I'd been wanting to try Cilantree since it opened, and when my brother-in-law's birthday came up, it felt like the perfect excuse. His family loves Indian food, so we went for it. The space is large and can easily accommodate groups, and it got fairly busy as the evening went on. Service was solid, the food came out hot and in a timely manner, and everything we tried was really good. The birthday guy even said it's the best Indian food he's had in Davis County, so that felt like a win. My wife and I shared the butter chicken, which stood out with its rich, creamy flavor and use of chicken thigh meat. We also sampled the chicken tikka masala from other family members. Both dishes were excellent, but the butter chicken had a slight edge for me. There was plenty of food to share. The rice was just okay, and while the cheese naan was good, I'd probably opt for regular naan next time. Overall, definitely worth a visit. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

After trying around 15 different Indian places, I can confidently say this is my favorite Indian restaurant in Utah. There is so many different types of Indian food to try here and I have never been disappointed. Also the Naan and the deserts have all been excellent. If you want to go above and beyond your standard order of Indian food, this is the place to go. read more

We celebrated Father's Day at Cilantree restaurant. The buffet was wonderful complete with a wide variety of dishes. A surprisingly good Indian restaurant located adjacent to Farmington Station. We visited during lunch and they have an expansive lunch buffet available for $19.99. We were seated promptly and the server explained how the buffet worked. We were amazed at the options available and fresh naan bread was delivered to our table with our beverages. The buffet provides and amazing value and in addition to main dishes there are a few sweet treats to enjoy for dessert. More than one trip to the buffet was necessary to enjoy the variety of dishes. Cilantree is connected to the Saffron Valley restaurant in Salt Lake City and we are very familiar with the quality and service there. It's more of a casual quick serve restaurant in Farmington but a nice option to enjoy. read more

Nice and clean setting with nice dishes, could dress up or casual. Staff were so nice and helpful with our questions on their expansive menu. Since moving to SLC, this is the best Indian cuisine we have found. So flavorful and tons of authentic dishes. Cilantree is absolutely fantastic. I've had takeout from here twice now, and both times the food was incredible. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and amazingly delicious without being greasy or heavy like some Indian food can be. The portions are generous, the quality is excellent, and you can tell they take pride in what they're serving. Even though I've only ordered takeout, the restaurant itself has been very clean both times I've been in. This is easily one of those places I'll keep coming back to. Highly recommend Cilantree if you're looking for flavorful, fresh Indian food. read more

I went to their buffet lunch while I was visiting Utah with my fiance. They have a wonderful spread for about $20/person if I remember correctly. A few of the items on the menu were quite tasty while a lot of them were kinda average. I felt that it was worth the money if you want to try several Indian dishes, but wasn't the tastiest items you'll eat. The staff was very friendly, helpful and fast. The place was kinda empty and had a few tables filled so got seated immediately. I'd recommend giving it a try if you're interested to go to a buffet. read more

This is officially my new favorite Indian restaurant. Service was just right. Mango lassi was uber fresh and not too sweet. We ordered the sampler appetizer and it did not disappoint - everything on it was delicious! For the main entrees, my partner and I ordered shrimp vindaloo (hot) and the Dhaba Special Chicken Curry (medium). The vindaloo definitely made us sweat, but it's spicy in the flavorful make-you-crave more way. I could literally lick the pan. It's my fave of the two dishes. The special chicken curry came out on a hot plate and was also delectable. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the spices played on the tongue gracefully. We also had garlic naan which was, as usual, tasty in the right ways. All in all, I am def planning on coming back, especially to try their lunch buffet. read more

