It comes deep dish and very expensive. After all it's pizza. Environment is plain and staff is rather drab. Major disappointment here. I was really looking for a decent meal. I went in for lunch and ordered the meat lovers calzone. It look great when it came out, but half way through I noticed the dough was not cooked all the way. Upon closer inspection, I found a large amount of the dough was not cooked. I started coming to Royal Pizza back in July and have become a regular customer ever since, visiting at least twice a week for their amazing pasta and pizzas! My regular server Dreana is simply the best and has become a good friend over these past few months as she is so warm, personable, friendly and attentive, always greeting me with her big, bright, welcoming smile as soon as I walk in! I especially love their Greek salad, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and salami pizza, rotating through these delicious, flavorful items on each visit... Major disappointment. Sauce definitely needs help. Sugar would help take the edge off the tomato paste bitterness. Some garlic and chili peppers would add some good flavor too. I am not just talking out of my ass here. I was a pizza chef for 5 years when I was younger. We hand tossed and made everything from scratch. Also 30 dollars is waaaaaaay too much for a 12' pizza. Atlas Pizza in Calgary charges that much for a 12" but the thing weighs about 2 pounds with tons of ingredients!!! read more

Our family of 6 all ordered different items and love them all. Pizza's, pasta and salad. I highly recommend the baked penne with red meat sauce. The Hawaiian pizza was good too!!! From the outside it doesn't look like much, but inside it's new and clean. Too bad we live 30 hours away or we would definitely be back!!! read more

Just received a pizza and starter salad. Salad was a joke. Just lettuce and nothing else. Container was less than a quarter of a head of lettuce and they charged us $9.95. Total joke. Would not order from them again. DL read more

Pizza is good and they have lots of other menu options. I find it to be on the expensive side for what you get though, so would choose other places over Royal for better value, especially if feeding a group. read more

Royal Pizza makes the best pizza in the city by far unless your looking for the fancy European pizza. And they have 20 oz pints of Original 16 for $5.50 on sale right now. There new location is quiet and clean. We had the royal special and it was great, they have perfected a crunchy crust. read more

In town from BC and was looking for a place to have dinner after an extremely busy day visiting clients. Went to Yelp for help as there are way too many restaurants to choose from. Service was excellent. The server was very attentive and helpful. Ordered a pizza and was not disappointed. Delicious golden crust, flavourful toppings and the right amount of cheese. You tell if a pizza is truly delicious when it has completely cooled down and the true flavours come out. Tempted by the leftovers I had a slice and it tasted even better. I have been facing a major crisis living in the Deep South of Edmonton of not being to find a pizza place that I can swoon over. My favourite joints are largely in the north side and the major chains (Pizza Hut, Panago) just does not do it for me. My colleagues highly recommended Royal Pizza, a chain that has been expanding all over the city. I was sceptical but I was intrigued. I gave it the old college try in a location on Elerslie. I ordered the meat lovers pizza. To me this is the litmus test that is either going to be an amazing celebration of a Carnivore's paradise, or a cheap presentation of chopped up bacon bits, ham, and meagre sprinkles of sausage on a soggy crust...To my delight, I was blown away by it. The meat was plentiful, the crust was chewy and delicious. The only knock was the complimentary Parmesan cheese was a gross, store bought granulated powder. Overall, I can now sigh in relief that I have an awesome pizza joint close to my place that I can embrace without having to compromise to some lame mega national pizza chain (papa John eek).. read more
