Dave is a lifelong music maker and it's obvious. It's obvious by his (very hand-picked and constantly-evolving) collection of outboard gear and vintage microphones, by his scarily-sharp ear (can pinpoint problem frequency in kick drum from two football fields), and by his humble, head-down attitude towards music. I've been in and out of studios since my first summer cable-wrapping internship at Studio West in high school (2008)--from beachy San-Diego home studios to SF bay middle-of-the-roaders to Stephen Still's home-studio and Dave Aron's (Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, Prince) platinum-lined monster--and I go to Dave. After leaving, I was repeatedly asked to rebook, instead of being asked how the session went. Bad vibes kill creativity. I would never go back. UPDATED Feb 1-11:24pm After leaving this review, the owner Elliot messaged me AGAIN on Instagram. Took zero accountability and only cares about his image. NOT the client. To address your comment, I asked for a discount, cuz your interns run the session. As Indie artists we have to fight to protect a space we paid for. Music has always been there for me through many difficult parts of my life, but I've always felt like there was this gap between music and I that I could never close. I never felt like I had any talent to immerse myself, or further myself in it. Always just singing to myself, or when I'm alone, because that's the only time I have the courage to explore my voice. I have to say I've never felt this great singing before and it's only been four lessons. This year for me is big on self investment and rediscovering myself and where my interests/passion lies. You've gotta take some risks in life sometimes and taking a chance on vocal lessons with you has been by far one of the best decisions I've made in a while!. I have been recording in…read morestudios for more than 26 years; from the early 90s - in Africa, Europe and some of the top studios here in the U.S frequented by both greats and relevant Artists, so I have worked with different engineers and producers over 5 record albums. Ron plays multiple instruments and also has access to talented instrumentalists who will help any singer or musician accomplish their goals. His hourly or packaged rates for sessions are reasonable and yet he won't waste your time during the session. I want to finish recording my album and audio book projects with Ron before he gets swept up by major labels around the world to leverage his great talent. He continues to work with major labels and yet is available locally. He is tech savvy and knows how to use tomorrow's technology to produce main stream sound that will blow your mind. My favorite thing about working with Ron is that if you give him the free hand to influence your work, you will be amazed with the outcome.
