jim; the person who was suppose to do my work called twice in a week to tell me he would be here on the following friday to do the work, he again called me the evening before to confirm i would be home. i assured him i would be there and he would be here a little after noon. i waited until 3pm when he didn't show up i called the company, they contacted jim and he said he lost the paperwork. i cancelled and would not recommend them. know one called to appoligze. i would recommend timber tree to do any work in the future. read more

Hired to cut down 19 trees. Came out on a saturday to check it out. Gave me a very good price. Within a week all trees were gone and stumps ground out. Looks like people had mixed experience but mine couldnt have been better. Was recommended to me and I recommended to a friend. read more

Had Royer come out to cut down a tree and cut branches over my service wires of a neighbor's tree back to property line. They cut down my tree BUT went and cut down branches on my neighbor's tree that were not on my property. In a nutshell, they cut down the wrong branches that were not even close to being on my property. I called them and they were rude and only wanted their money despite not finishing the job. They claimed that the branches to be cut back over the service wires we contracted for were not in the contract (They were) and would be doing me a favor. After coming out and seeing the mistake they made they finally agreed to come back and cut the branches back as a favor (no it was not). I asked them to call me before they did any more work. Of course they did not do this. They just came back and did the job. Find someone more reputable. read more

They do not seem to need business. I called to schedule a tree removal (they had already quoted a price). I was told they would call back in 7-10 days (just to set a date!). Waited two weeks. Called again. Was told they would call back. The next day phoned again. Was told they would call back the same day. Still no call. If you want your job done, promptly, look elsewhere! read more

Arrived on time, did a great job removing two very large trees and tidied up after themselves. Very friendly and professional and would thoroughly recommend and have already done so to a couple of my friends . I have to comment on masks seeing as this is in times of COVID and others have commented - these guys work outside usually considerably more than 6 feet away from each other and me , they're all doing a job that involves heavy machinery and really dangerous equipment. Any distraction could result in a branch on your roof or an accident to themselves so I absolutely did not expect masks to be worn - I have trouble pushing my shopping cart in a straight line sometimes with a mask on so when someone is concentrating on removing a tree limb with a chain saw and craning it over my roof whilst sitting on their own in a crane or up a tree then I am more than happy for them not to wear one . . The job itself has socially distancing built in and I was in my house so never felt the need to request they put one on . Thanks Royer for a great job well done . read more

Royer recently removed several trees from my property. Mr. Royer came out himself and did the estimate. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. It took about a month between the estimate and the actual job, but everything was backed up because of the weather. Both the gentleman who performed the estimate as well as the crew doing the work were efficient and polite. The price was more than fair. You have to be an "existing customer" for Royer to even quote tree work for you. I first used them about 20 years ago in another town, more recently when they came to do a small job in my current property. I called April 2018, they came and quoted the work for cutting a large tree down, and work on several other trees - easily a full day's work. I called in May to get on their schedule, they said it would be 4 to 6 weeks to get to me; said they'll call with a couple days notice before the date. That put me into mid-June. I called in June to see if they were close to getting to me - left a message with the answering service- no call back. A couple more messages over next week, no call back. About 8 days later, I get a call with this statement: "sorry, but I don't know if we'll be able to do your trees. I've been told by all of the places that I take my trees that they're full up and I can't bring them any more wood, so I'm shut down for a while. I don't want to have to drive 300 miles to drop off my wood. Call me mid-July and I'll let you know where we're at". I never heard such a problem existed. I thought maybe they wanted vacation, and used this excuse for delaying. The following week I decided to call their answering service, asked the guy "so is Royer still working, or have they stopped for a couple weeks?" He said "why would you think that, this is their busy season, they wouldn't break for summer vacation. That's crazy- they've been working constantly." So there it is - I was told a big, fat lie by Royer, to get out of doing the work they quoted me. I spoke to a developer working all through my town who I knew, (who uses Royer) and told him the story. He was very surprised, and said "if some company lied to me like that, I wouldn't do business with them anymore. You should just call someone else". Well, Royer probably gets calls from developers often, who want a quick turn-around; so they go off any "schedule" and jump right on the developer's job. Screw the other customer, if they're not a "frequent flyer", they're not worth the time. So I went on the internet, found Mal's tree service (with very good reviews) who quoted me the same day and showed up 10 days later and did an awesome job. So, bye-bye Royer, I won't be a bother to you anymore. Not that you would even care... it's pretty sad that you feel that lying to customers is good business practice. read more

