Studio time is the best time and always a great time to have fun play things loud and straight up just chill! Coming here I was like it's another lockout but this one has always been a fun one as it's full of rooms so a few different bands can do their thing at a time. Super awesome establishment here always a good time jamming out and doing what is good hopefully again sometime soon :) They also have a parking lot in the back so don't forget to take advantage of that as it's better than the street parking. Overall chill studio good rates and it's downtown you really can't go wrong with that said I'm sure I'll be back here again at some point! read more

Satellite Studios is a pretty cool place to rehearse. If you are looking for laid back, no 'tude management then you've found your heaven. I rehearsed here a few times with a four piece band a few months back for the Lummis Day Festival. The first rehearsal was in a tiny room, clearly one of the less expensive ones. They have a P.A. in place and even a mixing board. The trick to rehearsing in the small room is to play quietly something the band I was in DIDN'T know how to do. Next rehearsal was in a large space. The walls were painted cool colors and it even had it's own bathroom. It was much cooler, relaxed, and spacious. Note to Drummers: Guitarists please ignore: They have drums set up in each rehearsal room which is great for guys like us who don't particularly relish the idea of heaving those things from place to place. All I needed to bring were cymbals, sticks, bass pedal, and a high hat clutch. If you forget your clutch like I did they have a bunch in drawer up front that they'll trade you for your keys. Hey, serves your ass right for getting sloppy fellow drummers! They have a fridge and a mediocre pool table in the back. They have a great "trust system" in place for snacks. By the fridge there is a table with snacks, candy bars, chips, crackers. In the ice box you will find soda and BEER. Next to the snacks there is a tray with lots of change and a few dollar bills on it and nobody watching. People with lesser ethics might be tempted to grab a few beers, a few bucks, and a few baby ruths. The great part is that no one does. You pay what you think is right, make your own change, and take what you like. You will find lots of posters, handbills, hanging cymbals and guitars decorating the black walls. Another plus, the place isn't smelly and just passes into clean. There is a guy playing an endless video game at the front desk to greet you. He'll put down his machine gun to take your money or answer your question. They have a small lot which I was always lucky with except for once and then I found a spot right in front on the street. Bottom Line: Totally acceptable place to rehearse with larger rooms being the way to go. Leave your drums at home. And leave room for a beer and some chips. This is a great place to practice if your band is balling on a budget. We pay $32 for 2-3 hours (can't remember). They provide everything. Marshall half stacks and heads for guitars and ampeg stacks for bass. Decent drum sets are provided, and I suggest bringing your own cymbals. There is a 16+ track PA in the bigger rooms, and they are open til 1AM. If you have a band sticker, you can stick it on their door. Happy jamming! read more

This is a pretty basic rehearsal space. You get a room, you get some mic's. You get a functional backline... all of that is great, but that's what you'd expect. The location is ideal, being close to downtown L.A., Los Feliz, Silverlake and right off the 5. I think they'd have more business if they'd just clean the place up a bit. I love this place. The guys that own this spot are super down to earth, and are always down to accommodate us. The rooms are reasonably priced and spacious. The back line that's offered is solid. Did I mention these guys are super nice? Probably my favorite thing about this spot is the food. YUP. They have their own cook in front that prepares gourmet street inspired food. Tacos and sliders all day! This is my go to spot with my band. Make sure you book in advance, especially if you're looking at a prime time spot (6p-10p). read more

This is a good rehearsal studio, and convenient to where I live. Exposition studios is much nicer in almost every way, but Soundbite has a lot of potential. It has the typical pros and cons of a rehearsal space. Pros: off-street parking; reasonable prices; good amps and drum kits; a variety of rooms. Cons: sound in PA system & monitors is really bad; the place is very unfinished, full of bare drywall & studs; the place is not pretty; all the doors are blank -- rooms need numbers or letters or names or shapes or pictures (something to indicate which room). I alike this place and would give it four or better stars, except that the sound is always a mess, and they don't seem to have any staff that knows how to run the PA system -- or at least I have never seen anyone come in to pull up a basic mix. It also seems to be still under construction, with a lot of stuff lying around, unpainted drywall, etc. Once they finish building the place, and if they can bring someone in who can dial in the rooms a bit better and set up a decent live PA mix, it would be great! _______ Update: the owner messaged me, addressing everything I said in the above review. He clearly cares, and for that alone I reconsider my original review. The work is in progress -- I was there recently and actually saw people working on the under construction area. I do like the place, and didn't mean to be harsh -- it was a "strong 3" to begin with. Keep improving, and keep up the good work guys. read more

Held an art show in the lovely chapel room here at Soundbite Studios. It was an awesome space with a great stained glass ceiling. We also had access to the outdoor patio which opens up from the room. The people in charge were very flexible about us moving stuff around to make the room work best for us. We were able to host a large number of people (I believe around 60-70) and bring our own food and drinks. It was a great space to work with... and we even got to play with the awesome pool and foosball tables they have. We had a very successful opening night and would really recommend them for your party rental needs. read more

