In the beginning of my project, I received 4 project estimates. 1 national and 3 local fence companies. I went with MC Fence based on online reviews and my meeting with the sales rep. I felt MC Fence would provide the best quality in product and service in comparison to the other companies. The process, the price, the schedule to install, and the completion was absolutely awesome. On installation day, there was a slight mishap. However, MC Fence team were 3000 percent on top of ensuring that this situation was resolved. They were pro-active and in total problem-solving mode. They provided extraordinary customer service. Their team installed my backyard fence in about 6-7 hours, and they did an excellent job. My fence looks great, and I am extremely happy. I am so happy that I went with MC Fence and will contact them when I'm ready to extend my patio/deck. Thank you, MC Fence Team!!! read more

The fence looks nice and they installed it fast. The price was great compared to other quotes I received. Communication was ok at first, but when I needed some post caps replaced because they blew off, I was told they would be by but I have not seen or heard from them again. read more

They lost last year's contract when I paid them $8213.50. I tried to get an update contract with the costs and drawings. I tried to get the old contract. I tried repeatedly. Shannon Colwell the owner dragged this out for a month. Then I told them repeatedly I am going with a different company. I wanted my money back. Still no money back after many emails sent with many excuses. Save your emails. Avoid doing business. Another company gave me plans costs and contract within 24 hrs and I was able to get a fence and deck installed in 2 weeks. Avoid Tru Fence. Avoid MC. Avoid this company. I'd appreciate taking my money and providing the services as the company did the first time. Mind you, that fence (can share pictures, wasn't remotely sturdy) should have been cheaper but the job was done (didn't age well). This was an easy job, and correspondence has been evidenced by documentation, but no concrete answer as to why it's suddenly requiring more payment. Yet, zero follow through, and I'm not wasting more time, you have my money, and the job to complete the service or return the money prior to dispute and Amex is undisputed. Emails bouncing back from your authorized employees is beyond me. Let me know if you need photos, invoices, and statements; plenty to provide. Respectfully, Thank you for taking the time out of my day, To deal with your lack of follow through. read more

Poor communication, poor workmanship. Definitely don't stand behind their work!!!! This is the fence within hours of install. Fence is not plumb, wood is split, beat up, trimmed to fit into sections because they didn't build the fence properly! read more

Completely unprofessional. They arrived 2 hours late for the quote, but we were still interested because of our neighbors reviews and wanted to move forward with both a fence and a deck ASAP. We planned it out with the employee and were told we would receive a quote that night, but didn't. After following up the next day, we were told it would be sent that day and again, nothing. It has now been over a week, and despite multiple calls and messages to both the company and the employee, we've been completely ignored. All we asked for was the quote so we are curious to know why they didn't want our business, seeing we were happy to move forward and many of our neighbors have used them. If you don't want the job, just say so. Ghosting potential clients is unacceptable. read more

Terrible company to work with. Ghosted me for 3-4 months after the contract was signed. Once I finally heard from them I was continually lied to about the installation date. Ended up taking 5-6 months before they installed the fence. I've heard this same story from other people as well - do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere other than MC Fence. read more

Had a vinyl fence installed on the side of my home the original crew they sent out did a very poor job. It was uneven and wobbly they also killed a few of my plants I was growing. I called the job manager and explained what happened. He sent another crew the very next day and installed a new fence those guys did an excellent job. read more

While they were literally just one final day of punch out items away from getting highly rated, we are left with an enclosed patio that has not been completed via a final walkthrough. Once the lender released all the funds, we haven't heard from them again. Again, all they had to do was send someone out to finish the last few items. Now we're left to go through several reporting agencies, including the finance company and an attorney, to get compensation for the items we'll have to pay a private contractor to fix. They left cigarette butts all in our yard, trash and supplies for weeks to the point there are large patches in our yard that have yet to grow back. I would never recommend or use them again. They did a fence job for us years ago with no issues but this is just dumb and irresponsible on their part at this point. Having to go through all the legal loopholes and pay fees to fight a patient customer when they could've just finished what they started. We went weeks with no contact at times. Even now, Mike Colwell and Gary Barlow, have not responded to us in over a week. At one point it had been 3 weeks with no reply or follow up. read more

I hired them to replace part of my wooden fence in July 2024. Very soon after installation, many of the planks began to warp. One of the posts that a gate is attached to also warped and caused the gate to rub against the opposite post making it very difficult to open. I had a very difficult time getting someone to come out to take a look at it. Finally someone came out but I never got a quote or any sort of follow-up. I called numerous times but they were never able to find the estimate from the person who came out. Finally, was able to schedule another person to come out. Took time off of work and THEY NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP! No phone call...just crickets. I'm done with them and I would not recommend this company. read more

