    Chicken Tikka Masala lunch special
    Rachel B.

Great lunch spot! It's just a little hole in the wall spot, nothing fancy but absolutely perfect for lunch or takeout. The server was so friendly and was happy to explain dishes to anyone with questions. We had the lunch special which today was chicken tikka masala, gobi aloo and plain naan. Everything was delicious and it was so affordable. I'll definitely be back.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. This place is pretty plain without a bunch of decor. We had our choice of tables when we arrived. Our server brought us water and took our drink order. We both had iced tea which is served in a bottle. Nothing fancy here a simple menu of seafood, chicken, lamb and vegetable dishes. My wife ordered the chicken tikka masala while I ordered the shrimp bhuna chili. We also ordered garlic naan and samosa. The samosa was great with a very fresh taste. The naan was also very good. My wife really liked her chicken tikka and my shrimp was great. Nice and spicy with lots of shrimp. So I recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the area give them a try. Like I said it is very plain, nothing fancy just great food and service. We will be going back often.

My mouth starts drooling when I even think of this place! My husband and I order from here regularly, it is one of our guilty pleasures. I've tried everything on the vegetarian menu and the Navratan Korma (aka veggie korma) is where it's at! We also love the garlic naan and jalapeño cheddar naan. If you're craving Indian food, this is the place! The inside setup is okay, if you're looking for a vibey place just order Togo.

    Mediocre decore

If you are looking for a place to sit and dine where the host calls out from the back to people at the door with to go orders, this might be the place for you! Incredibly, comically, slow service. Nediocre food and made a fuss about giving Sriracha and soy sauce, which they didnt give saying, "we are not that restaurant." Absolute dumpster that I would avoid.

I'm not a huge fan of Indian flavors, and so I don't typically choose Indian food, but the invitation from our friends who really love it was the perfect opportunity to open our palette a bit more. And I have to say, I have a feeling that this was the perfect place to try Indian food, since most of the time, when someone doesn't like a certain food, it's usually because they've never had it prepared correctly or well. I wanted to be a tad bit adventurous with Indian cuisine without sacrificing my butthole and the Saag Shorba soup was the perfect place to venture. I had no idea what this soup was but man it was very very delicious. I am not even sure what the spice concoction was, but it was heavenly. Then my husband and I split an entree of butter chicken because I knew that would also be safe for us white people who don't need to sit through Jurassic park with a burnt tongue or upset tummy. And it was very delicious. I love foods that are super flavorful without being overpowered by the heat that spices can sometimes bring. The jasmine rice that came with it was lightly seasoned and sooo good when slathered with the saucy butter chicken. We also got a side of garlic naan which was obviously a must. And everything together just hit the spot in my tummy that I didnt even know Indian food could deliver for me. We also ordered a mango yogurt drink. I didnt know that it had yogurt, so my initial reaction to it was that it seemed too warm to be a mango smoothie for how thick it was. But once I realized that it was supposed to be not freezing, my brain made better sense of it. It was very delicious. The host and servers were all super kind, and helped steer us away from dishes that would have been TOO spicy adventurous for us (like the lamb vindaloo). The seating was very nice. Super clean, and served water in stemware. It gives a more upscale, intimate vibe that was really nice for being on a double date with best friends and not having a grip of kids with us like we normally do. I still don't know how much I will personally ever crave Indian food. But I reckon if there ever was a place to make me seek it out, Red Fort will be the culprit.

The staff has been quick to seat us and attentive throughout both dining experiences. (We were there early before the dinner rush on both occasions.) We had the vegetable samosas, naan, garlic naan, chicken tandoori, masala (chicken tikka on our first visit and paneer on the second) and saag paneer--all were delicious. We asked for medium heat and our food had a just-right kick, but not too hot to be enjoyable. Perfect!

Let's start with the atmosphere, this place is amazingly mom and pop and charmingly decorated. Unlike the place up the road, you don't feel like you're in a restaurant that used to be SOMETHING else. Then the food. We started with vegetable samosas and they came out quick, hot, and delicious. Two were enough for us but I wished I could have had more. For my main, I got the butter lamb done as hot as they could make it, while my guest had the chicken tikka masala at medium. I love super spicy and was not disappointed, it caused some serious forehead sweat but wasn't panic inducing. The food was all served hot, fresh, and had amazing flavor. It came paired with basmati rice that was also fresh and aromatic. On the side we tried the roti and the fresh garlic naan and were not disappointed at either, but have to say the puffy and flaky naan was hands down the best side of the evening. I never once had to wait for a drink refill and was treated extremely well by the wait staff. Do yourself a favor and come support local Indian food in your community, you won't be disappointed!

There was also a ton of incense burning everywhere (not advertised online), so I won't come back. The naan was good, but didn't remind me of normal naan. It was just a flat, oily bread, in my opinion. It was the best part of the meal. The Chana masala was mid, as was the rice. Neither were anything special, and the rice was not just plain rice like at a lot of other places. The lady talked me down from spice level 5 to 4, but I'm glad that she accidentally put it in as a 5 (judging by the receipt). I'm a habanero person, and I need to stop listening to people who talk me down. I still needed to add habanero flakes. If I ever go back, I'd get it a level 6 (above the normal scale). The hot sauce they gave me had no discernible spice whatsoever and just tasted like mango. I don't recommend asking for that unless you like mild/no-spice liquidy mango sauce. All in all, it's a mid restaurant with a lot of incense everywhere. It's not BAD food and the portions are great, but I've had far better. There's another Indian place basically across the street which may or may not have better food--I haven't been.

Their Spicy Garlic chicken special had that Indo-Chinese sort-of-General-Tso's flavor flair. The pizza had a good house-made crust (same dough as the naan maybe?) with the cheese and ingredients, while not a knee deep level, at a tasty and satisfying level for our family-style visit.
