Noisy child yelling, and not a relaxing experience…read more I have been here twice. I have to say that Lisa has always been very kind, and personable. Nonetheless, when you want a massage - you do not want to talk throughout the entire service, you do not want to hear a crying or whining toddler, and you certainly do not want to hear anyone talking about schedule to walk ins while they are massaging you. The price is lower, and you get a "family" vibe. Lisa is there with her toddler, and husband. They are definitely knowledgeable because the first massage I had wasn't relaxing but I had a deep tissue massage and felt a little better. I put aside the toddler and went back. I have a very busy schedule. I didn't even feel like I had a massage when I left, and I don't feel any better today. I had asked for more pressure. I felt completely ripped off and cheated. I will NOT be back.

We called Thai body kinetics because they had the most reviews and they had availability for two for an hour body massage. When we got there, we were greeted by one staff and directed to a room for two people. When we were ready, two masseuse therapists came in. They didn't ask what kind of massages we wanted and just started working on us. It seemed promising at first when they were warming up, they asked how the pressure was and continued with work. By the half it, the girls just seemed lazy. The rest of the experience they were whispering to each other and giggling. Honestly, It felt like I was just being rubbed down with lotion, my therapist just did light work and added in stretches to make it seem like she did something. We paid $130 per person for an hour rub down. They had us Zelle their manager. For tip, they had the audacity to ask for MORE. Are you kidding? We tipped (which is optional) on the level of service and they wanted more. The space is small and they just stood there making things awkward asking for more tip. The one star review they have here was true. Don't get scammed here.

Massage table very comfortable. She does massage while you're laying on your side too. That's different & memorable. It went well. Her technique was perfect. She did well with my feet within the massage. I hate my feet touched unless it's with firm pressure, which she succeeded at doing. Knots were taken out of my back & I was extremely relaxed & comfortable. She was amazing. That is all.

Pros: * Marty Rose, manager of Ruby Spa, immediately messaged me to apologize in response to my prior review regarding a lack of customer service. I noticed that my observation was not alone, so I do hope that this has been improved since Jin is a phenomenal masseuse. It's unfortunate that all the negative reviews are pretty much about the shoddy customer service. In my experience, calling to secure an appointment has been way more successful than emails. * The current studio, which has an additional private room, is as spotless and immaculate as the old one. * My thoughts on Jin's massage, has not wavered. My 2nd time, was again, spectacular. She expertly massaged my shoulder and neck knots away. Jin also keeps the session dynamic by trying out various techniques (having you lay on your side or further down the table) and offering hot stone massage. * My boyfriend was so happy that he also purchased a 50% off deal right away Thank you Jin, will be returning!

You sign in at the lobby, then take an elevator up to the reception. I was running a little late and they were accommodating to start a little after the hour (they do mention when booking if you arrive late you forfeit the time, which makes sense since there may be customers booked after your spot). My masseuse (sorry I forgot her name!) was wonderful, very patient in waiting for me to arrive, asking if I wanted any water or tea, explaining the process and asking if I liked soft, medium or firm pressure. The pressure was accurate to my selection and she really worked on some of those knots! Felt decently sore the next day as I expected. The spaces - reception and treatment room were both set up nicely, clean and comfortable. I will say the bathrooms (which may have been shared with the rest of the floor) were a bit tight and could've been in better shape. It was the coldest day of December and my long, heavy coat was a bit hard to manage inside the bathroom stall. Didn't deduct any stars here since I'm not sure this is something they can control directly in case of a shared facility. *When I originally called to book, I thought it was interesting that they directed me to book on the website giving the reason that they'd need to take my credit card number over the phone if booking via call, versus entering my credit number online. While I appreciate the flexibility and security of passing my cc number over a website this also meant signing up for another website which usually means I'll get marketing emails that I may or may not be interested in at some point or another (aka spam). So I'm not sure if this was a persuasive selling point bc we could all use a few less marketing emails these days.