Hired them to replace an existing deck in March 2024 with a quote of 8-10 weeks. They were not close to meeting the timeline and the deck was not complete until September 2024. Job had issues the entire time ranging from materials not being ordered timely, not ordering the right quantities, failing the county inspection & submitting the wrong plans to the county. Company continuously made excuses and took no accountability. Some deck boards recently came loose less than a year after installation and it is impossible to get in contact with someone to fix the issue. The young man who came over on Saturday, 4/6/2024 for an estimate wasted my time, his, and the company's. He ran a bit late but did text from (703) 967-2196 to let me know which, I appreciate. He spent about 45-60 minutes listening to the type of fencing I was requesting but, mainly on taking measurements which, I appreciate. However, the estimate never came. This is our exact communication: 4/10/24 (Wednesday) Me - "Hello, when can I expect the fence estimate?" Him - "I'm out of town at the moment. I will be back Friday and send over all information." Nothing was sent on Friday, 4/12/24. 4/13/24 (Saturday) Me - "GM. Is fence estimate ready. I'm eager to get the fence installed as I have other projects scheduled but pending fence installation. Thanks." Him - "It's pending approval for pricing. I will send it tonight when I get to my computer. Tomorrow morning at the latest. Sorry for the delay!" Me - "Ok thanks for the update." It's now Tuesday, 4/23/24, 10 days after our last text conversation and no word or estimate! What a joke and again, a waste of everyone's time. I went with Port City Fence and Decks the only responsive and reliable company out of three. I do not recommend MC Fence. Stay clear! read more

I'm so happy with my fence and so glad I chose MC Fence!! Not only were their prices more reasonable than other companies, their service was excellent and our fence is BEAUTIFUL! We had a very complicated permitting process that MC Fence helped us navigate. Specifically on this, Zack Seders was truly just exceptional. Zack was extremely responsive and proactive when coordinating with Arlington County and me. Zack was quick to help us reach solutions that didn't compromise the fence we wanted with what the county required. He was also just a nice, professional person to work with!! Very impressed with the entire MC Fence team and think you will be too. read more

I had inquired about having a fence built around my backyard. It was easy to set up an appointment and I received several reminders and a confirmation. The day of the appointment, the representative showed up a few minutes early and was very friendly. But that's where things got confusing... He never measured the property, and said he would just get the measurements from the plat survey. Then he handed me two picture booklets, one with vinyl fencing and one with wood fencing, from two different vendors I guess they use? He seemed to be pushing me towards wood fencing, but literally gave me no details about either, and finally I said, "Well, can you at least give me estimates for the basic wood fence and the basic vinyl fence?" He said yes, and then he left and I never heard from him again. read more

Jarrod is one of a kind. He knows more about fencing than any one man should. I definitely would call him again.

Very disappointed and never get response. Once I get the fence installed had concerns and they never address with complete ignorance. DON'T DO IT!!!! Had initial install June 2024 ..... Still trying to get corrections/adjustments months later! Fence is supposed to be 5ft tall... Not so for a 19ft section. They contacted me later to say that the original estimator was no longer working for the company. I gave them a 2nd chance and had everything work out. I was worried about the pricing given the run up of lumber costs but it was OK. Crew came when they said they were going to, actually a little early. Four person crew took half a day to fence in my backyard using some existing fencing of my neighbors on two sides. HOA approval was the thing that delayed the start. I went with a fancier estate 5 board style and it looks great. I also was paranoid that I'd put the fence on my neighbors property and learned out of the exercise that my neighbor's pool fence is actually 1 foot on my property on one corner. Most importantly my new 7 month lab loves the freedom! Paid cash to save some. read more

We had them install a four foot fence around our yard about 2.5 years ago. They generally did a good job with a few spots that don't look great, but in one corner they didn't angle and sink the nails properly and as a result the fence is now separating from the post. We have tried multiple times to get them to send someone to take a look and give us a repair estimate, but they continue ghosting us. Don't love this customer service failure. read more

