Royal Farms is a chain of gas stations and a quick-stop for sandwiches/deli that has been around since '59. I've always heard about their famous fried chicken that is always prepared with fresh chicken and pressure-cooked, so I was pretty excited to finally be able to try it out! The hubs and I stopped by for some gas, and it just happened that the chicken was freshly-prepared and cooked just a few minutes prior. We ordered a 3-piece wings box that came with a biscuit - while the biscuit itself was forgettable, the wings were pretty tasty! A little more on the saltier side, the batter was generous and super crunchy and spiced really well! It wasn't even dried out at the least (and, I like my wings fried hard) - the meat inside was fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy. Don't forget to get packets of their hot sauce to kick it up a notch! Food is terrible and overpriced. Staff is usually rude and often seem like they hate their job. That's usually a sign that they're short-staffed/overworked, and underpaid. I would only stop for gas out of convenience. read more

Individual chicken was very good. One person said they aren't good at sandwiches and one really liked theirs. They confused our boxes. She was very nice. Adam got two burritos without sweet peppers.... Lots of flies, for realz machine doesn't work. Only sell losing lottery tickets. read more

Get the hand picked chesapeake chicken sandwich, it is pretty funny good. Old bay mayo highlights the fried chicken. The potato roll compliments the tasty goofness. Always a winner. The men's bathroom is not well kept. Dudes are gross. Have some respect. That is all, for now. read more

I usually stop at this Royal Farms to fill up on gas on the drive back from Ocean City on weekends. They usually boast the cheapest gas prices and there are a ton of pumps, so even if there are lines during the rental season they move fairly quickly. The convenience store inside is clean as are the restrooms. The staff is usually very friendly. If you need a place to stop on your way back from the Eastern Shore, I highly recommend this pit stop. read more

This has to be the trashiest, dirtiest, litter strewn Royal Farm Store you will ever encounter. Every time we come here you will see trash all over the parking lot, on the sidewalks, and in the bushes. The trash has been there for days or weeks. The bathrooms are smelly, urine stained and gross. Avoid this place if you can. You won't enjoy the experience. read more

This is the dirtiest RoFo I've ever been in. The coffee station was disgusting...not the mess that customers make as is expected, but grime that's clearly been there for awhile. Half the stuff was empty, no stirrers, etc. and even the front counters were sticky. Yuck! read more

Royal is one of the regional full service gas convenient stores. Very clean store...and very friendly staff. Restrooms were clean...and offered a good variety of snacks. I needed some pepto...and it was available at the store...at reasonable price. When traveling to eastern shore...will have to remember this chain!!!! read more

So done with this stop, used to stop often on my trips from Ocean City to Baltimore and back. I noticed a unique can of beer and thought I would take a can home to show around. I was carded at the counter because "we card everyone", I'm 50 years old and extremely grey, basically I look the part. So I show her my ID but that isn't good enough she needs to hold it. Odd right? what she didn't tell me was that she was going to scan it into her system!! Sooo, buyer beware, whatever tracking system they thought up if you buy alcohol they are going to scan your ID. Huge fan of RoFo, regularly visiting multiple stores across the eastern shore. However, this morning the sausage biscuits were over cooked and very hard. I was worried that my crown my get damaged. I know they are not world famous for their sausage patty biscuit breakfast sandwiches, but I was hoping it would have been on par with their amazing chicken. read more

Everytime we go to get chicken here we have to wait 15-20 minutes. The manager told me to call it in so I did that tonight and guess what, I waited 20 minutes to go get it and was told then it would be 17 more minutes. The customer service is terrible. Cashiers were talking about a couple once they left the building in front of other customers. read more

The bathrooms reeked of stale piss. The only consolation I had from the sub-par chicken tenders (even for fast food/gas station food) was the horrible diarrhea that stayed with me for three days afterward. read more
