What are the chances I would find such a friendly and knowledgeable, fully certified master mechanic while passing through Amherst, VA? It was an unbelievable blessing! My "check engine" indicator light came on while driving to Atlanta. The message said, "Check AWS system." I quickly reviewed my manual, but it only said to pull over and have a garage or Toyota shop read the car's computer. I was worried and had no idea if I could find an open garage on a weekday afternoon or one that could diagnose our problem quickly. Therefore, I looked for garages AND hotels near Amherst because I needed to figure out how long we would be stranded. Amazingly, I found Amherst Garage located nearby, and even more amazingly, they were available to help. Rick plugged in the diagnostic reader to the car's computer. It lit up like a Christmas tree. All indicators pointed to a battery problem, and again, we were fortunate that Rick had the correct battery for my old 2015 Toyota Highlander in stock.