So far so good. Jeff was my sales rep and has been professional and lighthearted in dealing with me. When I made a joke about the MC part of their name and suggested he should be a rapper, he did a beat box for me. That's my kind of guy! They've installed half the fence so far with good results. There was some confusion about buying into my neighbors fence that we got resolved quickly. That was a miscommunication and not the company's fault. I'll update my review when the work is done, but impressed so far. ***update*** so the job is done, but not without an issue. Seems that they forgot to finish the fence. They ran it the length of the property but failed to tie it into the front to connect with the gate post. Whoops! My daughter caught it. Reached out to Jeff who knew both about it. Maybe they ran out of material? He wasn't sure. Turns out it was a translation issue from English to Spanish. Guess they didn't know they were supposed to do it. Say what?? Pretty ridiculous. I think an old fashioned eye test would say the job wasn't done. Finished the job the next day, but the ending wasn't as good as the beginning. Losing a star because of that, down to 4. read more

Jason of MC Fence was very responsive, gave me a good estimate and the crew were professional!

TLDR: Bad installation. Repeated no shows. Fences needed to be replaced in 4 years. The installed fence is passable. I had several issues which I pointed out on the day of the installation. This includes multiple pieces that were damaged when the installers dropped them from the truck. The worst issue was the checking of the post that was installed next to the gate. These were stated to be non-issues by MC Fence. However, after the first rainstorm and since then, the gate would not open due to the checking getting worse. I've had to saw off more and more of the gate in order to open it. The locking mechanism has broken due to poor quality. That means that in just 4 years, I've needed to replace the some of the fences which were installed by MC Fence. These issues were pointed out on the day of installation, but MC Fence did not care that they installed inferior quality fences so long as they got paid. In attempting to replace the fences (again, it has only been 4 years since they were installed) they took 3 tries to get a person out to estimate the work. That is, three separately scheduled days and times to get a person to show up. I also needed to reach out to the person multiple times after not receiving the estimate for over a week. I tried to use them again to replace their original fence installation 4 years later, but the customer service was so bad, I gave up. read more

I contracted with MC fence in April of 2024. They started the job in June of 2024. The contract clearly states that the work will be done in 2 days or less. They started the job on a Thursday. They left their work trailer parked in front of my house, and left Thursday evening. Friday morning, they showed up, hooked up the trailer, and left. I called the salesman, to ask what going on. I was told that they had an important job to go to, and would finish on Saturday. Saturday comes. No show, No call. Nobody answers the phone. No show Sunday, no show Monday. I call the office Monday afternoon, and the general manager starts screaming at me over the phone. I have no idea what he's saying, because he's screaming so loud, it's just distortion. I hang up and call the sales rep. He tell's me, that someone will be out Tuesday. A crew shows up, works for a few hour's then leaves, not finishing the job. No one show's up Wednesday or Thursday. Friday, a crew shows up and completes the job and askes me to sign off on the work. I refuse to sign, because most of the fence posts are leaning so badly, the lob looks terrible. The crew had to dig out, and straighten 17 out of 28 fence posts to make the fence look straight. I contacted the owner, but never got response. I should have gone with a local company. read more

Requested an estimate to have a deck and screened in porch upgraded and replaced. The initial meeting went well. Andrew did a great presentation, after that, they went silent. after a few weeks we we're still waiting for an estimate for a project and have since given up. Scheduled an estimate. Two stars as opposed to one because contrary to some other reviewers, the estimator actually showed up. However, he tried to get me to sit down and sign on the dotted line without even giving me a dollar figure or before measuring. I told him that I was in the process of gathering estimates and that I would make a decision after they were all in. He seemed taken aback by that, and then reminded me that since they dig down 24" (no different than anyone else) and were using 3 rails for a 5' fence (also no different than anyone else) that their price would likely be higher. Alas, I never received an estimate. He told me I would hear back in "24 to 48 hours" (seriously?? It doesn't 48 hours to calculate how much it costs to construct a fence... it's just math) but I never heard anything. No estimate, no nothing. read more

I reached out to MC Fence back in September to have two gates removed and have new post installed for the gates along with a gate repair. Two gentlemen came out within two days to take a look at the project and provided a proposal within a week. This was going to be a $6k project and they required a $3k deposit. We submitted the signed contract and deposit back in October which was cashed right away. Here we are March 16th, 2022 (5 MONTHS LATER) and NOTHING has been completed. I cannot get anyone to return my phone calls or emails, even the owner of the company who emailed me stating that someone would be out no later than March 1st will not follow back up with me and of course nobody showed up by March 1st or has shown up at all. I am livid and beyond frustrated and now having to use an attorney to go after them in order to get the $3k deposit back so that we can go with another company. DO NOT USE MC FENCE AT ALL COST!!!!
