The staff is really friendly. I always like talking to the owner when sitting at the club house. He always has some stories to tell. You can't bring coolers, but they have plenty of coolers that you can fill up with beer and soda. I'm excited that they now have Spotted Cow in a can! It's rarely busy here, which is nice if you are newer and don't like being rushed by other golfers. There's a good number of Par 3 holes that are not too difficult. The rest of the holes are over 300 yards and are good for getting out your driver and swinging the crap out of that ball. The greens though can be tricky....hills...THOSE DAMN HILLS! I always enjoy playing on this course and will keep coming for years to come.

Unfortunately, for us, it rained and the tourney was cancelled. You would expect to receive a full refund for something like that or at least an entry into the second tourney like this later in the summer. Not here! We got a lousy $40 voucher, not sure how the owner Nick Stephens came up with that number, to be used at the course. Which is not real great for the guys coming in from out of the area. So he made roughly $2000 for not having the tourney, nice payday for doing nothing! In the accompanying letter with the vouchers he said there are "risks\costs" with something like this that we are apparently responsible for, not him. I imagine this guy prays for rain before every tournament...

Overall the course is laid out well and the front nine is the most scenic. The view from #7 tee is breathtaking! Prices are reasonable and their spring rates are fantastic! A few holes go right along the state park. The back 9 is much more open. Drainage was an issue last year and it always seemed like after it rained it took forever for the course to dry out. Fairways are very bumpy and uneven. Whoever selects pin placements should be fired. This isn't a mini golf course where you score points for "most difficult shots". There were several times where the pin was literally on the side of a slope on the green, one time less than 3 feet from the fringe on a rather large green. A couple years ago the place was pretty rough but new owners have been making improvements. I believe a couple new tees are being added to change it up.

Few reviews I've written will ever matter less, and for good reason…read more Tucked away in the middle of nowhere (my opinion) near where some in-laws live south of Green Bay is a golf course out in the country with barely a sign pointing its way. Six inches of snow cover the course and I don't golf, so that's not the point of the review. It's the bar, restaurant on a Friday night that brought me here and the custom of folks in this parts of the country digging a "Friday night fish fry." Sure, the fish probably hasn't been local for 30 years or more and likely comes off the Sysco truck, but what a feast places like this put on. We arrive around 7:30 p.m. and the place is absolutely jam packed with locals. Liquor is flying off the bar and down the gullets of diners like it's never to be served again. Hour wait. No problem, there's a bar. At 8:30 p.m. our plates arrive. And as expected, everything on the table is the same color--light brown and golden, except for the ketchup and a few flecks in the cole slaw. Deep fat fry heaven, we're having perch, and it's fine. Not overly breaded, not over salted or seasoned otherwise. Just fine, and enough we can finish. The fries don't taste like they were fried in the same oil as the fish and vice versa, something not all places can claim. The fries were sour cream, identically colored to the fish. With a few beers, went down fine, though well drinks seem to be the drink of preference here. Yelp could matter less here, and I'm totally OK with that. There is a lot of competition of this nature in this part of the country so you don't get a crowd like this without everything clicking. These folks probably served several hundred, and it went off like clock-work. Good service, friendly, fast and decent food. Not my kind of meal particularly, but love the experience. When in Rome... I experienced something dining here few will, a little slice of rural Wisconsin the way they celebrate the week, and I can say for certain these folks do not mess around.
