I don't use price as my final determination. I also checked his reviews and they were all excellent. Shane came over my house to give me an estimate and show me some carpet samples. He was very professional and polite. I chose my carpet, put down a deposit and Shane told me when he expected the carpet to come in. He did advise me that there might be a delay due to supply chain issues. While waiting for the carpet, Shane was easy to get a hold of and he was very communicative. The carpet came in when he thought it would and we scheduled the install. When Shane arrived to install the carpet he was very careful and meticulous. He put down clean gripping drop cloths wherever it was necessary while he worked. He made sure that his tools and carpet weren't in the way of foot traffic. Shane is a hard worker and you can see the pride he takes in his work. He completely moved our bedroom furniture, removed the old carpet and pad and installed the new carpet, and replaced our bedroom furniture, in one bedroom, in one day. He not only installed the new carpet but he fixed a squeak we had in the floors of both bedrooms. Shane made sure we were happy with the furniture placement and was very careful moving it. The next day, Shane removed the furniture, removed the old carpet, installed the new carpet and replaced the furniture in our smaller bedroom/office, in a half a day. The products Shane uses are top of the line, unlike Home Depot and he goes above and beyond when installing the carpet. Shane is professional and trustworthy and does incredible work, you won't be disappointed.

They started the project within 2-weeks of the estimate and were done in less that 1 week. They also helped us find exactly the right stains to match different types of wood, lighting conditions and paint colors. Their custom stains are fantastic. Leo and Miguel are true craftsmen. Their work was very detailed and the final result was fabulous. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Look no further.

How much damage and to what? The stairs were especially hard hit. Dark stain on our white baseboards and stair risers. Chips that need to be filled in and repainted. Repairs that are going to take days. Could the damage have be prevented? You bet it could have. In talking to Rob just now it was as if I was talking to a completely different person than the Rob that came out and "sold" the job. Was the work to the floors wonderful? Yes. Could the damage to the woodwork have been prevented? Yes. Did Rob listen to my suggestions about how to lessen or prevent the damage in the future? No. Did Rob offer to help repair the damage? No. Am I interested in referring Rob and Company? sadly, I can't - in light of Rob's highly argumentative behavior and unwillingness to see things from his customer's (me) perspective, I cannot give a thumbs up. Sorry, Rob, You can and must do better.

No doubt, Carl's Carpet One has one hell of a selection of flooring options, and the feel-good…read morebenefit of working with a local business. Arranging a quote is very straight forward, and their prices are certainly better than what you'll find if you were to work with a larger commercial flooring company like Home Depot, Empire or Lowes. However, with that potential discount comes a trade-off in quality of service. We had a carpet install job last year that went well enough, but the guys on the job managed to spill a can of black paint on carpet in a room that was not part of the job. No one admitted to the mistake, and actually seemed to suggest that it was just "like that" while they were there. To their credit, the foreman on call contracted a carpet cleaner who spent the better part of the day trying to clean up the paint. Needless to say, we have a nice black shadow on our carpet now, though I appreciated their attempts at cleaning up the accident. There was also a questionable carpet seam that was left, which also stands to this day. Generally, when you're seaming two separate sections of carpet between rooms, you line up the seam in the doorway - and more specifically, directly underneath the door - so that the transition seam is not visible while the door is shut. Apparently, because we didn't specifically point this out, they seamed the carpet about an inch outside of the doorway. Which looks great. Another issue we had with the install, is the excessive amount of carpet tacking that pokes through the carpet along the edges, and on the stairs. These are small nails that can puncture the flesh on your feet, and we experience this quite often. I mentioned this to the manager, and he politely explained that you just have to pound the nails down with a hammer. To their credit, he did make a trip out to follow up on this complaint, but I would expect the job to be done right the first time. You shouldn't have to walk on nails after a carpet install. The crew was nice enough, and the overall service experience was acceptable. They're very nice people, and despite my uninspired review, I would probably work with them again after highlighting my displeasure with past experiences.
