My nails were $45 which is really good compared to most other places in Dubuque. He did an amazing job making sure the shape was perfect and was very careful. The black and white tips were not perfect in shape but still pretty good. read more

This was the worse experience in my life!!! I along with my daughter had to leave unfinished. I called before arrival. With only 3 customers including me they said i had to wait outside. The facility was large. My daughter also a customer is underage, so i calmly declined. He said well we will remove. Omg!!! What just happened!!! I hate to call it but there was no other reason other than racism! Btw i am black female and i was wearing a mask due to covid and i was 6 feet away please tell me why?! Am visiting the Dubuque area from out of state and looked for a place to get my nails done. After reading yelp reviews thought this place sounded great. I called up and i guess i didnt make myself clear what I wanted...a polish for my child and nails done for the adults. He did my child's nail first and then went to the adults. He seemed really annoyed with me when i said no we want manicures he thought we all wanted just polish. He got a bowl of water for each of us that was designed for just one hand but expected us to put both of our hands in. I have normal size hands but it was very uncomfortable to put both my hands in. Also the water was COLD (i have always gotten warm water)....so being shoved into a small cold wet bowl was a horrible experience. Overall he did an okay job on my nails....it could have been better....just got back to the hotel and saw he missed a sliver of nail....i hate that. He muffed up my moms nails quite badly. She has corners that are missed. When she was putting her hands under the dryer she bumped the top of one nail and she said he made her feel bad when she asked to have it fixed... like she did it on purpose to give him extra work. We sat there forever while drying waiting for him to tell us it was okay to get up and to at least check us out or to say goodbye or something. Almost felt like he had his money and tip and he could care less after that. Also i like a little chit chat when I'm getting my nails done....its kinda awkward having a stranger holding you hand with out some conversation.....since this isnt my regular nail it was very awkward and i didnt enjoy the experience. I would not come back to this place. I offered to take my mom back and get it fixed but she wouldn't set foot back in there. This place is immaculate! Really nice and clean. Beautiful floors, the pedicure chairs are beautiful and comfy. Really nice staff, friendly and courteous. Best part is they do an excellent job! Will be back for sure. I think I just found my favorite nail salon around the area. read more

I got my nails done a while ago, and they chipped within the hour. I called the day before and asked for a reservations and had asked the price, he said it was $25, and quickly got me off of the phone. When I went in the next day, he acted like I was stupid for saying I had a reservation. As he was doing my nails, a person called to make a reservation and he quickly got them off the phone, HE DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THE NAME! Someone later came in and he wasn't done with my nails just yet, he then started to rush and made them look super sloppy and the gel wasn't set all the way yet. Royal Nails got one star because I couldn't give it zero. I'm new to town so I was looking for a place to get my nails done and Royal Nails had pretty good reviews. I was their only customer when I went and I see why now. My nail bubbled like wet paint and peeled off the night I got them done. The next day two more of my nails did the same thing. Worst nail services EVER. Alex (owner and nail tech) is rude and treated me poorly. This was my first time ever getting my nails done in Dubuque. I'm visiting for a few weeks so I was really looking for a place away from home. I called ahead and came in, didn't wait too long but I asked for a pedicure for my husband and he had no one to accommodate him because he doesn't do men's feet. Ok, that fine, my husband just left. As he begins to paint my nails, the color he's using is old and he keeps tapping it to try and get more color out. Then is smearing the paint brush against a paper towel where the color has basically turned into sticky residue and then trying to continue to paint my nails. So I'm patient through the first layer hoping it get better but he just keeps painting and painting and painting making the green color turn BLACK. I kindly asked him to explain the color difference and why the color looked so rough...he said I can smooth it out. You have to be joking. There's no way to smooth out 5 or 6 coats of paint with a clear coat. When I asked him to remove it, he said I (me!!!) wasted his time and mines. If the color was OLD, throw it away and stop charging people for old products or simply say ma'am we need to order more of this color, would you mind choosing something else. Don't just keep working with a mistake. As Im leaving, he says I'm too difficult and he's doesn't want to do my nails again. That's perfectly fine but people work hard for their money and have standards, maybe you should try getting some. In business, it's important to give people your very best, otherwise why are you in the business? This place is horrible. If you value your time and hard earned money, drive straight past this place, it won't be hard to miss. read more
