Coming from Markham/Toronto area for a mini trip to Owen Sound, we found this place via google maps…read moreand decided to give it a shot since it had good ratings. I don't usually have a lot of fish and chips, let alone, tried many places so please take that into consideration when reading this review :) I spoke with Tim & Jesse over the phone and they were really friendly and accommodating! They don't usually take reservations ahead of the date but rather, they take it day of. However, since we were coming out of town, Tim made an exception for us! Thanks a bunch Tim! :D We ordered the Atlantic Cod and Deep Fried Mac and Cheese. Both were really tasty! I found the Deep Fried Mac and Cheese especially addictive (since they were in cute triangle bite-sized pieces, crispy on the outside and still cheesy and creamy on the inside) before we left to return to Toronto, we grabbed one for the road! We also tried the mozzarella sticks which were awesome when you had them freshly made and the cheesy-ness and stretchy-ness just added to the experience! And no, frozen versions from the supermarkets aren't the same DUH! It will definitely be a place I will go to whenever I visit Owen Sound and I highly recommend all to try this place out! They also have another location in Meaford just east of Owen Sound. P.S. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the most IMPORTANT thing! THE MENU! Sorry guys!

The cod and halibut was good but they had Alaskan white fish which I thought was amazing. This is the only place that I know can get this fish. This is a must try. The prices are reasonable. The chips and the sweet potato fries were really good too. We also ordered the shrimp platter. It presented well but nothing special. They ran out of the crab cakes so we will try that another time. Will definitely come back for the Alaskan white fish.

They have done a nice job sprucing things up a bit and revamping the kitchen. Hope to see the red carpet in the dining room go at some point. A bit under staffed as they get on their feet a lot of work for one person at front of house to manage, quite a long wait for walk ins due to covid restrictions on the dining room. Definitely call ahead for a reservation. Staff was friendly and polite took our order correctly. Our meals where pretty good! We got two orders of the Fisherman's platter. One with fries and one with a Ceasar salad. Breading on the fish was light the halibut was a nice large piece! Cooked perfectly nice and flakey not greasy at all. The scallops and shrimp where cooked well too. Chips where fresh and light. The Ceasar salad was not worth the 3.50$ dollars for the upgrade. They just tossed two strips of bacon with it. No croutons, red onion or even parmasean. Was also dissapointed that they didn't do a home made tartar sauce and also no lemon provided with the fish. At first I was excited to see the paper in the take out bag! Then realized they wrapped the take out box in paper. Hopefully they will cut back on the waste and just wrap the fish in that beautiful paper moving forward. Would really love to see this place stick to fish and chips and sea food options and perfect their sides. Would love to see more fish and seafood meals and stay away from the burgers etc and really specialize on the seafood. There's plenty of wing and burger family restaurants and I think they could really make a go of it if they keep it simple, fresh and refined! Found it a bit pricey but overall enjoyed out meals great piece of fish! This cost us 70$ with tax.

After trying it, it tasted fine, but it was so rubbery and hard to eat - you had to chew on it forever. This fish was obviously extremely overcooked or hadn't been stored properly. My husbands meal was exactly the same. It was all I could do to get that fish into me. We won't be back. A waste of money.

There were a few people making some noise but the place was somewhat subdued. The restaurant really should be called 'The Bare Minimum'. Beer options lacked craft options. The kids Fish and Chips clearly lacked fresh fish and the fries were not only frozen but embarrassing the lowest or second lowest grade of frozen fries. A 'famous' Fish and Chip restaurant should have fresh fries. The wings were overpriced. The hot sauce was Franks. They were over cooked. I could even order a double or a half order on top of what seemed to be a disappointment waiting to happen. The menus were all crinkled and the o unfortunate lack of appetizers was evident. No chocolate milk for the kids. The taste was disappointing at best. If I was the owner, I'd be legitimately concerned about the obvious corners he is cutting. We are to fill our stomachs and not for the love of food. I get it's an attempt at a bar scene as well as Fish and Chip joint. Details and quality matters. I hope the owner puts some genuine love into this place, because it's not gonna last like this.

It was cold autumn month when we were here but they offered a dining area outside with heater. On the menu, they offered one piece fish and chips combo, or fish and shrimp combo, or chicken and back ribs at less than $25. They also offered all you can eat fish and chips at $28.99. We were pretty hungry so a few of us went with all you can eat fish and chips. The fries were mediocre but the fish was awesome. Each one piece of fish here was cut into two half pieces when they fried it. The fish was perfectly cooked and flavoured with very crispy breading with perfect thickness. The white fish tasted so fresh and soft. The owner was so nice to renew our fish a couple of times until we were full. Very satisfied with our dining experience here and strongly recommend their fish and chips.

The fish was very fresh and juicy, wrapped in a thin, crispy batter, the best fried fish I've had so far, though my limit was one fish, and I'd feel greasy after that. The fries were on the thin side; it'd be even better if they were made in authentic British style. Fried calamari was delicious. Also wanted to try their shrimp, but too bad it only came in a combo while we didn't need more fries. Their homemade IPA tasted good but was pricey - 4 cans for $35. Service was good, meeting standard expectations. Overall, it's a solid spot for fresh seafood in Tobermory.
