The fact is, I am a Virginia resident, and when I asked Mr. Miller (in Virginia) if he was a licensed contractor, he answered in the affirmative, but importantly forgot to add "In another state!" Or "not in Virginia." Mr. Miller claims he never misrepresented his credentials to me, and that I am mistaken, but ultimately, it was concerns from a routine background check on his individual record that caused me to abruptly decide to let it pass by. At the time, I had not even known about other buyer beware signs that came up under Log Art former LLC. nor had I read the other Yelp review.

We contracted Log Art and Design "LLC" to refurbish our deck. C. M. owns the business and appeared…read moreto be a responsible individual and gained our trust after speaking with us in our home about his experience. After we signed the contract and paid 50% up front we started to have communication problems with him. Fast forward a few months and the frustration with him and his workmanship was very high. He hired people to come do the work who constantly showed up late and appeared in no condition to be working on a deck 2 stories up. There would always be periods of weeks when nobody would show up and when trying to communicate with C. M. we would get nothing. After a few months the deck project was only about 40% complete and after about 6 weeks of absolutely no work being done I felt there was no other option but to go to court. C.M. never communicated with me and did not show up for court at all and eventually the civil suit successfully went through. As of today though we still have had no success with collecting one penny of the thousands we have paid to C.M. of Log Art and Design LLC. Furthermore the "LLC" He claimed to be was untrue so I can't recoup and of what I paid him through the compensation fund set up for customers dealing with unscrupulous businesses.

From our very first meeting with Cliff (the company owner!) to the final walk-through with Sam, the project manager, the experience was exceptional every step of the way. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Not once did we feel anything less than a top priority. Texts were answered within an hour, and emails were always returned within hours. That level of responsiveness gave us complete confidence and peace of mind. Mike, Pavlo, and Wade were the primary builders, and they were phenomenal. They treated us like rock stars during the entire three-and-a-half-week build. Mike, the lead carpenter, took the time to explain every phase of the project in detail, which my wife and I truly appreciated. Whitmer Decks removed our old deck and built a beautiful new 14x12 screened porch, along with a 10x10 deck and staircase. I'm no professional photographer, but the results speak for themselves--we are absolutely thrilled. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can fully enjoy our stunning new space. The craftsmanship is simply incredible. These guys are true artists. Every time we look at the work Whitmer Decks completed, we're blown away all over again. Spent an hour at my house discussing and taking measurements. Waited nearly two weeks for the quote and get a call they don't "replace" and confirmed they said they only do new construction per the "manager". Missed HOA deadline for May due to waiting on this final quote to make my decision to submit the application. Frustrating. They clearly didn't want the job or update your website to remove "deck replacement".