Well in comparison to other tree services that I have called over the 31 years in my home. The initial call was answered quickly and reasonable estimate given quickly. Scheduling had one or 2 hiccups BUT in comparison to other tree services I give these guys 5 stars.. came today when they said they would...4 guys worked 4 hours and place was clean after they left. Royer Tree Service came to my house about 2 1/2 weeks ago to give me an estimate on some tree work - 3 large oaks, 2 small trees, and some trimming. No stump grinding - just cut low b/c some landscape work will be done next by another company which will take care of those. Their price was the best around , I had called a few places. They came in significantly less than McKinney. At first I questioned my decision... When I called to say I would like them to do the work, they estimated 7-10 days out. I called back in that timeframe to find out if they would be close but didnt get a call back until 7 AM one morning asking if they could come that day. This was about 2 weeks from when I decided on using their company. This wasn't an issue for me, certainly not enough to rate 4 stars instead of 5, but I wonder if it would have been for another customer that wasn't home for the call to move some things around and be there to ensure everything they wanted done would be completed. In any case, they came to my home with some heavy machinery, and the job was completed in about 4-4.5 hours. One of the guys came knocking letting me know it was best to shut some windows b/c of the kick up of the chipper. I thought that was nice. I didn't mind them driving on my lawn b/c we are re-grading it anyways, but honestly I don't feel that their trucks did much damage to my lawn at all. They did a great job cleaning away the extra branches. I am extremely happy with my new sunny yard. When I went to pay, I also had $100 off coupon that they honored even though it expired at the end of last month. I was thrilled with the work done, and the low price. I think they may have underestimated the job, because when I went to pay there was a double take at the estimate (no comments made but a definite glance in the direction of the estimate) but in any case that is what they estimated, and therefore what I paid. I would definitely use them again, but no need b/c now I have no more trees!!! I will certainly recommend them to a friend. read more

I requested an estimate to have a dead tree removed (approx. 14 ft trunk with half dozen big branches). Royer gave me an estimate of $1500.00. to have the tree removed to a stump. When the workers arrived, I asked them to remove only the branches instead and leave the whole trunk (as the issue was only safety concerns). They removed and chipped the dead branches quickly and professionally. My only complaint was that Royer did not pro-rate or discount the original estimate taking into account that the work order was changed to having only the branches removed, and none of the trunk. For that reason only, I'd give them 3 stars instead of 5 and do a bit more shopping around next time. :) read more

