Our tech, Cameron, brought our computer back today. Both he and the owner reported that our computer worked fine at the store. As it turned out the chord which connects the computer to the power was broken. It was replaced immediately by the owner, who drove the part to our home. We were not charged for the visit and our computer works very well now. The only concern was the grounding from our wires in the house. (Old house) I am so grateful for the business not giving up on our equipment or us. A personal apology to the business for my original angry review. This is the real one!

I searched multiple ratings and found CCW Technology rated very well and looked to be affordable and trustworthy. I brought my computer in and met with Allen and Angie. Allen grabbed some testing equipment and checked for a few common problems to see if he could get me up and running while I waited. Allen found and showed me a small resistor/chip that blew on my motherboard. I left my computer with CCW and they took care of everything. CCW got my replacement motherboard and had me back up and running like nothing happened. The price was very affordable and the turnaround time was quicker than expected. I also appreciated that CCW sent me update emails, letting me know when the new part arrived and the status of the repair. If I should have any other problems CCW will be my fist call.

DO NOT make the mistake of dealing with them! They appear to be local, but they require you to send your drive out of state. Since the turn around time and the inconvenience was stupid, I decided to shop around. Fortunately I found Allen's company. He really is local and he is highly capable! Even in this crazy time of social distancing, he was able to arrange to evaluate the drive the same day that I called him. The other company had given me a "ball park" estimate of $500.00 to $1650.00 and a turn around time of 4-6 weeks. Allen's estimate was $134.00! Which also included him "cloning" my data on to an SSD that I provided to him. The best part was that he was able to finish the repair the next day. My computer now works fine and boots faster than when it was brand new! I very much recommenced this company for all your data recovery needs! So what about Secure Data? They followed up with me today to see if I was still interested, and when I told their rep my story, she proceeded to disparage Allen's company, saying that I was lucky that it was such a simple fix because if he had had to open the drive he would have ruined it. Boy, that was professional. . . NOT!!!!! There is zero chance that I would do business with Secure Data Recovery!
