Really happy with our first visit to Royal Nails Salon in Menlo Park for our first Daddy-Daughter manicure [plus pedicure for me]. Dad & I both needed a refresh and we didn't have time to plan ahead. I called Royal Nails Salon and they were available & open later than other shops. Could we get there by 1700h? Even though we were a little late, owner Lisa and her colleague Linda still accommodated us & ended up staying later than their usual closing time. Lisa has been doing nails for 20+ years. She is also an insurance agent. 3 months ago Lisa and her husband opened their own business, Royal Nails Salon. Lets support our local small businesses! The front door of the salon is UNIT D, tucked away in a corridor of the other businesses at 681 Oak Grove Ave , Menlo Park, CA. You can enter from the Oak Grove Ave side but the free parking is around on the back side. So don't get lost. Dad had a male manicure clipping, filing, and buffing his fingernails. We added paraffin wax to help his hand condition. I chose a gel French tip manicure with glitter on my pinky nails and metallic blue toenails. The massages were relaxing and it was nice to relax and be pampered for a change. Look forward to returning and hopefully there are mimosas in our future. :-) read more

I came in after a horrific experience at another salon that left me with crooked nails and French tips. I messaged here on yelp and got a very well thought out response by Charles. I called the salon and Lisa told me to come in so she can give me an exact price on what I needed fixed and she was able to get me in after I got off work. When I came back, I was so warmly welcomed. They brought my boyfriend and I some hot water for tea, water and a tea cookie. I have never experienced such amazing hospitality at a nail salon ever. Lisa fixed my nails and they turned out so good! She took her time and made sure that they came out perfect. The salon itself was so cute, it is such a welcoming and relaxing place. I went to Royal Nails Salon for the first time today and it was fantastic! Very restful and calm interior with seats that are thrones! Lisa did a fantastic job on some problem toes due to bunion surgery and I left feeling that this was a talented and hard working nail artist! I will return even tho I live in Santa Cruz! Be sure to call ahead, the location is near the post office on Oak grove Ave in Menlo...really a great experience and different than regular nail salons. read more

I decided to search for a new nail salon and found Royal Nails Salon due to their good reviews. They recently opened and they're a great addition to Menlo Park. The quality of the manicure and pedicure was excellent, they were very friendly and I received an extended massage which was delightful. The price was comparable to other salons but I felt like I received a better service and value. read more

It's a weird setup. You sit on a throne and put your feet in a wine barrel. The water spout only has cold water but they bring an electric water pot and pour it in. They also add flowers and herbs for your foot soak which is nice. The pedicure was decent but it was the best foot massage I have ever received. I would skip the pedi and just get a message! read more

I was searching all through Yelp to find a new nail salon after my usual one changed ownership and wasn't the same. After many searches later I found Royal Nails Salon. It's a charming place tucked away with several other businesses but was very easy to find. I did come early afternoon so it was easy to find parking on the street. I was given a cookie and different choices of tea and Vietnamese coffee. That was a very nice touch! As shown in the pictures are a gel manicure and a gel pedicure. $45 for the gel manicure and $58 for the gel pedicure. It was a very relaxing experience. Worth the drive from the coast! read more

Quick response to Yelp messages but when speaking to the owner she couldn't say what types of pedicures were offered or prices over the phone but confirmed they take walk ins so I said I'd come by in the afternoon. Didn't get to try the salon later that day since they turned me away saying there was a customer running late en route. There were no other customers there at the time. Maybe part of new business growing pains but it's hard to get customers if you don't have clarity on services/pricing and turn away walk-ins when you say they're welcome. Also fyi, it's a small space tucked into an office complex with heavy chemical smell. They seemed nice enough but something gave me an off vibe (maybe from it being tucked away or no other customers there) so thankful in the end to be turned away since I found a great place a couple blocks away which was packed but took me right away. MY "Gel" POLISH TOES WERE MESSED UP AND MY NAIL CAME OFF IN LESS THAN 24 HRS‼ If you want a specific design done for your nails DO NOT come here. I asked for a medium square set with an airbrush design and left with long stiletto cat eye nails. Before she started on my nails she confirmed that she was able to do the design and then starts off by gluing stiletto tips. As she tries to cut them into a square shape, I would have been left with a short square set so I told her to just leave them as is because I did not want to go through the pain of removing the glued tips. (Gelx set) she then continues to give me a cat eye design that looks nothing like the picture. As she does my toes I ask for gel polish. She has me under the light for a while, while she is just on her phone. After my toes were done drying she said that they were fine and I was able to put my shoes on. When I'm getting ready to pay she says all these xtra fees and said my total was $150. Was NOT expecting to pay that much especially since I didn't get the design I asked for. I get to my car and the polish on my toes were completely ruined! Why would she put my nails under the UV light if it was regular polish????? And she told me it was gel! Then when I get home my pinky nail comes off by itself 4 HOURS LATER. I call the next day to ask for a refund and they only want to give me $40 back and I have to take off my nails. (Which I don't mind taking them off) So I basically paid $110 for a regular polish pedicure! As I'm asking for a refund the lady is yelling at me as if it's my fault. I totally understand that she should get some money for her labor because she was working but I should also be refunded more than $40. I came here to finally treat myself and I'm disappointed that I WASTED my hard earned money on TWO messed up sets. read more

Decided to try out this new place today and it did not disappoint. The salon itself is super cute, relaxing and quiet. I was served tea, water and snacks upon arrival and cozied up in their plush chairs. Lisa was extremely attentive to detail and provided an incredible manicure. The neck massage and oils really took the experience over the top. I have tried out a lot of the salons in Menlo Park and Palo Alto and this experience exceeded all of those.
