Do not order online from them. Royal Robbins is incapable of accurately and timely shipping orders. Nor are they capable of communicating with a customer, or solving the company's straightforward business mistake. It's been one month, no garment rec'd. They shipped it to the wrong address (PO verified). It is nearly impossible to contact them, or get them to respond. They said they'd re-ship. Another 2 weeks passes, still no garment, and no tracking info. I messaged them 5 days ago, and no response from customer service. Their 1st email response assigned a case number, advising to use that # for subsequent contacts re: the matter. I used their link and #....and their system generated yet another case number?!? Subsequent attempted phone calls were dropped. Omg. This is a poorly run business, in the extreme. It is not competent, and they will make you pay the price for that. And the clothes are really expensive. There is no value here at all. read more

Poor customer service. They do not accommodate face shields for those with medical conditions despite the sign saying that face coverings were allowed and not even required for those with medical conditions. The sign is misleading. I believe I was lied to by the manager. I contacted corporate through the website that didn't seem to have a problem with it but said they don't dictate policy at that level. I was supposed to be contacted by someone more local, but they never even had the courtesy to call me...I think it's been 3 weeks...and that's only because I frequently tried to make contact and follow up. So very poor customer service and communication. read more

Royal Robbins is a very clean and well organized store. The clothes are not really my style, but I won't take away stars for that. It is impossible to cater to everyone. I'm giving them high marks though because of the friendly sales staff AND they carry Sigg water bottles! Yippee! It is soo difficult to find places that carry not only the Sigg brand, but also a good selection. I purchased a cute .6 liter size bottle with a sports top, perf for working out. If you know me, you know I have an extensive background in customer service. I have been recognized and awarded for my customer service skills. So it really, really, REALLY bothers me when I go to a store- especially a store that I have every intention of purchasing from- and receive terrible customer service. A half-hearted hi and then being ignored for 10 minutes while you loudly gossip with your coworker, especially while being the ONLY customers in the entire store, is so frustrating and absolutely unprofessional. And then, because of today's climate- you have to ask yourself, is it me? Is it because I'm brown? Do I just not look like their regular clientele? Are they being snobby and think I won't buy anything? Do they think I want to be left alone? But eff that. I am a person, entering your business- you are supposed to greet me, ask if I need help or have any questions, do your freaking job. If I just wanted to browse, I would have said that. Maybe my bar is too high for what I consider "good customer service" but I'm just astounded by how we were just treated at the Royal Robbins store in McHenry Village. Before we left, I told the two women there that I was upset by their lack of customer service, they tried to argue that they did say hi when they were checking someone out as we walked in, and when I asked where they were for the 10 minutes after the other customers left, I was replied with silence. Very helpful. Large selection of clothing. My husband loves your cool and breathable hiking shirts he has about 15 in his closet! He would wear them to work if he could......lolol.. I am impressed with your selection of great hiking and water shoes... I need to come in and purchase myself a good pair! We only come during your sales--but leave with bag fulls fo clothes for my husband..... he goes crazy. I recently visited your Royal Robbins' store wearing a face covering. Within a few minutes of browsing, a woman came up to me with a disposable surgical mask (PPE) in hand, indicating I needed to replace what I was wearing with what she insisted I use instead. I explained I suffered from vertigo and dizziness, and that she would have to call 911 if I go down. Indeed, wearing a plastic face shield covering my nose and mouth allows me to better breathe without excessive Co2 causing symptoms. No matter to her, I needed to use a disposable surgical mask (PPE) to remain in the store. I told her I would go elsewhere, and did. I happily purchased items nearby; and there was no authoritative, undignified confrontation in the middle of the store by an uppity someone half my age. It shouldn't take a genius to figure out where I'll be shopping in the future and where I won't. read more

I am a longtime customer at the Royal Robbins store. I have always loved their Billy Goat shorts, their hiking pants, tee-shirts and the woven belts (that they used to carry). My husband and I first started shopping at Royal Robbins back in the early 1970s when they were in their original location. And over the years we always went to their fantastic warehouse sales, coming home with bags and bags of great deals! But this review today is about my most recent visits, which were yesterday and today. What a great time my friends and I had shopping at Royal Robbins! They've had a really great sale going on for a few days, where on certain racks, the clothes were only $10.00 each! Needless to say, I found many cute things that fit great! I went back today and purchased a few more items and found some really nice pants that were highly reduced. One pair was 70% off! Donna and Rachael were awesome and were so helpful to each of us. My friends and I had so much fun chatting with them while we were shopping and at the checkout counter. What a fun day. I know I can speak, not only for myself, but for my friends as well, that we will be back soon, looking for more good deals! read more

Such an amazing store here in Modesto. I have shopped here so many times over the years. The staff has ALWAYS treated me like family. I bought all of my hiking clothes here including shoes. I have purchased many shoes for my Mom and Girlfriend as they have a great selection of comfortable dressy shoes from Jambu, Keen and Teva. When I am looking for a gift for an active friend I come to Royal Robbins. Thanks and great job guys! read more

Walked into this store just to look around while waiting for my yoga class to begin. They have some very nice sports clothing in there. The prices are no worse or better than any other place. The thing I liked about it was that they have the Sigg water bottles there. They have a very large selection of them. I had looked in several sporting stores and they didn't have them. So, was glad to find a place that kept them in stock along with all the accessories you need. read more

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE!!!! So I got a gifts from my husband from this store. He spent around $500. One of items he got me was defective, the button was broken and it also was to small so I took it back. I had a gift receipt and they did not give me my money back and issued a store credit. So I'm the meant time I got pregnant and I didn't think of going back So to the fact I was not sure what size clothing I would wear after my pregnancy. I went into the store this week to use my store credit of $73.19 and got to the register and the sales girls told me my store credit was expired. I say what you're kidding. They said no, sorry we are not. Store credits are only good for a year. I was shocked because this is against the law to take people's money since it was a gift and has paid to them already. They did not do anything for me and told me that I was out the money which is legal. So they lost an additional sale that day because I was going to buy more clothing there as well. I will make sure I tell anyone that is looking for a clothing/outdoor clothing store do not go there. I will be reporting them because they are not practicing the Ca law regarding gift card credits/store credits. Never again and thank you for taking the food from my kids mouth. read more

Wow must say the store manager I think her name is Jennifer is completely rude and disrespectful. She is the perfect example of a poor manager. I was there once and witnessed her verbally abusing her employees. Jennifer is rude, obnoxious and very unprofessional. Not sure how anyone can allow a person like her to manage their business. To bad I can't give her no stars because that's what she deserves. If Royal Robbins was still alive, I'm sure he would certainly agree with her not being the best for the job and giving the company a bad image. read more
