She has dyed my hair so many colors and each time she is careful and does as minimal damage as possible with the bleach (my natural hair is a very dark brown, almost black, and she got my entire head to light pink in one session without me going bald lol). Tina always achieves the color that I want and she cuts and styles my hair so cute! They always offer drinks and chips too, the service is just amazing. They were so kind and accommodating as they rebooked my appointment over the phone for a couple days later. For a cut, wash, and blow dry, it's a pretty great price and I loved my new haircut. Without clearly disclosing any additional cost, the stylist added a $41 "gloss" treatment. Total cost: $96. When we were at the register and saw that her bill had almost doubled, I asked what the extra charge was. The cashier said "haircut and gloss." I turned to my mom and asked, "Did you get a gloss?" (I didn't even know what that was.) She seemed unsure so the cashier went back and asked the stylist and confirmed the charge. The cashier offered no apology, no explanation, and no option to remove the charge. I spoke to my mom later and she told me that the stylist had asked, "Do you want your hair to look shiny?" and she answered yes, having no idea she was agreeing to a $41 add-on. Had she understood it cost extra, she would have declined. My mom has very short, fine senior hair that she washes every day. A $41 gloss is completely unnecessary and the way it was presented to a 93-year-old woman feels predatory. This is the second local salon that has done virtually the same thing to her (previous one turned a $25 cut into $50 with similar undisclosed add-ons). The haircut itself was fine, but targeting elderly clients with confusing, expensive extras they neither need nor fully consent to is unacceptable. They have permanently lost both of our business. Seniors and caregivers: ALWAYS ask for the total price upfront and specifically say "no extras or products." I'd hate for another elderly person to be taken advantage of the way my mom was.

I felt like when i spoke my mind about MY hair and the service i was judged and then rushed out of the salon so other clients wouldn't hear. Some places you go refuse to do what you ask, and I get it, stylist don't have magic wands yall... but Joy seems to have a magical touch! I went to Zenia after having a horrible experience at my usual salon in Round Rock. It was a last…read moreminute appointment, desparately booked the night earlier. Not ony did Zenia welcome me warmly, and patiently listen to my rambling about the cut, she validated my upset and walked me through the issues and how she was going to fix it. Her confidence made me immediately feel at ease! Zenia was honest in how much she could fix the first visit and we came up with a game plan to correct some areas over the next few visits once my hair grew out a bit more. After the first visit, I was sold. Zenia even taught me how to style my bangs at home! I received so many compliments on my haircut. I had my second cut with her a few weeks ago and my hair just keeps getting better! The salon is cute, well-organized and has a chill vibe!
