Our experience at this office was very disappointing. The staff used high-pressure tactics and recommended unnecessary services -- recommendations that were later contradicted by two other dentists. We were also told over the phone that they accepted our insurance, but upon arrival, we were informed that they did not. They attempted to pressure my child into getting braces immediately, despite my husband explaining that we needed to discuss the decision as parents first. In addition, they refused to provide a standard cleaning that is fully covered under our insurance and instead insisted on a different, more expensive procedure. This visit was a complete waste of time, and we even had to take our child out of school because of their misinformation. I would not recommend this practice based on our experience. read more

Worst dental experience I have ever had.in my 70 years. Went in with a cracked tooth, loose in my mouth. The office started off being very uncaring (cold hearted). Bedside manner was at 0%. When the dentist arrived she wore a mask and spoke very soft without addressing me personally, had to keep asking WHAT?. She advised I needed the tooth extracted but could not get to see a sergon until mid Sept. but she could pull it if I couldn't wait seemed like a money grab to me. Came in for a routine cleaning, waited over two hours (even with an appointment scheduled) and was told by the staff that a teeth cleaning was not necessary if I brushed my teeth and flossed. Was sent back to waiting room thinking I would still be called back to do the cleaning I originally scheduled. After what felt like ages I went to the desk to find out an estimated time I would be called back only to be told I was just waiting on paperwork and that I wouldn't get a cleaning today. (What I literally came for) and was handed a bill of $466 for whatever else they decided to do without letting me know beforehand. I take my dental hygiene very seriously but nevertheless I'm never going to get 100% of the buildup which is why I go twice a year for a teeth cleaning. No quality of care. First and last time going to this office due do lack of communication and a lack of doing their job! read more

Applause for ruining a little girl's experience again and having her wait over 3 hrs to even be moved to a toom! Brident Baytown office was doing so well after the fiasco that was the previous manager and front office staff until you changed the front staff and manager. Brought back the rude, entitled power crazy young girl (slim Caucasian w/long dark hair) and a manager who was combative and faced away from me because I was asking questions and wanted answers as we were speaking. But she insisted I was interrupting her and told me I never saw this 'specialist' and I said excuse me what is the dr. name and she said she will tell me after she can speak. I said no I need to know his name because I already spoke to the Nigerian dr. during a previous consultation for the extraction. Then she said yes, Dr. A, is the specialist and I was like write down his name. If she had done her research, she would see I spoke to him already and was just waiting for the extraction to be scheduled. Then she proceeded to say that what the other girl who went from me asking for the estimate time for the oral surgeon to her telling me 1hr, asking to verify which she said she knows how long, but I was watching the desk while waiting in the room but she did not move around like she said. She jist refused to resolve the matter by asking someone working with the Dr. I told my daughter was hungry since she last ate breakfast around 9a and now it was almost 4hrs since our appt. So she told me that I can go eat but I told her she will throw up when the Dr. is in her mouth to her telling me that you are welcome to leave. I never mentioned leaving at all she was trying to push me out. After she told me 1 hr. more, as I turned to towards the room the she says 2hrs now. So I said what do you mean 2hrs. not a 1 minute ago you said 1hr more now you add another hr. Then she says I told you 1 -2 hrs. I said that is not true yii told me 1hr more and now you are saying 2hrs. They have no regard for integrity and truth which is a terrible reflection on Brident. Another patient before all of this happened told she was waiting 4hrs and counting and she drove in from Beaumont...so good luck with any help then this incident occurs. So Brident gave us patients hope of a more efficient front office, kinder individuals and more considerate just to lure us in and then bam! Rude, combative and zero customer service. All I was asking for the girl to go ask how much longer... I never intimated to disturb the surgeon (she made it seemed like I was), surgery should never be rushed and she made it seemed as if I wanted him not to give that patient his full attention. Then when I reiterated I just needed to know how much longer, just an estimated time, I am accused of all sorts of things. She told me then I am more than welcome to leave. So now you're pushing me out again. After I was already moved to a room waiting 3 hours in the waiting room. Then I asked about rescheduling and you tell me August is the next opening. But you would not let go of your power crazy pedestal that you were on so that you could be right. Then the manager supported the girl when she took it upon herself to change my appt from a consultation with extraction to only a consultation because she said the front staff can decide that and tell the doctor what he can and cannot do. I said how could you change from me having a consultation with extraction to telling me that I was now only going to have a consultation. I said how could you change that without consulting the surgeon and what kind of company is this that you can make that decision to reduce my extraction to a consult. And that you decide what the surgeon does and doesn't do. Then1 the manager despite having 2 other staff as witnesses still supported the girl's asinine responses. So I am taking my business elsewhere at least the extraction part because I am almost finished with the braces. It becomes the worst dental office due to the staff... Drs. are the best but Brident fell into the Royal Dental trap. Get rid of all your front staff, manager and some of the hygienists that sat there and say nothing in the patient's defense. No wonder the other hygienists moved on... worst working environment and I work in a Contact Center. read more

