One of the best restaurants in Bountiful. Every time I visit Utah (about six times a year), this is our first stop. EVERYTHING is good. The staff does a great job getting to know you. They know that we eat TONS of their exquisite rice, so they keep it coming without any prompting. read more

Royal India has never let us down. They're fast, delicious and convenient for my family because it's very close to our house. They get 4 stars because there was one time where the food was so hot, it was barely edible. Other than that, it's great because they have a gluten free type of naan. We've been trying to try the local Indian cuisine for a long time, but we always forget about this place because it's quite hidden by trees and it isn't close to the other food places on Main Street. This place is worth looking around for. We ordered the chicken madras and the coconut chicken kurma to share. They were both flavorful and just impressive. We paired these dishes with aloo paratha and onion kulcha naan. The whole experience was enjoyable. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

We've been here several times and each time it has been excellent. The owner is great, the servers are on top of their game and the food is fantastic This is one of the best indian places I have ever been to. Including many in the bay area. The chicken in the curries is white meat. (not questionable like some other places I've been to) Their Tikka Masala is some of the best I've had. The service is incredible, they really care about their customers. They also are flexible on subbing veggies in any curries. Garlic Naan is also a must! read more

Went to Royal India tonight, both the food and the service was the best. when we walked in we were greeted very nicely and seated quickly. When we ordered the food i forgot to order hot chutney to go with my dinner, the waitress knew me so well that she brought it out for me anyway! The staff that works here was wonderful! Great food. Horrible service. We went on 15 Sep 18 for dinner. The waiter, some galoot did not say a word to us other than mumbling the name of the dish while he held it over our head while WE made room for it and set it down for him. As soon as we went in they don't greet you, they just say how many and start walking to the table. No one came to check on us until the Walton boy came to mumble our food orders. No "thank you for coming in?, how is the food, do you need refills, is there anything else you need. Nothing. Not a smile. Nothing. The owner, 3 waiters, the hostess, all walked by and avoided eye contact, they all look down and walk by customers. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I had to get up to get one of the wait staff to help us. She could not have acted more annoyed to have to work. On another occasion at 9pm on the dot, they turned off the lights and came to our table as we were talking and said "you have to leave, we are closed". Taste of India's food is not our favorite (still excellent) but the service is outstanding. Specially when compared to this frown-fest. read more

My wife made me come here with her twin sister. I have never had Indian food, but it turned out to be really good food! Was pleasantly surprised. The service on the other hand was a joke. We waited a good 45 minutes after finishing our food for the check to come, and it only came cause we flagged down a waiter... not our waiter... and asked for a box and the check. Our waiter had been ignoring us since taking the order. All in all good food, terrible service. read more

I went to Royal India for the first time this evening with my husband and my two small children. I am so glad I didn't look it up on yelp before going because the reviews do not match my experience. We were greeted and seating immediately. The waitress brought water and water with lids for my little ones. While we were looking over the menu, she brought a small bowl of rice for each of my kids. She reviewed the menu with us and kept our drinks full throughout our dining experience. The food was delicious, moving here from the bay area (where there are endless delicious indian options) my expectations were high, and were blown away by the ethnicity and quality of the food. The portions were perfectly sized and who can resist hot garlic naan? Yum. Restaurant was clean, well decorated, and comfortable. We will be back for sure. read more

This is my favorite Indian food in Davis County. The atmosphere is simple and the service is good. I really love their lamb coconut korma, rice, regular naan and mango lassi. They have nice flavors and a balanced variety of dishes. Their naan is cooked well and is crispy, soft and always warm. We come here often and have for years and the quality is consistent. read more

Good food at an affordable price. When you order mild, it is mild; when you order extra spicy, it makes me cry. My spicy-intolerant wife and I can both enjoy it. We can even share entrees and I can spice them up with their spicy chutney. Ok, the decor is a bit worn, but it makes for a nice meal, and it's a place we come back to. read more

i ordered the vegetable korma and it had NO FLAVOR AT ALL. I also ordered it Hot for soo ones and it was not spicy in any way. A true waste of money. i also ordered the garlic naan and it was undercooked and sprinkled with garlic salt instead of using real garlic. what a waste. i will not be coming back read more

The saag aloo was great! The chicken tikka masala was pretty good, though a little too sweet for me--but I've never really liked that dish anyway. The kulfi ice cream kept my interest to the bottom of the bowl. The naan bread was dependably good. The service was very personable, if slightly confused (there were three different people serving us, and one of them seemed very new)--but it was unobtrusive, prompt, and polite, which is all that really matters to me. Be aware that the menu doesn't have the South Indian dishes available at the Sandy location. read more

In from Phoenix and found this gem driving by. Checked out the reviews before I went in. They were good so I tried it. Very impressed!!! Service was excellent and quick, food was amazing, environment was great. Had the Chicken Tikka, rice and buttered naan bread. The chicken, onions, bell peppers and carrots came out sizzling on a hot plate. The smell and sound was divine. Rice was cooked perfectly and the naan bread I could eat all day. Also, the portions were more than I expected which made a great value for the price of the meal. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Just got take out from one of our favorite restaurants, Royal India. Wow, what a disappointment. We ordered a couple of standbys, butter chicken and shrimp vindaloo. Typically the food is rich and flavorful. Tonight it was bland and tasteless. The butter chicken is hardly eatable. So sad. Hopefully they haven't changed recipes for good. read more

After having just relocated from the California Bay Area, I was happy to see a local Indian restaurant. Back in Berkeley I experienced extraordinary Indian cuisine at Vik's and Ajanta restaurants and am always hoping newer discoveries would come close. Unfortunately it was not the case the other evening at Bountiful's Royal India. It's very accommodating for families and is quite clean. I ordered the vegetable samosas, the Chicken Tikka Masala and a sweet lassi. The staff is very attentive and I got my lassi promptly. The consistency was good but was overkill on the rose water. OMG it was like drinking rose perfume. A lighter touch on the rose water is definitely needed: chef please take note! The samosas arrived and they were excellent and were accompanied by two wonderful chutneys. The chicken arrived with rice. It was the WORST Chicken Tikka Masala I'VE EVER TASTED. Even Trader Joe's frozen version is far better by comparison. I've had many tikka masalas at various Indian restaurants over the years and this was the worst EVER. For flavors and spicing it was as if the chef introduced some bizarre quasi-Mexican spices into the mix but had a dreadful taste. Usually Tikka Masala has piquant ginger and seductive garlic and other spices but these were not evident. And even the chicken (was it marinated at all?) was hard and not succulent. Also the chicken had an "old" taste. Seriously, I was worried about food poisoning (but I'm fine). Since Royal India is in my neighborhood I might go back and order a mango lassi next time and one of the lamb dishes. Their samosas are excellent and worth the visit. Chef, I know each Indian family has their unique take on spice combinations but a review of the spicing is definitely needed. read more

Went here for my Birthday and had a great time. The dining room was almost empty so maybe that helped us get good service. Loved the food.

I have eaten here several times and it's always a nice meal. Two minor negatives to say about the place. They have a doorbell chime that goes off every time a customer comes through the door. That may be helpful to the staff when it's a slow evening but it's incredibly annoying for a customer eating dinner. Who wants to hear ding-dong ding-dong every 45 seconds while eating dinner? The other negative is the garlic naan bread is made with garlic powder. Real garlic is what I expected from a restaurant that other wise has very good food. Come on guys, spend a little extra and make the naan with real garlic, not the cheap powder. read more
