Did not appear passionate about technique, did not check in, could tell he was simply going through the motion running out the clock as I felt I was inconveniencing him for taking his time. Ignored feet, hips, hamstrings, quads, glutes which were priority areas as I am an active lifter / cross fit lifestyle & was communicated. This person was high af and kept stopping altogether with the massage. For a while, he just tapped me lightly with an Amazon massage gun. When I asked if that was the whole massage he said no but stopped. The ACTUAL hand massage was sporadic. At times it was too abrasive and other times the massage was uncomfortably slow. Once I realized something was wrong, I panicked. I told him to leave after he kept saying he didn't fall asleep on me. I realized my glasses were across the room and I felt exposed. My bf booked me a 90 min Swedish massage with Brian and it was definitely one of the best massages I've had. For COVID protocols, masks are worn. Your temperature is taken and you are asked to wash your hands when you walk in. As for the massage, Brian was working on the superficial knots I have, even uncovering deep muscle ones while keeping the massage very relaxing. I've only gone here once, but will go again. Came because I had severe back pain that limited my range of motion for at least one month. I received the most painful deep tissue massage in my life, and was not happy about how sore I was for the next several days. I actually thought he made things worse. But 4 days later, all pain was gone. Completely gone. It's been over a month and still pain free, with all range of motion back. I also do yoga to maintain my flexibility, but I've got to give credit where it's due. That massage was magic. I received an in home massage from Brian (before Covid). He arrived promptly & was very professional. I asked for a deep-ish (deep tissue with a little Swedish) & did he deliver. I admit, I can be really picky when it comes to my massages. I need all of the kinks gone but I also want to feel somewhat relaxed. Brian's techniques were spot on & helped me to find relief. I think I even fell asleep on the table at one point (yes, asleep during a deep tissue massage!) It was great. It's rare to have experiences that meet the needs of your mind, total body, and soul I scheduled A Swedish Massage with Brian- he was out of this world he worked on all my problem areas he was very knowledgeable, asked thoughtful questions, and explained everything thoroughly. Brian had an incredible energy and was very caring he wasn't afraid to tackle the tension in my lower back and shoulders (it's pretty bad, yall do to a bad car accident). So, I haven't had a massage since pre-covid. I currently work in the ER and I am on my feet 10-16 hours on the days that I do work. I booked with Brian based on reviews and recommendations from a few people who have booked with him. He focused on my problems areas accurately and applied the appropriate amount of pressure for each area. I did not realize how much tension I had in some of my muscles. My body feels completely different. He is very professional and communication was prompt. Overall, I feel relaxed and less tense. Massages are hit and miss, and I leave unsatisfied approximately 90% of the time I go for massages. It feels like no one knows how to work out knots, only how to rub the skin, which is relaxing, but not helpful for tense muscles. Brain did such a wonderful job at aggressively massaging out the tight knots that are hard to reach under my shoulder blades. I am sore today, which I've never been after a massage. After reading the other reviews, I was really looking forward to my massage. I had gotten a great deal on Groupon. I had to reschedule my original appointment, which the gentleman on the phone was very accommodating and helpful in doing so. Unfortunately, when I showed up on the day we rescheduled for, the doors were locked and nobody answered the phone. I understand mistakes happen and also understand that we are living in uncertain times, so I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. However, communication is key and would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, I was not given that courtesy and this is the reason for the review. I like that his style is customizable and he will ask if there are spots that you want to focus on or avoid and whether you like light/medium/firm pressure.