This has to be the worst dentist office I've ever been to. Almost every time I went they would call me back 20-40min after my appointment time. They seem to still keep physical files for whatever reason and they will get my paperwork mixed up and I have to explain I've already done an examination. Had Dr. Stuart evaluate my teeth, she was fantastic. However I originally came in about Jaw pain and it was never mentioned or brought up again. I was rushed into paying for a wisdom tooth extraction with very unclear communication as to what was really going on; didn't have the ability to pay for it up front due to miscommunication, afterwards I decided to cancel the surgery and tried to reschedule an evaluation for my jaw; I was essentially refused service in the kindest of ways because I mentioned I would get the wisdom teeth extracted elsewhere. I am really failing to see the truth in all of the 1 star reviews of Royal Dental in Baytown my experience is nothing but stellar with these folks and this office the staff is always nice and thorough in anything that needs to be explained. The Doctors (Dentist) are Golden and humorous in my time of need for dental surgery. The office is super clean and volume is high as far as patient count and that is a tell tale sign for me. Waiting 4 hours in a dental office I took off work getting paid to sit in a waiting room to have your insurance plan lost in their system to having to run insurance twice to get a simple root canal. OMG THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! First we had to have preliminary appointments for a cleaning ... that took 2 hours at which point they tried to get me to have a specialized cleaning for $750 to which I refused and scheduled a regular cleaning.. they called and texted a dozen times to confirm my regular cleaning and I always responded yes... they night before the appointment they called at 5:00 and asked me to come in at 8:30 instead of the long scheduled 3:30 and I said no.. at 5:45 they called back and cancelled !!! They Wanted to reschedule for the 14th... when we benefits start over & I'm not off... worse was my husband who had an hour long prelims appointment and a cleaning appointment a week later only to get there and after wasting 2 hours tried to charge him$750 for a special cleaning too! They refused to just do a regular cleaning!!! Mind you we have zero dental problems - get cleaning every year dnd only went to this DUMP because of insurance... The only reason I have used this provider is because it is on my insurance plan. Their work is OK, but their customer service is abysmal, as is their accounting department. I pay my bill on time each month through an automated banking service. Yet every time my son goes to have his braces adjusted, he is told he must pay some random amount. When I've discussed the issue with the in-store accounting clerk, I've been assured that I simply need to put the proper patient account number on my checks. Yes. I already do that, so why does your central accounting staff continue to post payments to the wrong patient. Today was the last straw. My son was asked to pay $250 when he arrive, although I had ALREADY PAID THE BILL IN FULL. I spoke with the branch manager who apologized profusely and suggested that a letter from a customer to the corporate office would get better results than her request for improved accuracy from central accounting. Really? Consider that letter in the mail. Once my son's braces are removed in September, I will no long use this dental office. read more

My husband just had a tooth pulled last week and this whole time he thought it was stitches rubbing his tongue raw...so I looked into his mouth and I can not believe they left him in the condition he is in!!! His jaw bone is exposed and jagged edges all along the bone, even his jaw looks like hamburger meat now! "Military medics in Iraq did a better job (with limited resources) then this on him!" I just don't find this a very user-friendly dental service. But they're the only one in town on my dental plan. I made an appointment over a month ago, but when I called last week to confirm, they had me down for the previous Friday. Glad I checked. I went this morning. The clerks and dental assistants are nice, they got me in on time and took my copay, and made some x-rays, but they discovered they had not scheduled enough time for the entire procedure. Have to reschedule for 2 weeks from now (so I'll have to miss work), and copay will be a lot more than I've ever paid before, and than I was expecting. The dentist came in without greeting me, sat behind me without getting in front so I could see him, and grumbled something unintelligible. I'm begging my insurer for better service. read more

ROYAL DENTAL's EMPLOYEES ARE EXTREMELY DISHONEST AND DO NOT DESERVE ANY BUSINESS EVER! First time I showed up to get my teetth cleaned, they said "sorry, we didn't understand that you were booking the appointment for a cleaning, we thought you just wanted an exam" Next time I called ahead, I made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned there, made sure they had the dental hygenist there for the appointment , and WHEN I SHOWED UP they said they wouldn't do a cleaning without doing an Xray and exam this time (because my insurance pays for a new set each year and they want as much money as they can get) so I said OK as long as I also get my teeth cleaned today. Then after they did the Xray and exam on me, "Oh sorry, the hygenist just left, you can't get a cleaning today, but we can make you an appointment for next week." During the exam, the dentist also enjoyed using the sharp end of the instrument on my teeth, putting a ton of pressure, my guess in an attempt to make scrapes/holes/pain so I would get cavities and need more work done from him... He made the instrument wobble and bend because he was pushing so hard, so hard that his hand was shaking... really dishonest trying to damage my teeth like that just so he could make more money. I had left work each time, so they cost me a couple hours each time of pay just to get the run around and not get what I asked for. STAY FAR AWAY IF YOU CAN! read more