1 star I honestly…read moredon't know how this place has so many 5-star reviews. Let me be clear up front: this is not a spa. It starts with the building, which is rough- there isn't even a dedicated lobby. And the bathrooms? Disgusting. That matters more than you'd think, because instead of sheets you lie on one of those thin, cheap white towels. I actually watched a masseuse rinsing one out in the bathroom sink afterward with the hand soap. Not exactly confidence-inspiring. The massage itself was just okay. The room was freezing, and I'm not convinced Nan, who did mine, fully understood what she was doing. I would bet she's not even licensed. I booked a Swedish massage, but "a little more pressure" somehow turned into go-crazy-intense deep tissue. She also spent a strange amount of time on my legs, it felt less like a spa massage and more like the quick rub-down you get at a nail salon. If this were a budget spot, fine. But it's not priced like one. The lack of basic etiquette sealed it. When the massage ended, I hopped off the table and was putting my jewelry back on when Nan knocked exactly once and barged right back in. No water offered. She thrust the card machine at me, and as I went to pay she stepped in so close I had to actually ask her not to hover over me. Nothing about this felt relaxing or professional. There are far better places to spend your money.

I repeatedly asked the massage therapist to go lighter because the pressure was causing discomfort, but the massage continued to be painful. Before the massage, I did not have the level of back pain that I experienced afterward. Since the massage, my back has been hurting significantly. After the massage ended, I attempted to leave. I told the staff that I would send a tip once I got home because I wanted time to decide how much I wanted to give. The first woman at the spa continued pressuring me to send the tip immediately and would not accept that I planned to do it after leaving. She showed me a QR code for a Zelle payment and instructed me to send the tip through it. I attempted to leave the spa after this continued pressure, but I was then followed outside by a second woman. I again explained that I would send the tip when I got home, but she would not accept that. She insisted that I send the tip immediately and asked me to show her proof that I had done so. I sent a $30 tip through Zelle using the QR code provided by the first woman. After I showed the second woman proof of the $30 payment, she insisted that I had not sent it and attempted to use my phone herself to send an additional $30 payment. I took my phone back before she could complete the additional payment. The entire interaction made me feel extremely pressured and uncomfortable. I felt like I was not free to leave without providing a tip, and the Zelle payment was not given voluntarily. I did not know whose Zelle account I was sending money to; I was only provided a QR code and instructed to make the payment. Strangest and worst experience I've ever had getting a massage.

When we came in and said that was what we wanted they escorted us to the back to a table for a massage. I said to the women again, I wanted the foot massage. So at this point we felt trapped and like we couldn't leave as they forced us to the back area of this establishment. We laid down for our massage, and enjoyed the actual massage. It seemed like Paul actually understood the body, and it did feel good. At the end of the massage they asked us if we wanted our feet done in addition to the hour we just got. We said yes.... thinking it would be an additional $10/15 in addition to the $30. We met the lady and man who did our massages at the front after and she said $120 for both. Well that was quite different than what we came in and asked for $30/hr x 2 = $60. I tried to explain to the 4 people standing in the front that we came in and asked for the foot massage and they gave us NO choice but to do what they wanted. All I wanted was an acknowledgement. They all pretended that they had no idea what my husband and I were saying. And we both felt completely taken advantage of. Shame on you. I am the type of customer that repeats and tells others. I rarely leave bad reviews, but you may be taken advantage of if you come here.

When I walked in, the receptionist just stared at me like I was interrupting her very important work of doing absolutely nothing. No "hi," no "welcome," not even a nod. Not the warmest start, but okay, I came for relaxation, not charm school. Thankfully, my massage therapist was a dream. I was ready to float out the door until I reached the front desk again. I told the receptionist I didn't have cash for a tip and asked if I could Venmo. Nope. Then came the kicker: you can use a credit card but there's a $6 flat fee. Not 6%. Six actual, American dollars. For a $20 tip, that's a 30% surcharge! For comparison, most businesses charge a modest 2-4% fee. This felt less like a tip and more like a penalty. Another woman checking out at the same time didn't have cash either and got the same spiel. She sighed, shrugged, and paid the fee too...misery loves company, I guess. To top it off, once I paid, the receptionist didn't even say thank you. She just grimaced. Bottom line: Fantastic massage, but the front desk vibe and tip gouging left a sour taste. I came in to relieve tension, not pick up more. Won't be back.