Soundbite is an amazing studio with helpful staff. On weekends, it's $16/hour. Each room comes equipped with a bass amp, a guitar amp, a drum (minus kick, pedal, snare, cymbals), and a soundboard. As a drummer I look at the little things like decent stands, the heads on the drums are always in good shape. Of course there not dws but they do the job. This is an honest to goodness review from the aesthetic perspective and will subsequently add another star once I try the place out for myself. The location geographically is perfect if you think about it because you aren't too far from anywhere actually. Like someone mentioned you aren't too far from Silverlake, Echo Park, DTLA, or Hollywood.. I have seen plenty of underground to main stream shows in my day and I know a couple of people who have to reserve a spot to practice in really shitty places and paid an arm and a leg to just PRACTICE! c'mon these are people who are either struggling musicians or just do music as a hobby they aren't Billy Corgan! Well I would think Billy Corgan will have his own sound studio himself. Sorry for going off on a tangent... Now where was i... These guys have a nice set up and I particularly have gotten to know a couple cats who work here. Btw they also hold events for their own underprivileged charity at this location once in a while. So you have a great affordable space to fine tune your music at with an owner with a heart of gold. Did I mention it's not too far from Hollywood? You can't write this kind of script! As I mentioned this is a review from an outsider point of view and I will subsequently either increase or decrease a star in all honesty once I have rehearsed or stayed at this spot longer. been rehearsing pretty regularly @ satellite for about 7 months (band's been going there since well before i was in) and i love it. i live in los feliz, so it's only about a 5-10min drive (depending on traffic) and even if the relatively large parking lot is full, there's always tons of street parking right outside. we usually rehearse in the smallish red room - though we've been in everyone, that one's definitely our favorite. unlike some of the other spots i've rehearsed in LA - the staff are super chill dudes that are helpful when you need them and otherwise leave you alone. (a couple i've been to - the staff were either friendly to the point of being annoying or total dickheads.) guitar and bass backline gear is pretty solid, PA's work as they should ... the drums leave a bit to be desired, but fuck it - they're backline drums. i don't expect a DW collector's kit in there that'd just get torn up by disrespectful assholes anyway. overall, this is my favorite rehearsal spot i've been to in LA. i'll keep going back! read more

If you gotta rehearse, well you gotta rehearse late! It's inexpensive if you've got several band members. My only gripe is that sometimes they don't enforce their time limits enough. They'll let other bands hand out for an extra 10-15 minutes and then tell you your time is up right on the dot! But it's a laid back atmosphere. The larger room has the best equipment. The marshal stacks in the other rooms aren't that good. read more

Satellite Rehearsal Studio in Silverlake was a great experience. THE RATES ARE THE BEST IN LA! The rooms sound fantastic, the owners are some cool dudes and are at arms reach and there if you have any problems or concerns. The gear is always in great condition considering it has been used quite a bit over the years. They have a great guitar tech on staff that can fix anything from a simple solder on the input to a busted head stock. We need lots of mics and they give us whatever we need and help set it up. If something doesn't work they fix or replace right away. Clean, comfortable and well priced. It's the only rehearsal space I've needed to try in Silverlake. If Luis is on duty he'll already have the four vocal mics and DI set up for my band, and if you arrive early or run a few minutes late they're not banging on the door or looking to charge you extra. Not that we try to abuse this grace. It's a good service at a good rate and the fact that I've never had to go searching for an alternative speaks volumes in itself. This is an excellent rehearsal and recording studio it does not have professional digital recording in house but you can bring your own. Very nice Studios excellent soundproofing great quality Equipment available for loan the price is absolutely unbeatable and they also do videos and other photo shoots as well as private events whatever you wish to do with your group. I love this studio it is in a great location with excellent security and very professional staff. I would highly recommend the studio to any working musician needing a rehearsal space. Like I said before if you do not have your own equipment they have very good quality Equipment available as well as other necessities such as strings and sticks along with much more. The workers are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate every little need. They keep it very clean and organized. Been jammin and playing in bands for over 20 years and have been to several rehearsal spaces, this one is probably one of the coolest and best. The location is perfect for me, right off the freeway and the place itself has a cool ambiance and set up. The only thing i would say could be better-and this is pretty much true for all rehearsal places- is that the drum kit was not very good. I'm a drummer and i normally take my own drums, but on certain occasions i use the "house kit" and they usually suck. although -i must say- the sound wasn't complete crap like other places. I booked a three hour slot with a buddy of mine and we had a great time. We'll be booking again soon and making this our go-to spot to revive our old songs from 20 years ago! Thanks! read more

Over priced worst gear I've played in all LA if you're a drummer stay away from this place like the plague unless you like to bring your entire kit. The staff there is apathetic, gear there works 30% of the time. PA has non stop pops and clicks. Parking there is a mess. read more

I've rehearsed here a couple of times with my band & it was okay. I was torn between 3 & 4 stars because the biggest downfall was lack of insulation/sound proofing. Granted, you're in a studio with multiple rooms, you're bound to hear the other bands playing - but unless you're jammin' out LOUD, you're gonna hear ALL of the other bands wailing through the walls at 11. We were in one of the smaller back rooms, and it was kind of a mess. I don't expect to jam in the Ritz but I don't expect the previous band's lunch still on the ground, either. Positives: Very friendly & helpful staff - Our drummer was missing sticks and they hooked her up, as well as getting us a third amp & extra chairs. One of the amps was busted, though. A Marshall half-stack. HUGE common areas - the front office/lounge area has a bunch of couches with a t.v. and big mural. Enough room for a good amount of people and equipment. Also, the back area is huge and looks like a chapel area. I hear they have art shows back there, but when i went it was just outfitted with more couches and microwaves! lol.
