After waiting 50 minutes I was taking to the back waited another 20 minutes the dentist numbed me and left and never came back. After waiting another 1:15 minutes no one came in I left. They tried to justify the wait so I would stay. I was there for almost 3 hours for my mouth to be numbed and teeth polished.

The survey asked me if I had full X Rays in the last 5 years. I answered yes, however they still did full X Rays cause they can't make money off my visit without performing this procedure. They could have requested the X Rays from my previous dentists, however they want the bill me for something I don't need. After the X Rays I saw Dr Dike , for the general exam. She immediately tried to sell me on a 4 quadrant deep cleaning. She did not care about my dental history, my cancer screening ( cause I did not purchase the cancer screening upsell) or any of my other concerns. When I questioned her about the deep cleaning she could not come up with a coherent answer. Then she left and sent in the office manager to explain why I needed a $1400 service that they were giving me the deal of a lifetime at $1000. I found Dr. Dike on http://thehoustonblackpages.com and desired to do business with her because she was a black business. However I would encourage you to stay as far away from her business as possible. The dental space is a free for all and the result is we have providers that just do what they want.

I was first greeted by a warm smile from Carolina, who checked me in and verified my information. I waited for about 10mins in the lobby, then I was brought back by one of the surgical assistants, by the name of Unique! She took my blood pressure, made me feel comfortable, and answered all the questions I had! Shortly afterwards, Dr. Bhagyam came in to the room, and addressed my situation! He was professional, yet had it all simplified! He was awesome! After my consultation....I was moved to another room to get everything started for my procedure. This has been an incredibly frustrating and upsetting experience, and I feel it's important for anyone considering this practice to be aware of what happened to me. Of course I've had my shared of dentists in my life that I've never really like or was always skeptical of going to. However I personally have never, I mean never had any problems with Advance Dental. From the moment I walk into the office being greeted by Katherine, Gina, Alondra and Kayla who makes always feel welcomed , to being escorted to the dentist chair to be seen by Dr. Emily. I've had to have 10 implants put into my mouth, which was very expensive. Dr. Emily along with Dr. Bryan was the doctors that performed each one of them, (along with Yomi and Brandon). I must admit that it was painful, but Dr. Emily did every thing she could to alleviate as much pain as possible and of course me thinking about the end results mentally helped a lot. Dr. Emily was very attentive to my needs and any questions or concerns that I had. Now all the implants are completed and most of my crowns are in, just waiting for the remainder of my gums to heal to finish the process. Now to the expensive part I previously spoke of above. When I first went to Advance Dental I did express to them that I'd like to get implants but wasn't sure if I had an insurance that would cover it, because I definitely could not afford to pay out of pocket for this whole procedure. Fortunately the office manager, Mirita, took the time and got right on it. She did the research and worked diligently with the insurances that I had and made it happen. Of course I did have my parts to pay, but just a fraction to what the insurance companies paid. It would have been nice to receive this online to complete ahead of time. Well the reason I was at Advance was because my insurance changed and I was looking for someone in my new network. Advance Dental is on my providers website as in network. When I called to set up my appointment I asked Kayla if Advance Dental was in network with my provider, she paused and said they take my insurance. I asked how much my visit would be and she told they would give me that info prior to my scheduled visit. When I arrived early for my 1:30 appointment, completed their paperwork, I was told 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment that they were not in network with my provider I was told that I could get an exam, X-rays, and evaluation for $69. Once this was done Dr. Emily came in and examined my teeth and recommended a deep cleaning. Not a problem with at recommendation, but there was another additional cost that they never discussed with me prior to my visit as requested. I asked to speak to the office manager so I could discuss how I felt I had been misinformed. I was told the manager was busy and could not speak to me. The office managers name is Mirta. Here's the bottom line of this review. I trust the way my interaction was handled is just a one off. Done I could not speak to the office manager I just thought it would helpful to others to ask "what I will have to pay questions" clearly and upfront before you arrive at their office.

They will do their best to work you in if need be and find the best time that fits. Jessica's hygienist is wonderful and does a thorough job. When you're finished you'll get a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and mouthwash. YAY! Adult goodie bags. Jessica is straight to the point and honest about what treatments you need and whats going on inside your mouth. I am grateful. She has been practicing for years and comes with loads of experience. I am not sure they youngest patients she sees, however I have seen elementary age children in her office. Again, I wish I had been seeing her for years, but grateful I have found her now.

After I had already cancelled the last appointment and asked to reschedule to this appointment that was months in advance which I was already disappointed I had to wait that long to reschedule. She proceeded to call another family member who didn't even know who she was talking about and made them cancel my appointment to squeeze another person in. This was EXTREMELY unprofessional and unfair to a whole family who comes here. Not only did that happen they had the receptionist (the old lady) who I did not like her attitude at all operate on me for a new retainer I needed instead of a technician they had to do the impression so many times because they were trying to teach a receptionist who obviously had no experience. This was done without my consent and took way longer than my appointment needed to be. This was very uncomfortable as the mold they put in is gross and one-two times should've been enough. Stay away not the kinda dentist office you want to start going to.