I was assigned to the dental office through my insurance company. On the day of my appointment I got a text to remind me to be on time about 15 minutes before my appointment. I text I'm on the way. My appointment was at 10am. I got to the appointment at 9:50am. First thing that was not acceptable, the office was full of people. There was no social distancing going on at all. Secondly none of the ladies behind the desk had masks. Thirdly when I got to the desk to speak with the lady about signI got in for the appointment, I was told the doctor was running late and would not be in for 1.5 hours. I ask why didn't you stay that in the text you sent me? I was told, "we just got in contact with the doctor". Why would they have to contact the doctor, he/she should contact the office when running late. Lastly the staff were very RUDE. I just cancelled my appointment. Went to my car and removed them from my insurance. I refuse to pay someone who is inconsiderate of my time and very rude. Good luck if you use this dental service. Good God! Run! Stay as far away from this place as possible! The front desk staff is friendly, and one nurse in the back is friendly too. Other than that, it's a crap shoot. The "dentist" is a straight up a-hole who is more into performing a magic show than doing real dental work. Maybe it'll be good, maybe it won't work. After the second chance, he told me the gum graft surgery wasn't always a sure thing. But rest assured, overcharging what their office's deal with my insurance company is a sure thing and he didn't hesitate to take my money on a gamble. To top it all off, each time i went into the back with my daughter, there was blood on the floor from the last victim. They could at least use a mop. read more

On 10-30-2014, I attended my appointment for the preparation for oral surgery. The doctor and I agreed that I should submit to partial sedation for my procedure. I paid the full deductible for the procedure and scheduled the surgery. On 11-12-2014, I arrived to the office for my procedure. When I sat down in the procedure room, the doctor told me that he no longer wished to perform partial sedation. He told me I could proceed with local numbing and attempt to use nitrous oxide. Because they put me on the spot, I did not have time to clearly think through my options, I went ahead with the surgery. Both my ride and I had already taken PTO for the day. When the surgery was complete, I insisted they refund the fee for IV sedation. The receptionist said that my insurance would need to pay before they would refund my money. I signed the refund form and waited patiently for my explanation of benefits from the insurance company. I received the explanation of benefits from the insurance company on 12-9-2014 and contacted Royal Dental (4:21PM) for the process of receiving my payment. The receptionist told me that it would require 60 days before they would refund the money owed to me. In short, they changed my surgery procedure the day of the surgery and put me on the spot in doing so. Then when they owed me money, there was no one I could speak to for my refund. No one at their local branches have the authority to refund money. read more

I was on the hunt for a good dental clinic in my area and ran into Royal Dental on google. I had seen they had ok reviews and decided to have my Family get their dental needs taken care of there. Our initial visit was for X-rays to find out what work needed to be performed, once that was completed I was to discuss it with one of their employees to find out how to proceed and how funds would be collected. Upon all of my family having their X-ray done and discussing it with their employee I had called my insurance in order to verify all charges being made. Once talking with my insurance i had found out that 75% of the charges being made to me was covered through the insurance provided. So I went back in order to discuss with them and eventhough they had advised that they would look through it, I basically had to make them sit with me and call my insurance on the phone this way all parties were able to hear the same thing. Since they were advising that they deal with this every time and insurances are frauds and don't tell you everything. Upon a conference call it was confirmed that the insurance was correct and that there was already an agreement contract between the dental clinic and the insurance of price negotiations but would not affect the patient whatsoever since I was basically 100% covered for most of it. Once this was done, the clinic was still unsure of the billing and requested a pre estimate for all services that were going to be performed. Which at this point I still would understand their point of view since I would want to do the same if I was unsure about something. The disappointment comes in when it has been 3 months and still counting for confirmation from them. I have called the insurance to make sure they had sent the pre estimates and they stated that they had already sent them out but did not send them complete with all services listed. This was because the clinic did not send all required documentation that was needed which they were also contacted about. So like I said it has been about 3 months and still pending which is unacceptable. On top of all this, the clinic had called me to tell me I had an unpaid balance and that a service that was going to be performed on my son the next day was not going to be able to do so until I paid the remaining balance. Which in actuality I have been and still waiting on them for insurance confirmation. I will be choosing a new dental clinic and will no longer need their services. read more

My granddaughter is in need of a root canal and this is the only dental office on her insurance plan. when this procedure was scheduled her grandfather had taken her in for the evaluation. they stated she could be brought in for the procedure and I could stop on my way home to sign for payment on my credit card. She got there before I did and was sent home because I had not been in yet. Strike one. When I arrived the price quoted to my husband was now doubled. strike two. when I asked to have this explained everyone became very defensive. I was told her insurance down graded the crown to a metal one and that they would not put this on a permanent tooth even if it was in the back of her mouth. In effect they doubled the price of the procedure and would not give me, as the person paying for this, any choice in the matter. Most root canals only last 10 yrs no matter what the crown is so I feel that I should have some say in this. Strike three. If I had any choice in this I would not be having this procedure done here. In effect this is legal robbery= quote one price, double it, and refuse any negotiation in the matter.
