I recently moved into R5 about a month ago and have genuinely enjoyed my experience! I used to rehearse at their studio in DTLA and enjoy the fact that they are both 24-7 and have the ability to go in and rehearse whatever time it may be. The building itself is surrounded by other local businesses as well as local homes. So far I haven't had any problems with any of the neighbors and usually stop playing music around 11pm. I'm towards the center of the building and I'm glad we haven't heard any complaints! However it might be something to be aware of if you're looking for a room towards the back of the studio and what time you plan on playing. I have seen a number of rooms in different sizes available and I hear different people playing from producers to percussion driven bands so the variety is there! The management is very accommodating and have been very helpful in so many ways. The place is usually kept pretty clean and well taken care of. There have been a few issues with the toilets and the AC but they always seem to be taken care of pretty quickly. They just opened recently too so it seems like they're just getting all the details together. The place itself feels safe and secure plus everyone seems really easy to get along with. I'm really happy with the room I got with my bandmates! While the rooms aren't fully soundproof, It hasn't been an issue so far because of everyone else's schedule and the placement of musicians. Should anything change I'll update my post but for now it's simply something else to be aware of. I do enjoy the sound of our room! They also have their own parking lot and gate. They do ask you to pay for an electronic switch but you can park in the nearby streets as well. If you want the added security of parking inside that's there and you can always open it from inside if you need to pick up a load of equipment. All in all, I've really enjoyed rehearsing at Royal Rehearsal and find the convenience very appealing. They treat me very well and provide a great space to come and play music! They have mentioned adding a few different things to the studio so I'll be looking forward to that soon. Till then, here's to playing even more music! read more

I moved into Royal Rehearsal about 3 months ago and have had an excellent experience so far. Management is very responsive and helpful and made sure I had everything I needed to move in. The building is very secure with lots of cameras and keypads for all the doors. Easy and secure parking. My room is excellent--spacious, bright and clean. I've rented rooms in several rehearsal studios in both LA and NYC and this one is the best I've found. There are producers, bands, and individual musicians in the building. I've just started renting out a lockout rehearsal space at this location, the application and agreement process took about a week, but the staff and management were extremely attentive and helpful throughout the entire process. I was able to visit the studio beforehand, meet the staff and see the entire facility along with multiple rooms available for rent. Royal Rehearsal offers very fair prices for 24-hour lockout studios with a secured parking lot and plenty of street parking in a safe neighborhood. Lots of amenities, food, and grocery stores are available right across the street. read more

The staff at Royal could not be more friendly and helpful. They made the leasing process super easy. The space I rented is clean and secure, and perfect for what I need. The building itself -- parking, interior and exterior doors, etc. -- are secure and easy to access. I started my lease at Royal earlier this month. My main goal is to use the space for intimate vocal and acoustic recording I can't do at home. For the most part, the space is conducive to this goal. During busy times it is definitely too noisy to record, but there is plenty of quiet time too, which makes the space very useful. Two downsides are that they currently have a problem with smoking indoors and most of the people I've met there don't seem to be taking the pandemic very seriously. 99% of the people I've met don't wear masks in the common spaces and it seems like there are guests who are only there to "hang out." When I leave, my clothes often smell like smoke. The management should formally enforce the smoking, guest, and social distancing policies. One evening I had to cut my recording session short because of a fire alarm. It was set off because too many people were smoking in their rehearsal spaces. read more
