Nonetheless, when you want a massage - you do not want to talk throughout the entire service, you do not want to hear a crying or whining toddler, and you certainly do not want to hear anyone talking about schedule to walk ins while they are massaging you. The price is lower, and you get a "family" vibe. Lisa is there with her toddler, and husband. They are definitely knowledgeable because the first massage I had wasn't relaxing but I had a deep tissue massage and felt a little better. I put aside the toddler and went back. I have a very busy schedule. I didn't even feel like I had a massage when I left, and I don't feel any better today. I had asked for more pressure. I felt completely ripped off and cheated. This place was exactly what I was looking for. It's bare bones, but the massage was great and you can't beat the price. I'll definitely be going back here. Lisa was very in tune with what was going on with my back. When I get stressed out or have tension, my back can become very sensitive and start to spasm when touched. She was able to zone in on those sensitive parts and work around them so that my muscles relaxed enough for her to deal with the actual knots. I happened to walk by this hole in the wall, so I ducked in for some (temporary) relief for my chronically stiff neck and back. I had a $10-for-ten-minute massage. It hurt like hell, but when I walked out of there I felt like a million dollars . I went back again a week later and it was just the same. (I have only done the chair massage.) The only reason for four stars instead of five is ... well, I took off one star for ambiance -- or lack thereof. The practice is Qi-Gong Tui-Na. One of the acupressure points she pressed seemed alarmingly close to that pressure point on your neck where they can kill you in a James Bond movie, but never mind, if you can take a very deep massage, I think this place is great. read more

Due to good yelp reviews, while on vacation I went here with my daughter. Horrible massage, very uncomfortable table, poor communication. We both came out and looked at each like ???? $7 was added to the bill with no explanation, then the massage therapist confronted me when I didn't tip, then told me I had to because it was New York. Under pressure I added $5 and was yelled at as we walked out the door. When I walked in here with someone who didn't understand English, and gestures were exchanged I thought oh boy this is gonna be terrible. But I was wrong! I asked for 40 mins and while we were communicating through gestures, she gave me one painful but satisfying back rub. I went there after checking all reviews and I regret it now. I told her i have waist pain which is main reason for visiting. Even she understands what I said. She only focused on my back. Very poor massage, very uncomfortable tables. Actually got out of the massage with a really bad headache due to my already existing neck tension. If you have a tense neck, these tables will not be your friend! Also, the oil they used on me smelled like olive oil...which I thought was very strange. You get what you pay for though. Went here during lunch for a massage. I decided to do the 1 hour massage. The space is intimate and quiet. Initially I didn't know what to expect but 10 minutes into the massage I felt relaxed. The woman doing my massage was attentive and took her time to massage each section. I think the highlight was the natural feel. It was unrushed and calming.