We just had four very large trees removed at our house in Canton and was very impressed with the Royer team. Their estimate was very fair. They told me they would complete the job in 7-10 days and would call two days in advance of the job. Like clockwork they showed up as planned. The crew was amazing. I called these folks for a tree removal estimate. Within hours, Mr Royer came and wrote up a fair estimate. After reviewing estimate, I contacted the office to ask a few follow up questions and to schedule the removal. I was told that someone from the office would contact me within 7 to 10 days. All sounded good to me. 2 weeks later, the office contacted me telling me that their crew would be out the following morning and to insure that no vehicles were in the driveway, on the street in front of my house, and across the street. Again, sounded good to me. After kindly asking my neighbors to refrain from parking around the perimeter of my house, Royer Tree Service never showed up nor called to cancel. I called the office the following day and whoever answered was rather blunt quickly telling me that they are very busy. Okay, fine, but If you are that busy, then why call to schedule it in the first place? They offered to reschedule the removal for the following week and proceeded to tell me they were writing the appointment in their date/planning book as we were speaking. The following week came and, again, I asked my neighbors to refrain from parking, and yet again, they never showed up nor called to cancel. I called for the third and final time and explained to the answering service what had happened and was told that they would pass the message along. I waited 24 hours and gave up. HORRIBLE. AWFUL. RUDE. They told us we needed to have all of our neighbors move their cars off the street so they could do their work, so we bought each of our neighbor a bottle of wine, explained we're removing the beloved tree and they all moved their cars by 7:15am as we requested. Royer showed up as scheduled and couldn't fit the crane so they left after 20 minutes and never came back. They have not answered or returned any of our calls two full days later. This of course is a ripple effect as now I have to have the landscapers who were scheduled for tomorrow hold off and it goes on and on and on. We are now going with another company. Do not trust these people. They showed up for planned tree work, one guy got out of the truck and looked at it, then they all left. They never did the work, never called, and never returned any of my many calls. I wasted over a month after they came for the estimate, waiting for the appointment. I wanted them to grind down a tree that grows like a weed year after year. I thought that while they were doing that, I'd have them take care of a couple of other things. They did not grind the tree down that I wanted them to, they did one right next to it that was nearly completely rotted. They claimed they did what was on their quote, but it wasn't what I wanted done. When I brought it to their attention, they did not care. I have steered others away from their business, and I recommend that you go to an outfit that cares about customer satisfaction. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Royer Tree Service. They did the estimate quickly and beat the price of other companies by quite a bit. I read the reviews and was concerned and almost didn't go with them. The negative reviews however were not about the quality and skill around tree removal but rather about scheduling, showing up and completing the work in a timely way. So we decided to go with them and to not put down any money and pay in full when the job was completed. They agreed to that and we scheduled a date. I reached out to them prior to the date and asked for proof of insurance. They turned the request around quickly and sent the information to me by email. We were not on any critical time frame so we set our expectations low and expected them not to arrive on the scheduled day, again due to the reviews. They showed up on the scheduled day, at the time they said they would arrive. It was pouring rain and yet they still showed and worked all day in the rain. They were nice guys and very professional. They took down around 28 trees for us in 2 days and ground up the stumps on the third day, which was Christmas Eve. It was incredible watching them take down these huge trees, they were methodical and safe in their approach. I would definitely recommend them and would use their services again in the future. read more

We needed a super-tall, super-dead tree removed in order for our neighbors to replace their retaining wall - we have been waiting for this wall to be replaced for 8 -- EIGHT -- years. I did not want our work to delay or postpone their work, so when I explained my predicament to the office, they were nice enough to re-arrange schedules (during the very busy fall season) and complete the work ahead of schedule and at a reasonable price. I did have to follow up with calls and messages, but that is to be expected during a tree service company's busiest time of the year. We will happily use Royer again. read more

No call whatsoever. If they keep this up for all customers, the company will not last very long. At least give me a call and let me know you will be unable to cut down the tree for us. They were cheaper than other companies and for a reason. They did a quick hack job on my trees and did no shaping as was requested as part of the quote. Sloppy work in general. Not quite a butcher job but pretty close. If you need a limb removed or a whole tree cut down I suppose they are capable, if you care what your tree's look like when they finish I would suggest looking on Angies List. Called this company last month and they gave me a quote quickly. I called to schedule a date to cut down the tree, the lady at the office picks up and says they will leave a note and they will have someone call me back to schedule. I called multiple times and still no call back. If the company keeps it up, they will not last long since there are many tree services in the area. At the very least the company could have told me they would be unable to cut down the tree for me. I read several Yelp reviews and many other people had the same issue I had and I highly don't recommend Royer Tree Services at all.. read more

Disappointed. Royer came out and bid a job and they were the cheapest (not by much). They came out and did the job as requested. Unfortunately, while they used a crane to lift the tree, they didn't use any support and damaged my side lawn in several large areas. I called to ask if they were going to repair the damage. The owner acknowledged their mistake and called to say they would take care of it. Two months later, no one ever showed up. The cost to repair the lawn will negate any savings I had with Royer. I was really disappointed, especially after a neighbor recommended the company. Next time I'll go with someone else. read more

They came set up their equipment , removed the tree, cleaned up and were gone within 45 minutes. They were professional and friendly. I would definitely use them again read more
