Came in the next day. They were open on a Tuesday.. she had never called me back or responded to my voicemail. Showed up and nobody was at the front and I had to ring the bell multiple times to get someone to come out. She came out and I reminded her of my voicemail and she said yes that she listened to it, but didn't reply as she didn't have time. I said OK... and asked her if she would be able to do what I requested over the phone. A simple hem Job on a two layered bridesmaids dress, nothing crazy. She looked at the dress and said no it is three layers. It will take too much effort/time. I showed her that it was two layers and not three and she said oh well two layers is still too much time, can't do it. I needed it done in five days which was not crazy for a rush job and was willing to pay a fee to get it done in that amount of time. She basically just shooed me away and said no. I immediately went downtown after calling "taylor chic" on morrison and they got me in, fitted the dress within the hour and were able to get it hemmed in only three days for my wedding at a very low cost. Go there instead. very kind and shop was much nicer and cleaner too, broadway was a mess.

Abraham's Fabric Clinic - Didn't even try to make this wearable

I got a bridesmaid dress tailored here at Sunny's Sewing Studio and it turned out great. I needed…read moreto get the bottom hemmed because it was too long. There were three layers to this dress so I feel like it was not a simple task. She had me try on the dress so she could get an exact measurement. Fast turn around time. Very nice!

The seamstress here does a horrific job. She is either highly inexperienced/unskilled or does not…read morecare about the quality of her work. I brought in three tank bras and a brand new silk dress to have the straps shortened. She completely butchered my silk dress (which was not cheap). It's asymmetrical now, with a crooked hem, and lies funny (there's a hump on my upper back). She cut the straps (but not in a symmetrical way) and simply brought the back up higher, so the crooked hem lies awkwardly high on my neck). You can see that she sewed the hem a couple of times and had to take stitching out and redo it, so there are holes in random places in the areas she was working on. Yes, the fabric is probably really difficult to sew, but she could have told me she was not able to do it. Instead she did a botch job, and it's unwearable. As for the bras, she simply sewed a hem across and left the bulky remains, so they are unwearable. When I picked up the items, she said it was too thick to sew down. She did try to sew down the bulk on one but didn't even try for the others. All of them are unwearable, though, because the bulk should have been cut off (would have taken two minutes to do it that way). An inexperienced seamstress would have known how to solve this problem. She must get lots of complaints because she makes you pay for her services up front. I just walked out the door and didn't check her work until I got home, so I had no chance to ask her to fix it. Of course, I'm never going back. Don't bring anything here that you care about. It's not worth it, she'll only make the clothing even more unwearable. She probably expects you to complain and won't do a good job until you ask her to. Don't waste your time.
