The staff is really friendly. I always like talking to the owner when sitting at the club house. He always has some stories to tell. You can't bring coolers, but they have plenty of coolers that you can fill up with beer and soda. I'm excited that they now have Spotted Cow in a can! It's rarely busy here, which is nice if you are newer and don't like being rushed by other golfers. There's a good number of Par 3 holes that are not too difficult. The rest of the holes are over 300 yards and are good for getting out your driver and swinging the crap out of that ball. The greens though can be tricky....hills...THOSE DAMN HILLS! I always enjoy playing on this course and will keep coming for years to come.

High cliff has been a staple of the fox valley for awhile. It's a nice layout close to lake…read moreWinnebago. The front 9 is pretty tight and requires you to keep it in the fairway. A few holes go right along the state park. The back 9 is much more open. Drainage was an issue last year and it always seemed like after it rained it took forever for the course to dry out. Fairways are very bumpy and uneven. Whoever selects pin placements should be fired. This isn't a mini golf course where you score points for "most difficult shots". There were several times where the pin was literally on the side of a slope on the green, one time less than 3 feet from the fringe on a rather large green. A couple years ago the place was pretty rough but new owners have been making improvements. I believe a couple new tees are being added to change it up.

Husband & I ordered 2 doubles & asked bartender for menus. She said "oh the hostess can take care of that". She asked if we were ok with a pub table in the bar area... "sure, no problem", we sat, she gave us our menus. We sat, and sat and sat and sat... finished our drinks... now that was at least 20 minutes to 30 minutes. NOT ONE waitress stopped at our table, or said "I will be right with you"... I was even holding up the Friday night menu... & one waitress looked right at me!! Meanwhile, 2 other waitress were standing next to the kitchen door chatting. We got up, my husband put our empty glasses on the bar...bartender said "thank you" & my husband replied "yea, and thanks for taking our order!" Unfortunately, for us, it rained and the tourney was cancelled. You would expect to receive a full refund for something like that or at least an entry into the second tourney like this later in the summer. Not here! We got a lousy $40 voucher, not sure how the owner Nick Stephens came up with that number, to be used at the course. Which is not real great for the guys coming in from out of the area. So he made roughly $2000 for not having the tourney, nice payday for doing nothing! In the accompanying letter with the vouchers he said there are "risks\costs" with something like this that we are apparently responsible for, not him. I imagine this guy prays for rain before every tournament...

Mike, Dave and Chef Eric were a pleasure to work with and really took care of us. I can't say enough about their professionalism, dedication to us and helpfulness. The service on the day of the event was above and beyond what we expected. The food was superb. They worked well with our other vendors and made sure that things went smoothly throughout the night. Separately, I've golfed here too! Fantastic, challenging course that is one of the best in the area. Members-only, though.

It was landscaped really nicely, and the greens and course were in near perfect condition. They even had courtesy flip-flops for those who were wearing heels (no heels allowed on course). It also had a darling little ice cream shop attached. In fact, the whole area/property was incredible. I don't know if it is considered part the hotel that's there, but it had a playground, giant checker boards, giant connect four game, mini basketball court, bag games, two pickle ball courts, a volley ball court and one of those giant Adirondack chairs.