Reviews has this place hyped up- so we had to try since we are avid Indian food lovers. Service was fairly good, didn't come around often, but no biggie. Ordered simosas-sp? really good and dipping sauce also good. Got coconut korma- flavor lacking. Had to ask for some hot sauce- didn't help much. Buttered chicken-so so. Over all just a mediocre experience. I think people are just getting into liking more ethic food in Utah in general, and trying to think outside the box with their food choices, which is good and so this is really good to them- but it doesn't hold a candle to some of the great Indian cuisine we have in the state. Ordered Paneer Dosa like a savory crepe, paneer is Indian cottage cheese but kind of like tofu texture like soft hamburger. Delicious. Some of the best food I've eaten in a long while. We really liked the variety of food that they offered there. There were foods from all parts of India. Some of my friends I went with were Indian and they said some of the dishes had ingredients that weren't traditionally in those dishes, but we all still enjoyed them. Our servers were very kind. Went during their grand opening and enjoyed trying a variety of dishes on their buffet. But the real treat was going later and ordering off the full menu. They have quite a variety and you can also build your own curry with your favorite sauce and meat or veggies. I got the tandoori mix grill and my dining companion got the Dhaba Special Chicken Curry. Both we asked to be hot and they were pleasantly spicy. Great service. They even brought by a honeydew drink for us to try. My friend and I came here for dinner tonight. We loved this place! It's large, lots of tables, beautiful decorations, vet very clean, very attentive staff, and the food... It was delicious. It's hard to stop eating even though you are so full. Lots of your usual Indian favorites, lots of ways to modify it-- heat, proteins etc. Lots of new things I've never seen to try next time. The surprise of the night was the delicious chai tea and the sweet naan bread! We'll be back. read more

Was an absolute joy going here for a little dinner date. The ambiance was so nice- loved the furniture and utensils! The service was quick and they did not pester like some other places do. The food was delicious! We loved their mango lassi and their roti. The curry corner idea was so easy to order from and it was so good!! They have such a variety and so many authentic Indian foods and desserts- not the basic stuff. We love how convenient it is and its location. We will definetly be returning! My daughters and I went last Saturday and we were thrilled! It's a new restaurant so it's still working out a few kinks but it was worth the extra wait! We ordered mango lassis; Delicious Samosas; very good and we are excited to try the other samosa when they add it to the menu. Butter Chicken. Wonderful flavor. We are all wimps when it comes to spice and it was a little spicy for us but still worth it. Coconut korma chicken; so delicious 10/10 Tiki masala chicken; the absolute star of the show! This was our favorite dish and if I could only order one thing the next time I went, this would be it! I'm a habanero person, and I need to stop listening to people who talk me down. I still needed to add habanero flakes. If I ever go back, I'd get it a level 6 (above the normal scale). The hot sauce they gave me had no discernible spice whatsoever and just tasted like mango. I don't recommend asking for that unless you like mild/no-spice liquidy mango sauce. All in all, it's a mid restaurant with a lot of incense everywhere. It's not BAD food and the portions are great, but I've had far better. There's another Indian place basically across the street which may or may not have better food--I haven't been.

Service was great and the manager went more than out of his way to make our party feel welcome. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. A great meal, experience and night out. We will definitely come here again. I can't say enough good and the was no down-side. Please come this place out and you won't be disappointed.

I'm not a huge fan of Indian flavors, and so I don't typically choose Indian food, but the invitation from our friends who really love it was the perfect opportunity to open our palette a bit more. And I have to say, I have a feeling that this was the perfect place to try Indian food, since most of the time, when someone doesn't like a certain food, it's usually because they've never had it prepared correctly or well. I wanted to be a tad bit adventurous with Indian cuisine without sacrificing my butthole and the Saag Shorba soup was the perfect place to venture. I had no idea what this soup was but man it was very very delicious. I am not even sure what the spice concoction was, but it was heavenly. Then my husband and I split an entree of butter chicken because I knew that would also be safe for us white people who don't need to sit through Jurassic park with a burnt tongue or upset tummy. And it was very delicious. I love foods that are super flavorful without being overpowered by the heat that spices can sometimes bring. The jasmine rice that came with it was lightly seasoned and sooo good when slathered with the saucy butter chicken. We also got a side of garlic naan which was obviously a must. And everything together just hit the spot in my tummy that I didnt even know Indian food could deliver for me. We also ordered a mango yogurt drink. I didnt know that it had yogurt, so my initial reaction to it was that it seemed too warm to be a mango smoothie for how thick it was. But once I realized that it was supposed to be not freezing, my brain made better sense of it. It was very delicious. The host and servers were all super kind, and helped steer us away from dishes that would have been TOO spicy adventurous for us (like the lamb vindaloo). The seating was very nice. Super clean, and served water in stemware. It gives a more upscale, intimate vibe that was really nice for being on a double date with best friends and not having a grip of kids with us like we normally do. I still don't know how much I will personally ever crave Indian food. But I reckon if there ever was a place to make me seek it out, Red Fort will be the culprit.
