fred and an associate were out to us within a couple hours, ran back to the shop for a welder and were able to weld the bracket and give us a workable fix to get back on the road, outstanding response and service! With a family get together planned a couple days later they saved the trip and all our plans, I could have been easily stuck until Monday without their timely assistance. They assured us it did not well that was a big joke so now we're stuck with another camper that has water damage. Very disappointed will not buy a used camper there again. The paperwork is very slow. The bank is still waiting for the title just freaking crazy.
