Camping World - Fairmont

Camping World - Fairmont

This review reflects a series of connected failures, not a one-time problem…read more I responded to an RV listing advertised at $6,499. The initial quote included a prep plan, which was later removed. Once removed, Camping World Fairmont then claimed I had "denied" the prep plan and used that as justification to refuse a walk-through inspection. Pricing and terms shifted repeatedly. Communication was chaotic. I dealt with multiple sales contacts, unclear authority, and last-minute changes -- including being told the RV was AS IS and required a cashier's check, despite extensive prior communication and disclosure that I was purchasing from out of state. On Friday, December 5, 2025, I was kept on the lot until after 4:30 PM. A hole in my tire was known to staff, yet I was not assisted on-site. Instead, I was pushed to leave as the store closed and directed toward Tygart Lake State Park. I was told to find help elsewhere. I am a Platinum Elite Good Sam member, and this occurred after payment, late on a Friday, in winter conditions. The campground was closed, and I remained safe only because a Park Ranger intervened. Earlier that day, a hitch installation at Camping World Fairmont was followed by electrical failure in my vehicle. After roadside assistance and a tow, the dealership declined delivery and redirected responsibility to insurance without evaluating the issue. Posting this so others can make informed decisions.

I wish I could give them zero stars. They have had our camper for MONTHS. No one calls you back. No…read moreone knows what's going on. The turnover is so high you will talk to one person who you think will help you, and then call back two weeks later and they are already gone. They will perform UNAUTHORIZED work on your camper, without your knowledge and then expect you to pay for it. We simply wanted our awning FABRIC replaced. They gave us a quote of $1800. Months later, it's now over $6000 because they decided the mechanical parts needed replaced. No one called us to let us know. No one asked us to authorize the additional work. Now they are holding our camper hostage for work we didn't authorize.

First, I really hate to "bash" a local, small business. I didn't want it to come to this. Please…read moretry a different place. I am not one to write reviews, but I feel I need to for Jones RV. They are not a member of the BBB as far as I could tell. This is what was supposed to be done: Inspection Generator needed fixed not replaced New water pump AC needed fixed not replaced New awning New slide out toppers The have now had my RV for over 6 weeks. They waited a full month to inspect it and said there is a tail light problem that they "have to figure out". I picked out the new awning when I dropped it off, but they waited a couple weeks before ordering it. Then, they told me it was a custom size and it would take 4 weeks to install. I am so frustrated with this place. Please do not try them. There is no reason they should have my RV for this long. I have lost about a month of use/rentals. I cannot stress this enough... Do not go here. Try a different place.

Not a big fan of this place…read more It took me 20 minutes to track down the a single person to help me. I asked anyone that I saw and no one seemed to work there they all just said that I needed to wait to talk to the owner. Once he finally came down he told me that I had the wrong part for the RV I had. Luckily I had measured the RV piece before I left so I knew it was the correct part. He told me that there was no returning it if it was the wrong piece. Customer service skills = 0 When I went to check out he told me they don't accept credit cards. I asked if I i could set up an account as I run a business that would have used his store frequently. He told me "Son your going to need to grab your wallet out of your pocket and pull out some cash". As I was leaving he told me that he didn't really care about the business. He told me that he was just doing it to kill time, that his wife had ran the store and accepted credit cards but now that she no longer helps he was just killing time.

I consigned my RV with RV Leaders in the fall of 2025. What followed was a masterclass in how a…read morebusiness can technically stay within a contract while acting unethically at every turn. Timeline: Early January 2026: I requested early termination of the consignment and asked to retrieve my RV. January 16: Kelly confirmed a pickup date of January 22 in writing. January 21, 12:21 PM: Kelly contacted me with an offer to sell the RV. I declined explicitly in writing, stating I wanted to keep it and would be picking it up as scheduled. January 21, 12:52 PM: Kelly informed me he had already taken a deposit -- 31 minutes after I refused the sale in writing. January 22: On the day of my confirmed pickup, Kelly emailed me to say the RV had already been sold and delivered. Multiple attorneys I consulted confirmed that while their conduct may have been within the technical terms of the contract, it showed complete disregard for my clearly stated wishes as the owner. They prioritized their commission over my rights at every decision point. I ultimately had no practical choice but to accept the sale, as litigation would have been costly and uncertain. I'm posting this so others know what to expect. If you're considering consigning with RV Leaders: Expect zero flexibility or accommodation Don't trust written agreements -- they will interpret every ambiguity in their favor Once they have your property, they will do what benefits them financially, not you Emails and written confirmations mean nothing if there's money on the table I do not recommend RV Leaders & Camping Outlet.
